Zoloft for nerve pain

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft for nerve pain

zoloft

Avatar f tn I'm not sure Zoloft causes nerve pain. The pain caused by antidepressants is usually muscular, and is often caused because it interferes with the absorption of magnesium. You should know that these side effects might have gone away with time, or they might not. Only using them for 4-6 weeks, the time it takes to know if they work or not, will tell, but side effects start right away. You might want to make a new post to get more help, as this post is very old.
Avatar f tn t know why he would be experiencing pain, but maybe he has a fungus or infection. He was given zoloft for premature ejaculation and doxycycline for any possible infections and was told to put diaper cream on his glans. I'm not sure this is the right course of action, wouldn't I have an infection if he did? I've had no abnormal paps since this has occured. The only difference between now and before his pain is that he led a much more physically active lifestyle.
1298907 tn?1272886488 Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well today. It seems as if spring has finally come to Idaho! The sun is out & I'm excited to get out & try & work in my garden now that I'm feeling better this year! Yaaay! Can anyone tell I'm a stay at home mom who likes to talk? My 2 year old keeps me company all day & Lord knows I love him with all my heart but sometimes we all just need a little bit of adult conversation!
Avatar f tn I developed sever depression and anxiety after I got hurt and had to have several surgeries and now live with chronic pain. For my nerve pain I took Valium for about 18 months. I would also use the Valium to help with my anxiety because I had it so why not. My pain management dr started me on Zoloft and it helped with my depression and anxiety. After about 8 months I started taking lyrica for my nerve pain so I no longer needed to have Valium.
Avatar m tn 3 years is a really long time to suffer anything! My husband also will say he has chest pain. As he has heart disease in his family, he's also had about a gazillion tests. For him, anxiety. That is the final diagnosis. He takes Zoloft and it helps. He still will tell me has occasional chest pain but he is checked annually with nothing showing up. He does have high cholesterol which is completely controlled with medication. Have you ever looked into anxiety?
4927707 tn?1361144882 In my experience, I also was initially nervous about starting medication. For me, Zoloft has helped as I went through counseling. Remember, that we are very sensitized to so many symptoms that it can be difficult to start something that we are already nervous about.
4927707 tn?1361144882 32, just started Zoloft 2 days ago for anxiety, on 10mg lisinopril, have acid reflux/gerd am on prilosec for. Just had my blood work done, LDL 131 HDL 42 TRI 328. everything else normal. had a ekg done at docs on Tuesday and was normal and have a appointment with a cardio tmrw morning. My concern is this: lately around 3am i wake up with a racing heart rate 120+ and feel like i'm having a heart attack....takes awhile for me to calm down and subside.
Avatar f tn The primary doctor said i have virual virus do to allergies, so i saw my doctor who precribed me the Zoloft he said not take zoloft for two weeks until i get better from this virual virus then try the zoloft again if you have reaction to it stop the zoloft then wait a week and try different medicine called citalpram 20mm. i am so sacred to taking any medicine because i am so sentitive to medicine anyway.
Avatar m tn I've had this for 3 months now everytime I swallow I get this long nerve twitch its under my left chin I haven't told a dr I'm on zoloft for about 3 months 100 could this be amxiety plz help
1359227 tn?1282522148 I have given it to alot of patients with nerve pain; it worked for some and not for others. I have never taken it personally. You should just take it and see if it works for you.
1131237 tn?1260211024 I have been on zoloft for almost 20 yrs, have tried several other anti-depressants in the past but always come back to Zoloft. My physician has suggested effexor which I tried and it helped with my nerve pain, but made me a little "nuts". Now my new doc wants to add a norepinefrin to my or something else since my siutation healthwise is so despairing at times....plus with Zoloft, weight loss is almost impossible, which would help my health issues.
Avatar m tn Pain under chin with spasm more noticeable when swallowing I'm taking Zoloft 100 and klonopin 0.
Avatar n tn have you ever taken a nerve pill, or tryed a different med besides zoloft. years ago i tryed zoloft and it just did not work for me, i pretty sure i have tryed everything. cymbolta and klonipin did the trick. but am 29 years old and my anxiety started when i was 19 and i was a major hypochondriac myself everyday i thought i was going to die. it was terrible, but like i said the meds im on now im able to work, be social, and not self medicate with other things.
489656 tn?1249999983 ( I did start zoloft a few days ago. Dont know if that matters. Thanks for any help!
Avatar f tn This is a common phenomenon for people getting off Zoloft. (And even people who miss a dose of Zoloft.) I've never found a doctor who knows the cause of this, but every one that I've asked believes that it is harmless. Especially because literally hundreds of people experience it (which you will see when you do that Google search and find them on message boards like this), and it almost always goes away once the Zoloft has worked its way out of your system.
Avatar f tn Again, just my opinion. Zoloft is used not only for depression but anxiety too. Many people do very well on it. It can take awhile to build up in your system so don't get upset if you do not see results immediately. You may have some nausea and a little dizziness the first few days. Don't worry if you do because this is common with most of these meds. Then again, you may not have any start up side effects. We're here to listen and help you anyway we can.
Avatar n tn Good morning Kristen, I don't feel that I have a whole lot of info to share with you but I wanted to post anyway just in case you see something in my post that helps you. I'll start by telling you that I have not taken Zoloft or Ativan. If your Doctor knew you were taking the Ativan, she should know that Zoloft is listed as a possible interaction on the Ativan prescribing label. I may be on the market for a new Doc if something like this had happened to me.
5255779 tn?1414034937 There have been commercials for zoloft causing birth defects. I stopped taking mine immediately when me and my boyfriend decided to try for a baby. Now im 20 weeks and 2 days.
Avatar f tn I am having really awful intermittent pain in my arm. My neuro wrote a script for Lyrica. My big concern about these nerve pain drugs (Neurontin too) is the weight gain side effect. I struggle w/weight as it is and don't look forward to adding more. Please let me know what you may have experienced.
Avatar m tn Thanks for reply. Went last week to doctor. I was on Zoloft for 2 weeks and had some urinary side effects (excessive urinating). He checked for UTI and it was negative. Checked my prostate and it was normal size. Did blood work to check for PSA, to cover all bases. Will find out about that today or tomorrow. I have suffered from Anxiety for a very very long time and never took medication until recently.
