1806609 tn?1374545828 I know that depression and chronic pain is defiantly linked. I have major depression and panic disorder and been on lexapro, wellbutrin and zoloft and none of these meds seem to help with the depression. i heard that it's pretty common for the meds to not help some people. To be honest, I am also tired of going to doctors and having them change my meds and put me on new ones that end up doing nothing. Therapy doesn't seem to help at all. There are days when I cannot get out of bed.
Avatar f tn I have several chronic pain conditions and have been on heavy duty pain meds for years. I have been weaning off as fast as I can as I was planning on getting pregnant next year sometime. However... life throws you surprises and well here I am. I am on methadone and morphine. I'm down to only 5-10mg of methadone and 15-30mg of morphine daily. I am still having pain and need some amount to make life tolerable. However I know it's horrible for baby! Any tips?
Avatar m tn Yes, anxiety and depression will contribute, but I also agree with the post above. I deal with anxiety and depression myself, so I know it's only part of the picture. Do ask about this test. One home remedy you can try is making a decoction (a way of making tea from roots and seeds) with ginger root. It is easy to make and inexpensive. It either works for you or it doesn't, but at least it isnt outrageously expensive like the Zofran is.
2932946 tn?1344722012 m thankful for that. My doctor just tells me to take Tylenol or ibprofen first then resort to my pain meds if it doesn't go away. But i take up to 4 Tylenol or ibprofen at a time just about twice a day. usually lessens it but doesn't go away. I know its not good to take that much Tylenol, anyone else have any other options that help with their headaches?
Avatar n tn The chronic digestive issues and pain are impossible to treat successfully because my belly cannot tolerate pain meds. I have taken Zoloft for years, with a long list of other antidepressants over the prior 25 years. I'm just stuck. It's hard to fake it til you feel it anymore.
Avatar f tn i was bound to an opiate addiction for almost 10 yrs due to chronic pain and am now 2 and a half yrs sober. i had a hypothyroidism problem as well, and was prescribed medicine to help with metabolism. to give you an update as to where i am today... i am still taking methadone for chronic pain. i stopped taking zoloft 2 months ago at my own volition and do NOT take any SSRIs. i no longer have a thyroid problem, and no longer need to take medicine for it.
Avatar m tn To be honest I think the lack of motivation to being creative is what is affecting me on a creative level. My lack of motivation must be because of chronic pain and depression because of it too. Anyway, I want to avoid stimulants as I have muscle spasms issues which is probably causing my chronic occipital neuralgia. You can also try to get off the medication and go with a more natural approach such as St John's Wort, healthy diet, exercise etc.
Avatar f tn I started at 25mg for a week and then 50mg for a month and then 75mg for another month up to 100mg where I stayed for 3 months. I got better and went back down to 50mg and then quit altogether after 8 months of treatment. I did great. No problems at all. Fast forward to October 2015 and I got a back injury followed by a health scare after an affair while I was separated in summer 2014. Found out I was pregnant and diagnosed with ectopic though it turned out to be a blighted ovum.
Avatar f tn I developed sever depression and anxiety after I got hurt and had to have several surgeries and now live with chronic pain. For my nerve pain I took Valium for about 18 months. I would also use the Valium to help with my anxiety because I had it so why not. My pain management dr started me on Zoloft and it helped with my depression and anxiety. After about 8 months I started taking lyrica for my nerve pain so I no longer needed to have Valium.
611964 tn?1223767720 t come through yet, and they just said there was nothing on it. The 35 symptoms is CHRONIC PAIN SYMDROME!!! Zoloft and Xanax will help. I am so DEPRESSED at this point. I am researching Dr.'s who are LLMD in this area. How about a Rheumatoid Dr. Spelled that wrong, I am sure!!!!
Avatar n tn I have been taking Zoloft for over 2 years now and last year I began having severe sweating attacks. I call them attacks because they come on like a hot flash and in minutes I will have soaked a shirt to where you can ring it out! I have them at night and my pillow will be so wet, that it drips off the corner. this is no exaggeration, other symptoms are fatigue, insomnia, blurred vision, dizzy, weight gain, weakness and trembling. My testosterone has dropped to 90 from 190.
