Avatar n tn i was off it a total of 6 days not sleeping, head foggy, irritable, and shaky. I called him and he said it would take 7 to 10 days to get out of my system. On the 6th night I had a major anxiety attack. So now I am back on the Klonopin 1/2mg every night before bed, I sleep now my head is foggy my jaws hurt and I still feel shaky inside and nervous. I want to go off this and will try again. I wish I new more about this before I went on it. i was told it was a safe drug to take.
Avatar m tn These meds can be effective when all else has failed, but the problem with using drugs to help you sleep is that eventually they stop working and you get rebound insomnia, which is even harder to treat and you end up on drugs for sleep forever. Sometimes that's not a bad thing because nothing else was ever found to help -- not meditation, exercise, therapy, nothing.
Avatar n tn Do be too quick to say that guy above is an Idiot (dontakedrugs) He is telling the truth about what part of it i know of. The Increase of prescribing of these "mental health drugs" is MONUMENTAL and very profitable; to be polite. It frightens and saddens me so much talk of XANAX use in great quanities i read here. i use it, but i do not let it USE ME.... i stopped having panic attacks as well.
Avatar f tn We have been with the pain management doctor for just over a year now, but we are constantly fighting my husband's tolerance. My husband is a big guy and he has always been able to drink and take the strongest medication with no effect on his body what so ever.
Avatar f tn After a while (i think 2 months) I reduced the Rivotril, tapering and did well on the Zyprexa. I'm not recommending these particular drugs, I am just saying there are treatments that work and why does she not have access to them? She must be suffering.
1244499 tn?1397549123 Panic Attack control - Alprazolam Clonazepam Diazepam - Most effective of the four listed Lorazepam Sleeping Pills - Lunesta - Worked well but diminished quickly Ambien - Sleep walking Trazadone - Akathisia, also affected anxiety Benadryl - Very effective (when I actually take them) Pain Killers (Analgesic, "self medicating") - Hydrocodone Oxycodone Anti-depressants - Lexapro - Currently taking Wellbutrin XL - Currently taking Nortriptyline Celexa Prozac Paxil - Complete nightm
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have tried a number of medications at different times, usually a combination of 2 or 3 of the following: lithium, prozac, lexapro, seroquel, abilify, risperdal, klonopin, vistaril, zyprexa, ambien, rozerem, & depakote. Zyprexa, Benadryl, Depakote, and Seroquel have caused me to twitch and feel like my skin is crawling an hour (or a few) after I take them.
Avatar f tn He was just taken off zyprexa and zoloft and was prescribed geodan and effexor along with the valium, buspar an ritalin he's also/already been taking. These meds together make little sense to me, seem to contradict each other, God knows the interaction and side effects to worry about. He is all by himself across the country from home, no consistant mental health follow up. My biggest concern is again, the validity of these meds together, and what the heck interactions to be looking for. .
Avatar m tn helps nausea and the runny eyes people get someones during wd..muscle relaxers like flexeril, and many others zyoprexa and many others can help as well...look in ut cabinet and c what u got there if u dont have anything in the cabinet and the valerian or melatonin doesnt work..ask u dr..
968464 tn?1247757430 Try taking 2 Benadryl. Also Valerian root and Melatonin help a little. No sleep can be one of the turfiest parts of detox. It can take some time but it will eventually come.
Avatar f tn The benzos don't help a heck of a lot with sedation ... combined with benadryl and melatonin, you might have some sleep ... Seroquel or Zyprexa in the short-term might be useful, and you might be okay if you taper. I'd try to stockpile the benzos for the really grotty nights.
Avatar n tn I am feeling better every day and the last thing i want to do is go through 4 days of feeling like c r a p. I have tried Lunesta, melatonin and benadryl with no luck. However my sleep is non-existant and so badly needed. Should i try the seroquel for a night? I have read pros and cons about it.
Avatar n tn urologist about 6 months ago, PVR and sono's show some residual still so he is on Septra-SS x1 QD, and Pyridium 100mg BID. He takes nasonex Q HS, and often needs Benadryl for allergies & hives. He has very bad eye sight in one eye, required patch for a summer when he was 5. We attempted to take him to the ER for behavior eval twice last wk. only to get sent home, they didn't feel he was a big enough threat to anyone yet.
1134609 tn?1269275800 Over the past two weeks, my psychiatrist and I have tried Lithium (became very agitated) and Seroquel (made the cycling far worse). We thought about Zyprexa, but it works in the same manner as Seroquel. Anything that has any kind of direct or indirect effect on Serotonin or Dopamine does this too me. Depakote is out of the equation because of it's interaction with Lamictal. Before I was diagnosed with BP Disorder, I was on Celexa and Neurontin consistently, and we tried Buspar and Klonopin..
