Zoloft withdrawal time

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft withdrawal time

zoloft

Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn What your going through does sound like withdrawal. I'm really surprised your Dr did'nt have you taper from this med. Even with you starting it again it may take a couple of days to feel better. Plus your only taking half the dose. I've never taken Zoloft but several other antidepressants and I've always tapered or went straight to another med. Hopefully others members that have taken this med will be able to help you with the tapering process. I hope you feel better soon..
Avatar f tn I used the exact same tapering schedule to wean myself off Zoloft. In my case, I didn't experience any withdrawal effects.
Avatar m tn //mentalhealthdaily.com/2014/04/15/zoloft-sertraline-withdrawal-symptoms-list-duration/ I was listening to a song I always use to think was very catchy before I took Zoloft, and now I can't figure out what was so appealing about the song. Do you think that's from lack of emotion combined with the other symptoms I've been having?
Avatar n tn I would give the 50mg of zoloft a bit of time, paxils a really hardcore drug (well...the withdrawal symptons are) and when I went off paxil, I was awake a lot, never felt tired, just restless. i've heard some people say that paxils withdrawal symptoms persist for a long time, (maybe a few months?) so I'm not sure. I would give it a little more time for your body to adjust. if the problem still persists, then try seeing if your doctor will switch you to something else.
Avatar f tn I started out on Wellbutrin 100mg SR twice a day. I had problems with insomnia so my psych added 100mg Zoloft and changed the Wellbutrin to 150mg XL once a day. I take the Wellbutrin in the morning and I take the Zoloft at night at night before I go to sleep. I wake up feeling really groggy and foggy headed. It takes me a good few hours to fully wake up. I'm good for a few hours and then by 12pm I just crash. By 9pm I'm wide awake!
Avatar f tn Hello! I found Zoloft working well at 50 mg. for me. I was up to 100 mg. and had bad side effects, but everyone's body reacts differently to this drug. Thank you for responding. I'm hoping that the side effects will be gone by the end of this month. I'm going to see a therapist tomorrow. I would like to start cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe this will help during my difficult time. Thank you for responding! Do you mind me asking what your doctor switched you too?
Avatar m tn You shouldn't be taking narcotic pain medication that isn't prescribed to you to treat this kind of pain. If you're having pain, see your doctor. Anything else is just abusing the medications, which will take you down a dark dark path. You've already admitted using your Mom's opiate pain pills to help medicate away the symptoms of anxiety and depression. That's super common, and rarely ends well. I know, you don't want to hear that...
Avatar m tn s not common to have withdrawal effects when you were only on a small dose for such a short amount of time -- probably not even enough time for the Zoloft to start working. It takes 4-6 weeks for it to work, but unfortunately the side effects start right away. But withdrawal usually doesn't happen unless the drug has been well metabolized, worked, and was in the system long enough for the brain to have problems operating without the drug.
Avatar f tn I hear paxil if very hard to go off. I would hope the zoloft will start to work after some time, it took me 6-8 weeks for it to work? Are you taking the med for depression? Did the Dr. give you anything for short term to help?
Avatar f tn It most likely is withdrawal. It's dangerous to not take these types of medications as prescribed, and you never want to abruptly just stop these types of medications due to withdrawal. I assume and hope that the Zoloft was prescribed by a psychaitrist? If so he would be able to tell you how to taper off. Also, being without the medication may be causing you anxiety, which in turn will cause your current symptoms. All this may also mean you still need the medication.
Avatar f tn I have posted here before about Lexapro pooping out after 10 years...bummer! I suffer from pretty bad gad and panic. My psychiatrist basically refused to put me on another SSRI and insisted on Effexor. I find Effexor too stimulating. I didn't care for this doc from the jump and have now found a new one. New doc says Effexor is a good drug for very depressed people but not for primary anxiety. She is taking me off Effexor 75 mg and onto Zoloft. I have only been on Effexor 6 1/2 weeks.
Avatar f tn How then is a person suppose to know whether they have a chemical imbalance or they are psychologically dependent on Zoloft? When my doctor started me on Zoloft he said I had a chemical imbalance. I guess I would like to know more about a chemical imbalance and if you have that condition, does it ever change with time as a person takes the medication, or are we always imbalanced? So, as you see, this can be confusing to me. I feel that this is a very important question.
Avatar f tn What you're now on is Prozac. Two problems potentially here. First, you can't just quit Zoloft -- you need to taper off it as most people get some withdrawal from quitting these meds. That most likely explains your symptoms more so than the Prozac. Often, at the tail end of a taper down, Prozac will be used to help when withdrawal is bad because it's considered easier to stop taking, but that's only at the very end of the taper.
Avatar m tn Today I took 1 Vicodin (Labeled M367, 10/325 norco) I took my last Zoloft 14 days ago. I was on 50 mg Zoloft. I took my first Zoloft pill on December 19, 2014 and I took my last Zoloft pill on January 19, 2015. I'm currently going through Zoloft withdrawals and have many of the typical Zoloft withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal?
255163 tn?1376869746 I hope someone can answer this question. I have been taking 50mg zoloft once a day for 16 days only. I stopped cold turkey. It's been 6 days without taking any and have no withdrawal symptoms at all.. Does anyone know if the zoloft is all out of my system by now. Thank you in advance.
94902 tn?1330479667 t help but to think - what if its something else and not the Zoloft withdrawal. Anyone had experience coming off of Zoloft? Or had the funny head feelings that I mentioned above? Any comments would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Did you taper slowly off the Zoloft or quit abruptly? Either way, it can be withdrawal from stopping the Zoloft -- it needs to be stopped as slowly as suits the particular individual and even then most people get withdrawal symptoms when stopping it, some moderate, some severe., some for a very short time, some for a very long time.
Avatar n tn I had mild anxiety last july 2008 and my family doctor prescribed me buspar. After two weeks I felt very blue, and was put on 50 mg of zoloft. The zoloft didn't seem to help too much. It somewhat cured the depression but not the anxiety. In september, bumped it up to 75(anxiety with school). After another month of feeling like a zombie, I met with a doctor and made the decision to wean off 25 mg every 3 weeks. Weaning off 75 to 50 was pretty easy, felt a little tired the first few days.
Avatar m tn Will my brain and body still heal from the Zoloft withdrawal even if I'm taking Vicodin? Will taking Vicodin interfere with the Zoloft withdrawal process?
Avatar f tn Don't know about Zoloft with Adipex, I know not to take it with MAO inhibitors. But google it -- on site said it does cause withdrawal if you've been on it for a long time, mostly extreme tiredness and depression, and to go off slowly under a physician's care.
