Zoloft jaw pain

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft jaw pain

zoloft

17020225 tn?1455749597 So the jaw clenching hasn't stopped. I went back to the doctor after a month on celexa for a follow up. I told them about the clenching, and they seemed surprised. Said they haven't heard of that side effect before. Which is the same thing my pharmacist said. I thought it was odd because antidepressants are listed as a cause for bruxism. But any way they decided to have me try Zoloft now. So hopefully that'll work for the anxiety and stop the jaw clenching.
Avatar n tn oh wait I thought I was the only one who experienced the jaw pain!!!! but I only recently experienced the jaw pain when coming off totally from Zoloft...chest pain is a serious thing...but I am only getting the heavy chest feeling and I know it is the withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm new to this forum. I've been on Zoloft (100mg) for 2 months. I have a debilitating side effect - it creates muscle spasms in my heat, jaw, neck & back. Not able to function normally. Pdoc put me on Trepiline 10mg a week ago, as it's a muscle relaxant. It has helped, although I am still having bad pain & earache. Has anyone has any experience with Zoloft causing painful muscle spasms? I would be most grateful for any input. Many thanks.
Avatar m tn Hi! Are you currently taking any medication for your anxiety? I'm curious because I am having a time with my jaw being really tight and having pain and soreness! I am on 75 mg of Zoloft and I don't recall it starting until I started on medication, but I know clenching in general from anxiety or from anti-depressants can cause clenching of teeth, which can cause the jaw pain. I also have the exact same thing with my arms. I have, too, been afraid of it being heart related.
Avatar f tn and I decided to try an extremely low dose of zoloft again but 2 days into it, started jaw clenching again. Calling Dr. tomorrow. So sad.
Avatar f tn I found out when my ears kept feeling stuffed and I finally saw an ENT who told me it was from jaw clenching. So who knows what Zoloft can do to any particular person? On the other hand, after just three days, it isn't causing it anymore, and if you still have it, it's more likely your anxiety is holding on to it -- conditioned thinking is what plagues us anxiety sufferers. Work on this with your CBT person and see if it helps.
Avatar f tn My doctor recenlty made a change and brought me down to 7.5mg due to fatigue and jaw clenching. He also added a small dose on kolonopin .25mg in the evening to assist with the jaw clenching. I was doing o.k until last week when I started to feel very blue and having some crying spells. On Sunday night I then started having a bit of increased anxiety and a couple of small panic attacks.
Avatar m tn I mentioned about switching from Effexor Xr 225mg (which on my own I lowered to 150mg) He said that Effexor XR affects two different areas of the body whereas Zoloft only affects one area. Now he mentioned NOTHING about keep taking the Effexor Xr in lower does while I make hte switch to Zoloft. Am I supposed to just switch right over to Zoloft and discontinue the Effexor Xr??
2036337 tn?1337104009 Hi, I'm 21, and I've been dealing with anxiety since January. I am completely terrified all of the time, and I just don't know what to do anymore... I've been having severe chest pain, arm pain, jaw pain, headaches... you name it, I've had it. The chest pain is what concerns me the most, but I can't seem to shake it. I've had multiple EKGs, bloodwork, Chest X-rays, everything... and the doctors all say that it's anxiety.
Avatar n tn t really have the dizziness anymore, and my headaches are located only in my temples, on the muscle that pops out when i move my jaw. I also have pretty bad jaw pain, and pain around my ears and down the sides of my face. My jaw has been clicking when i open it wide and to chew, and my ears remain painful to the touch. I also have pain in my neck, on the sides and in the back, the muscles feel very hard, and it gets worse when I am nervous.
Avatar n tn diarrhea, rectal bleeding, heart palpitations, severe sleep apnea, foggy feelings, specific phobias, aches, jaw pain, it goes on and on. how can i calm my nerves and just live life? is it death anxiety or could it be a real physical problem?
Avatar f tn My symptoms have been chest pressure, left shoulder pain that goes down into my arm, elbow and forearm, pain between my shoulder blades, jaw/tooth/ear pain on the left side and a feeling of a lump in my throat. These symptoms come and go, I always have at least one at any given time and nothing seems to make it better. I can have these symptoms while exerting myself or while just sitting there.
