Avatar f tn some kids begin stuttering when they begin school and demands are placed upon them, or when a new sibling is born, or moving homes- things like that. Stuttering can also increase when more changes or stress be brought on such as: starting a new school, or high school, or beginning a new job, or dating a new partner. Think changes in the way things used to be. This happens because as you have more demands placed upon you, the less capacity your brain has to worry about fluent speech.
Avatar f tn I read that anxiety and stuttering are not directly linked and that it might be due to sertraline. Will this go away or will I just have to get on with it, and will this anxiety go away eventually or is it the sertraline causing it? Any ideas would be great please.
Avatar f tn Has any one ever come across speech difficulty, either slurred or stuttering speech, along with migraines? I have done research on the subject and have come up with the slurred speech issue with migraines but not stuttering and i'm trying to help my twin with her migraines and speech difficulties from ending her career.
Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.
616450 tn?1228433627 I've been taking Zyprexa at bedtime for the past few nights, per Endo #3, and I feel a lot better, folks. As a matter of fact, I felt better almost immediately after taking the first dose. It seems to act quick, like Xanax, but stays in the bloodstream longer or something. Dr. Pretorius was concerned that I was getting a little too used to Xanax, so he wants me to try to gradually come off of that and he'll increase the Zyprexa dosage.

Avatar f tn Yeah, I'll start stuttering and can't stop. I have to stop myself and say it very slowly. Sometimes it feels like my brain is just stuck.
1846821 tn?1321135838 Hi....I had small occasions of stuttering....and not really had it that I can recall since my surgery.....
Avatar n tn My 3.5 yr. old son has begun stuttering. For a long time now (about 6 months or so) he's been repeating words, but I haven't been too concerned about this. However, over the last week or so, he struggles to get the first few letters out. For instance, he'll ask "wwwwwhhhere's the dog?". And I've noticed it often involves the "what", "where", and "why" questions. It doesn't happen all the time.
Avatar f tn The clinical presentation of stroke-associated stuttering is variable and it is important to rule out neurogenic stuttering which typically appears following some sort of injury or disease to the central nervous system such as with stroke. For proper evaluation, it is best that you discuss this with your attending physician or your speech-language pathologist. Treatment will depend on the underlying issue.
Avatar f tn But I was wondering why at the age of 51 is he stuttering now. I have known him since he was 18 and he has never stuttered. Could it be MS?
Avatar m tn Hi I would like to know if after three years of taking low doses of sertraline 25 mg and 2.5 mg of Zyprexa the nausea and dizziness I feel can be due to the discontinuation of the meds. I was prescribed due to a depresion an chronic anxiety conduct. I also experience a bbit of tingling in my hands and feet that goes on and off switching around.
Avatar f tn If so, would this explain my cog issues, and memory, stuttering etc. Problem is, when I saw this dr, I had no cog issues only tremors, no stuttering or vertigo, or ON, all that started like 1 month later, one sx after another. What do you think. Is someone stupid here or what? Or am I overreacting?
1082697 tn?1260064616 Sounds like that Celexa was pooping out on you and you needed the Zyprexa to jump start it. Same thing has happened to me on more than a few antidepressants. Lithium also makes for a good booster drug, but most people don't try it as an add on because they think it's only for Bi-polar.
Avatar f tn I'm a 35year old woman. Week ago started having difficulty talking, a lot of stuttering, can't remember simple words for items sometimes. Dizziness off and on, persistent migraine, balance off and boyfriend says sometimes walk as if drunk. Went to the ER, had ct scan, mri with and without contrast dye. Everything came back normal. ?? Every day that passes my speech and handwriting becomes worse!
Avatar f tn t act impatient - just try and relax and be patient and listen as though stuttering is a very common thing for a child. Your doctor is probably correct - I suspect this will "go away on its own time". One more thing - make sure your son has lots and lots of opportunities for social interaction - he probably will be fine this time next year (if not, then deal with the issue then). All the best ...
1848481 tn?1319676852 However what you are describing is unusual and potentially of concern so it would be worthwhile to speak to your psychiatrist and they can see whether the Zyprexa is just not treating what it was prescribed for yet as it was just started or if it is worsening things and what the specific cause of the insomnia is as that can be treated as well. Also keep a mood tracker and sleep tracker and see how things are on a daily basis and how they change and print out the results for your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn It has been 4 weeks since I took my last pill and have not slept very much at all and feel alot of anxiety and feel like I have bugs under my skin and have no appetite. I find it very diffifuclt to make it through the day at work and my mind is mush. I was told to take 5-htp and would make a big difference. I don't know if it is related to withdrawals or the 5-htp but I really couldn't sleep when I took that, which makes no sense since people take it to help insomnia.
Avatar n tn I took Ativan and Zyprexa together along with Lexapro with no problems other than being a zombie and fattening up my body to 116lbs--which is half of my two pregnancy weights. So--I got off the Zyprexa and now take Lexapro and Ativan (2mg) as needed. I really hated Zyprexa--it made me have a Turtle Brain....
1713187 tn?1368462822 I am on 75mg of methadone and i have been put on 15mg of Zyprexa. It is working great for my mental issues but i missed a doctors appt and ran out. Avatar f tn My son is Stuttering, grinding his teeth when sleeping and making funny throat noises. Is there an underlying issue here? He is active in sports, and does very well academically . Should I be seeking further medical help for him or have him checked out by our doctor?
390140 tn?1219883889 Hi. Found this website by just putting in Abilify. Thought you might like to read it and see if any of the other stuff pertains to you even though it says nothing about stuttering. http://www.abilify.com/abilify/home/index.jsp?
Avatar m tn Are the sudden onset of stuttering and forgetfulness of the correct words to use when speaking a sign of a mild stroke?
Avatar f tn Hello, I took zyprexa (antipsychotic) for 4 years and have taken cymbalta (antidepressant) for 5 years. I gained a lot of weight (50lbs), and started to have insulin resistance problems and high glucose levels. I was put on metformin 500mg once a day for a year. I was told that if I lost the weight my numbers would go back to normal. I lost 40lbs, I am exercising and eating healthy. My doctor told me that I could quit metformin.
