Zyprexa in the morning

Common Questions and Answers about Zyprexa in the morning

zyprexa

Avatar n tn have been on 5mg of zyprexa for 21/2 months and i feel groggy in the morning, slightly depressed until i have some coffee. i missed a dose on purpose to see how i would feel in the morning and i had a great sleep, felt less anxious because i wasn't fatigued from too much sleep. but didn't want to miss more than 1 dose but am concerned that maybe 5mg. is too much to take or that it might not be the drug i should be taking.
Avatar n tn My psychiatrist has just added Zyprexa to take with Prozac as the Prozac is not working like it used to work.I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?
Avatar m tn My doctor has put me on Lamictal 25mg in the morning with my usual morning dose of Efexor 150mg. He has also put me on Zyprexa 5mg to help me sleep, as my sleep has been very broken, and I became very anxious. Will it be difficult to come off Zyprexa as I don't want to be permanently on this ? Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
1082697 tn?1260064616 it actually keeps me awake if i take it at night. so i take it in the morning. thanks so much again.
8798274 tn?1399988458 Really, there was a change on my brain after stopping Zyprexa. It is hard to explain or describe. Imagine that you wake up in the morning full of energy and you keep that way for ever. It is like something in the brain was permanently turned ON. I have checked journals and a lot of websites looking for answers and help. There are a lot of people with chronic insomnia and the common factor is Zyprexa withdrawal. Must be an explanation for that. I am thinking to report my case to FDA.
Avatar n tn However, its less of a mood stabilizer so you might need to take one in addition and generally Lamictal is the least sedating out of the mood stabilizers in conventional use. You could speak to your psychiatrist about that as well.
Avatar m tn t experience withdrawal from Zyprexa, especially since the new drug, Seroquel, was in the same class. So I was told I had an inner ear problem for the last four months and have been suffering through these symptoms. I finally got fed up, and after seeing many other doctors who couldn't find anything wrong with my ears, I am convinced it is from the Zyprexa. I am back on it and I am going to try weaning off of it next month. I'm on 5 mg.
1848481 tn?1319676852 s taken the med) is how did your body/mind react the first couple of days on Zyprexa? They say the most common side effect is sedation, which is why I was told to take it at night... maybe I should just talk to the doctor about taking it in the morning? Any other input/advice/experiences on the drug would be appreciated as well. What were/are your experiences with Zyprexa (olanzapine)?
Avatar n tn my son take 7.5 mg of abilify in the morning and 15 mg of zyprexa. when abitatlify started to take. he is talking to himselff. is it bad . is it induced psychosis. he was on zyprexa -. foe 5months. not much omprovement. how long it take to get better with these combinations.
Avatar m tn I have the same symptons of Sketch2000 . I was put in risperdal in August 2010, because of a benzo withdrawal, and then on zyprexa, and since then I never feel tired, even if I exercise; I never have the sleepy sensation before the sleep. When I sleep, is like a switch in my brain: something turns off, and I sleep; and when I awake, something is turned on, and I am widely awake. I have no emotions - nothing can excite or depress me.
Avatar n tn s of zyprexa and it seems to me that this drug is still very strong in the morning and I am very anxious. Later on in the day I feel better. Is this a side effect?
1082697 tn?1260064616 i am wondering if anyone has experienced this. did the depression cause my pain? i have not had any bad side affects on the zyprexa. in fact i have so much energy now. i tend to get into deep depression so bad i can hardly get out of bed. i have been taking the zyprexa for about 4 weeks now. the doctor put me on since my citalopram needed a boost. the med i take is vicodin. and i wanted to get off it anyway. i take 3 a day. but now i do not need them.
Avatar m tn I asked him to give me something to help me through the next few days. He told me he wanted me back on the zyprexa and gave me samples for the next month due to the cost of the medicine. So I went back on zyprexa hoping it wouldl make me feel lilke my self again. I took them for the next 30 days and everything went back to normal except the anxiety feeling and the constant worrying.I also felt like I was in a fog mentally and had lost my sex drive.