Avatar f tn It's true, for many people a drug doesn't work again after you stop taking it. It's usually after you've been on a drug for a long time. But for many other people, they do work again and again and again. You've already done it twice and it worked twice, so for you so far you haven't had this problem. And it doesn't mean you get more side effects, it means the drug doesn't work, which usually means fewer side effects.
Avatar f tn I take mine for pain tolerance as I deal with several chronic pain issues. I am also weaning off my pain meds. Its hard. I will take as little as I can tolerate. Good luck!
Avatar n tn i have headaches, dizzyness and nausea, a fuzzy feeling as if i have cotton in my brain, severe joint and muscle pain and i could go on.. i am so tired i just think about when i can go to sleep. ...consequntly i have a feeling of guilt and depression because i am always saying i don t feel well. i am 54 and feel 84. i feel as if i have the flu and u wait to feel better...but it never comes.
Avatar f tn I have taken Zoloft for over 15 years for depression. It says that dry eye/eye pain can be a symptom of zoloft and other anti-depressents. I also take Melatonin to help with sleep almost every night. Just curious to see if there is any pattern to what may be causing this. If you have Recurrent Corneal Erosion and you take either melatonin or Anti-depressents, please let me know. Maybe there is a common thread? thanks!!
647120 tn?1256601651 s experience been with methodone, Fentanyl patch, or morphine MS (extended release capsules) for chronic pain? I finally got to a pain manager who seems to be a good fit, and she wants me to reduce my use of Klonopin before starting me on one of these drugs. They all sound so heavy-duty I'm a little nervous about it. I tired of the roller coaster of leg on 200mg of Tramadol, 600 mg of Neurontin, 1500 mg Robaxin, and 118mg of Effexor XR (trying to get to 150mg) a day.
Avatar f tn Im currently 21 weeks pregnant and im taking 25mg of zoloft for my depression and anxiety and now i have kidney stones so im taking the antibiotic macrobid, phengran for nausea and tylenol 3 for the pain of the kidney stones my question is, is it ok to take these medications together im scared that taking all these meds will hurt my baby
Avatar f tn I've taken 25mg Zoloft for 6 days and 50mg for 2 days. Anxiety is better generally all day yesterday but even with Lunesta, only slept 2 hours and then off and on for the rest of the night. Woke up anxious. I believe if I could get more sleep, it would help my anxiety. Original cause for meeting with my doc was for insomnia. Does sleeping get better?
17020225 tn?1455749597 So the jaw clenching hasn't stopped. I went back to the doctor after a month on celexa for a follow up. I told them about the clenching, and they seemed surprised. Said they haven't heard of that side effect before. Which is the same thing my pharmacist said. I thought it was odd because antidepressants are listed as a cause for bruxism. But any way they decided to have me try Zoloft now. So hopefully that'll work for the anxiety and stop the jaw clenching.
1128643 tn?1262483649 Hello there, Cymbalta is a SNRI which mean it will affect your serotonin level but also your norepinephrine level which can be translated into adrenaline which results into a energy boost and less pain. I am on Cymbalta and Lyrica for chronic nerves pain due to compression of the suboccipital triangle causing pressure on the C2 originating nerves resulting in occipital neuralgia and myofacial pain.
707891 tn?1231194341 I too have chronic pain & constant illness. I have had test after test and I am very close to a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I've recently started taking vitamin supplements to boost my immunity. It seemed to help. I started on a Magnesium, Vit K, Vit D & Calcium supplement just Friday. Did you know that Magnesium deficiency is related to the following ? Fibromyalgia, ADD, Asthma, Mitrovalve Prolapse (75% of Fibro patients have.
Avatar m tn Hi, my name is Lukas, I am 18 years old (19 in September) and have an unusual case of neuromuscular pain that I've suffered from since I was 10 years old, but all of the doctors I've seen say that my condition could most likely be fibromyalgia or some type of chronic neuromuscular pain, but are still perplexed at my condition. I've already seen a Rheumatologist although the pain is not in the joints, just the muscles. I have also seen my family practitioner.
Avatar n tn Zyban is a very effective medicine to help stop smoking. You need to take it for 10-14 days before it starts to work, so pick a date - say 2 weeks away - that you want to quit smoking, and start taking the Zyban immediately. Zoloft is NOT used for smoking cessation - Zoloft is almost exclusively used for depression, though sometimes it can be used for chronic pain as the pain often depletes the body's ability to deal with stress.
