I am wondering if anyone has tried Zydis. I haven't heard much about it on these boards. I've gained enough weight on regular Zyprexa and wonder if anyone has had fewer side effects with Zydis.

I asked for friends on these boards and got an overwhelming response but I was in the wrong forum. I'm Bipolar and lack support. I'm joing some groups in my area but I would love to have someone to write or speak to. If you've been there and gotten your life back, please leet me know how you did it.

it all started around janurary 22 2008 i was having some bad times me and my boyfriend broke up after 8 years and someone sent a message to my myspace display page saying that i was being tested on the new LSD yeah i know any way before i saw that message i was very depress and sad and was getting sleep but waking up on and off in the middle of the night. before that i was able to sleep 6 hours without waking up.

I'm new to this app and I just realized there were message boards.. I'm wondering if the boards are designed to go By your weeks or age? Sorry If I sound like an idiot but I was just checking..

t see Lyme as a truly serious illness may try to cause trouble for MDs who *do* take Lyme very seriously, and the result could be problems for the Lyme docs with the state medical boards. (The medical boards tend to hold to the old belief that Lyme is no big deal.) Over time, the medical profession will work itself out, but for now, please do NOT post names of any MDs here, in order to protect them.

My doctor suspected I was going to be psychotic becuase my boyfriend broke up with me while I was havely overworked. I had a panic reaction and my doctor gave me zyprexa. I used it for 3 months and I stopped cold turkey because I had uncontrolled movement of arms and legs. The worst withdrawal effects that I suffer from are extreme apathy and insomnia. I have seen posts from others that suffer from this as well, but untill now it doesn't get better and I get worried.

My psychiatrist has just added Zyprexa to take with Prozac as the Prozac is not working like it used to work.I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?

Can anyone give me some info. on zyprexa? Has anyone been given this to help stabalize their mood, during withdrawal? If so, please share with me if you benefited from this, and is this addictive as well?

Hi, I am experiencing burning feet,skin sensitivity and pains in my hands and feet during Zyprexa withdrawal,I`ve been on Zyprexa for 6 years and off it for about 5 months now.Please let me know if the burning feet and all other symptoms will go away with time? Has anyone quit Zyprexa successfully? Please help with any information,many thanks!!

I have been on BP meds for several years. About a year ago I was diagnosed as diabetic. I've heard that the zyprexa and others like it can cause high blood sugar. Diabetes also runs on both sides of my family. Are there any mood stabilizers out there that don't cause Diabetes? I like the Zyprexa because it works really well for me. I guess I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there like me?

I'm bp, been on Zyprexa for 5 yrs off and on, gained weight of course, and know that it has tons of other side effects. But I know Depakote is not without side effects either -- like constipation, liver damager etc. What's worse? Plus, I know it causes weight gain also. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Now, I'm on zyprexa 5mg then increase to 10 mg. Zyprexa instead of Syroquil. Also, monitoring my WBCs to avoid it's down again. The goal is to prevent high mood first then manage and control low mood. My mood include high, low, and mixed moods. Thank you for your time, answer, and help.

I was wondering if anyone on this website is taking zyprexa for racing thoughts and irritability. I started taking it in December for these symptoms but I have put on weight taking this drug. I am not sure if it is the drug itself or if my appetite has increased. In anycase, I am really depressed about this and am thinking of switching medications or just getting off the zyprexa itself. I am also taking 20 mg. of lexapro and this has not caused a past weight gain. Please help!

I took Zyprexa 5mg for 3 nights only to help with sleep, but have not taken it for 2 nights. Had really difficulty getting to sleep and my sleep was really broken up. Is this normal for this med.

Hi Zyprexa (generic Olanzapine) is an atypical antipsychotic medication. Zyprexa is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (manic depression). The most commonly reported side effects are sleepiness or excessive sleeping, dizziness, dry mouth and weight gain. Other side effects include akathisia (an inability to sit still), constipation, dizziness, orthostatic hypotension and tremors.

Just keep googling and searching but stick to the more commendable sites and steer clear from answers on message boards because those are opinions and not scientific research.

How to Stop Taking Zyprexa (olanzapine) Your doctor should be recommending that you reduce your dosage of Zyprexa by 5mg a day every six days if you need to discontinue Zyprexa. Making it a week is just easier to remember. You can stop immediately if it’s an emergency, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that without a doctor’s supervision. hi, im a 23yr old woman who experienced her first episode in october last year, i was at first on 20mg of zyprexa and 1000 mg of epilim when i was in the hospital, and have slowly come down to 1.25 mg of zyprexa and 200mg epilim, been on the 1.25 mg of zyprexa for around a week now and want to reduce further, any advice on how to get down to nothing without going mental! went cold turkey off the meds in nov last year and it didnt go too well.

It was not getting any better, really it was very severe and I became like a skeleton and very irrational. I changed to a top pshychiatrist she gave me anti psychotic zyprexa 5 mg +anti depressant + wham within 4 days I was completely normal! Now for maintenance (3years down the line) I just take 1.25 mg zyprexa with low dose antidepressant, it keeps me completely stable.

In January of this year I began using Zyprexa for bipolar and psychosis. After 5 months of using the medication (20mg daily) I began experiencing some sexual side effects such as a dry orgasm, low sperm count, etc. - all of which were unexplainable. My psychiatrist asked that i stop the zyprexa immediately as it was causing an increase in prolactin levels, he asked that i stop the drug COLD TURKEY! (no weaning off) - When I stopped the medication, i did not sleep for 4 days.