1257808 tn?1322762215 Since I was on Zyprexa, I started eat a lot. I can't stop eating. I change the medication to abilify but I still eat too much. My current medications are Abilify 7.5mg, Gabapentin 800mg, Citalpram 40mg. Now my weight increased 15 kg. That's too much.
Avatar f tn This thread to harm zyprexa users. This discussion is not useful.
487506 tn?1208855811 It takes 6 weeks for the full effect of Zyprexa to kick in once you start therapy on it. Any atypical-antipsychotic must be taperd off to avoid a shock to your system and the chemical balance to your brain. I am willing to bet you are having awful withdrawl. I hope this helps.
874521 tn?1424116797 BP are dangerous criminals when in mania (this is how the society looked in the past at them usually they put them in aylum and hospitals) so they better be must be isolated in order not to hurt others. Hence the 3 classical British mentioned in their books meds for this (lithium, depakote, tegretol) must be to knock on the patient's head as simple as that.
Avatar n tn Ask your doctor about increasing your klonopin substantially for the next two weeks, which should stop most of the withdrawal symptoms, then cut that back down over a three week period.
574118 tn?1305135284 I tried to see whether it's due to the AD (stablon) or the seroquel. I found out that all atypical antipsychotics do it. Here a paragraph from the web """ I have schizoaffective disorder. After having taken clozapine/Clozaril for two years, I started to have akathisia. Akathisia makes me feel like I can't sit still, I have to walk around, and I feel like I want to jump out of my skin. It is so bad that short of discontinuing clozapine I would have to be hospitalized.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am experiencing burning feet, skin sensitivity and pains in my hands and feet during Zyprexa withdrawal,I`ve been on Zyprexa for 6 years and off it for about 5 months now. Please let me know if the burning feet and all other symptoms will go away with time? Has anyone quit Zyprexa successfully? Please help with any information, many thanks!!
739988 tn?1386672969 I myself gained 35 pounds when I was on Zyprexa. Abilify the least likely but it still can happen. The antipsychotic agent I am on in Phase II FDA study won't do this but it hasn't been studied for mood stabilization yet and I need a mood stabilizer as well. Out of the mood stabilizers, Lithium and Depakoate are more likely to cause weight gain than Lamictal so Lamictal might be one viable option.
1082697 tn?1260064616 all her other patients get sleepy on it and have to take it at night . i have to take it in the morning. my body reacts so different to meds. i know sleeping pills do nothing for me. thanks so much for replying.
1257808 tn?1322762215 Good choice on the Zyprexa! I won't put my two cents in on that drug. I have heard good things from many people about Abilify. We'll keep our fingers crossed.
Avatar n tn My Boyfriend (rather ex-boyfriend) had the same problem, he gained 40lb while on xyprexa (50 mg!!). It does cause weight gain, however if this is what helps you manage the disorder, that is more important than weight gain. Recently, my boyfriend stopped taking his medication, and went into a manic state. Your piece of mind is way more important than anything. While on xyprexa, kinda try to change your habits: stay active and eat small meals when you have a craving. I hope this helps.
559058 tn?1215810834 one reason i switched from depkote besides the weight gain, severe hair thinning and dull being.also you will have to get blood work more frequently to make sure the depakote in within blood levels. i was only on depakote xl not the reg strength one. the med did keep me calm. i am on lamictal and now i feel human again.. however this med (depakote)may be good for you.
Avatar f tn I know it has been some time since your post, but I do have a lot of experience of the subject. I started taking Zyprexa in 1997 and am still taking it in 2009. I started at 40mg for a few years, then down to 20mg where my pdoc wants me to stay. However, I doubled my weight in the first few months and still have a whale of an appetite every single day. So I experiment from time to time in reducing the dose.