1855970 tn?1325823613 ive been dealing with anxiety for a few months, but recently ive been having symptoms that really concern me. i have a lot of neck pain/stiffness on the left side, head pressure, ear fullness, throat tigjtness, always tired, dry eyes and the sensation of something stuck on the right side of my throat. i can pretty much deal with everytging except for the feeling of something in my throat, its driving me crazy.
Avatar n tn The reason for the change was because of severe side effects. Dizziness, tremors, jaw pain, loud ringing in ears, nausea were the main issues. Now being off the med for 13 days, and have been off of work since Feb. 3rd, I continue to have problems. I cannot drive or even ride in a vehicle without getting severe dizziness. This also happens when watching TV when fast movements cross the screen.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if taking Zoloft had any effect on trying to get a good deep breaths, i have been having problems and always yawning to get a good deep breath. does any body else have problems like this and also take Zoloft.
Avatar n tn m going to probably get off zoloft completely and try something else. Maybe zoloft has just run its course with me. But i'm going to keep giving it a chance and not give up on the plan yet.
Avatar f tn I've been on Zoloft for one week now and all I'm getting is these terrible side effects and no relief! My head is foggy my anxiety is thru te roof and I don't feel any better, I'm tired, my jaw is always tense etc. :( also my calves are sore? Is this all normal? When will this get better? I'm trying so hard to stick it through but I suffer from panic and this is not helping! Anybody come out on the other side if this? I need positive responses please!
Avatar n tn ( had blood tests they came bk OK as did X-ray I can't bare it anymore
Avatar m tn When I was 13 until I was 16 I was prescribed Zoloft for anxiety. The Zoloft gave me mood swings so I was also prescribed Lamictal to deal with, what they then decided was Bipolar Disorder. (A few years later I saw a number of psychologists, all of which assured me I was not Bipolar) To deal with the hyperactive effects of the Lamictal, they perscribed Adderal.
Avatar n tn Please advise how long term use (5 years) of anti-depressants and anti-psychotic meds like venlafaxine, olonzapine, zoloft, and prozac, even high stress, can create gum disease and jaw bone degeneration. Thanks. boxcar.
1379090 tn?1279032110 I take wellbutrin and recently stopped zoloft. My psych told me that wellbutrin increases sweating. I have horrible night sweats and start sweating at the drop of a hat during the day. And I'm only 25 so it has to be the medication. It's so bad that I've considered getting off the wellbutrin as well. I'd rather be deppresed than soaked with sweat all day!
Avatar f tn Started having major stuffiness in my left ear and pain behind and in front of my ear and when i would open my mouth my jaw made cracking noises. Some mornings when i would wake up my jaw on the left side would be locked. Dr recommended seeing ENT about my ears and throat and the fact that while all this was going on i was constantly having allergy problems. The ENT did scope down throat said everything looked inflamed and diagnosed LPR and allergies.
Avatar f tn I have been on Sertraline (Zoloft) for over 2 months now, for depression that's borderline bipolar, and I am still yawning and have gotten TMJ. I also keep having to take deep breaths until I can't take in any more air- not yawning-; I am clenching my jaw a lot still and having to open my mouth as wide as I can- again, not yawning- which makes me look a liiiiittle crazy! Anyone know of anything that might stop or alleviate these problems?
Avatar n tn I have recently been going through all the same sort of symptoms as you have listed, including the jaw pain. I think it is hormone related as I have heard of other people going through it too. I am currently getting tested and may be referred to an endocrinologist shortly to find out if my symptoms are due to early menopause. So if I find out anymore about it, I will let you know.
Avatar n tn I woke up yesterday with horrendous jaw pain (mostly left side). Has anyone experience this? Any suggestions on how to relieve the pain? Or what may be causing it?
Avatar m tn s a very good idea to seek therapy ~ it can make a world of difference in your life! Regarding the jaw pain; clenching jaw muscles can affect your neck and jaw, it is actually a common symptom for many people who suffer from anxiety. If it is extreme, you can ask your dentist for a mouth guard, which can help reduce the pain and also save your teeth from any future damage ( use it at night while you sleep, or if you nap anytime)...