447130 tn?1225474466 5 yrs later I was up to 800 and my body totally began rejecting the drug. I was put on Zyprexa, 2mg Klonopin, and 300mg Zoloft. After about 7 months on Zyprexa, I had gained 70 lbs and was extremely manic. I went into the hospital and was started back on Seroquel - 300mg at night; 75 mg during the day; no more Knolopin and zoloft was kept the same. This was back in June - it's now the end of October.
Avatar f tn I also have a question about muscle relaxers like Amrix and Zanaflex. I'm trying to go off of my meclazine and this morning has shown me that the next four days are going to be really rough. I would assume that Reglan is also on the list of drugs I can't take. I know Phenergan is not allowed. What about Aleve, indomethacin, and the triptans (Zomig, Imitrex, Maxalt, Relpax) in the event that I do end up getting a migraine during this time?
603015 tn?1329866573 When I developed contact dermatitis, I called my shrink, she said to take some benadryl, monitor it and go into a dermatologist the next day. I was ready to go down to the hospital (I was cycling and dealing with this), but, I went back and looked at it was gone. Initially, it looked like a horrendous, spreading rash and it was just irritation caused by the dry skin.
1134609 tn?1269275800 Three days in, I was so agitated that I took every PRN med I have including Benadryl and Melatonin and I was still up for two days straight.
Avatar m tn pmid=16343787 I saw a neurologist in August. The neurologist performed an EMG, EEG, and an MRI. The EMG measures the electronic signals that are traveling through the nerves after being stimulated by a small electric shock (it's pretty painless). when the muscle is shocked, it should send an electrical signal, then electrical activity should go silent. If the EMG equipment sees ongoing signals afterwards, then that can signify neurological issues.
Avatar n tn hospital (not the one I wanted to go to, the hospital beds were filled up) years ago before recovery and they accidentally gave me the morning dose of my medications not aware I had gotten the night time dose and I had a double dose of Atenolol which is clinically similar to Inderal and I passed out and injured myself in a fall. I am not sure whether this is a medication side effect or an undermonitored suicide attempt.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Wellbutrin XR, Lexapro and Klonopin (as needed.) Last year we added Abilify and the results were incredible. I came out of a very dark place, laughed, chatted, felt positive emotions and, for the first time in 15 years, felt like a "normal" person. But after a month or so I developed severe akathisia. It was so unbearable that I stopped taking Abilify. This year I moved to another state and began seeing a new psychiatrist. I decided to give Abilify another try.
Avatar m tn There is a big difference between temporary movement disorders such as akathesia and dystonia which can be treated with a side effect pill and tardive dyskinesia and its variants. If you are concerned speak to your psychiatrist and have them do a movement disorders test which most psychiatrists do from time to time anyway. They could tell you for sure but there is a big difference between the two and what they look like but a psychiatrist would know for sure.
Avatar n tn I go through the entire scenario of what would happen if my cat (that I am dearly attached to) got ran over by a car and if I could handle it and how I would feel. And if I let him go outside and he got hit by a car, it would be my fault and I could never forgive myself. Or if someone in my family got killed - what would I do? Should I prepare for it ahead of time in case it does happen? I can't sit still and can't concentrate. I stress out over the smallest things.
Avatar n tn The conclusion from the professionals I have seen is that I have a history of migraine headaches and the delivery was just a trigger. I tried BP meds and narcotics the first two months and then moved on to migraine and anti-seizure medications. I have had a MRI, CT scan, spinal tap, a sleep study(all within normal limits). Cleveland Clinic on 5/10/06 and saw Dr. Kriegler and had a 5 hour infusion; by that time I had gotten myself addicted to ibuprofen to assist with pain management.

Avatar n tn I'm currently on lamictal , Zoloft, zyprexa ,vistaril and trilifon....doc accidentally did not fill my vistaril 3 weeks ago before tracing out of country and for 5 days I felt GREAT...got it refilled last week . Wondering if I can take kava on top of all this as I still have some bad anxiety still. Thank you...
Avatar n tn A good illustation of this point is once I made out of rehab and began taking Remeron and Zyprexa, one day I took not one but 2 Zyprexas just to see if I could get some kind of buzz, (It worked too, it felt like I just took 4 antihystimes and I was spacey for 5 hours). Im NOT nocking your program man, but I would SUGGEST one measure of security, (this needs to be done BEFORE begining W/D, while your still high on (Insert favorite Opiate here).
