Avatar f tn Hello, i am 25 years old , and have been Dx with anxiety last year Jan 2010 and was given Zoloft 50mg to be taken everyday in the morning . I became pregnant with my first child this past Sept 2010 and went off the medication cold turkey. For the past couple of weeks my symptoms of anxiety started up again. I feel on edge, i am scared for no apparent reason, heart beating super fast and thinking scary thoughts.
Avatar f tn stopped Welbutrin and my mom felt somewhat better, but not normal. In September 2009 her Dr. put her on 25mg Zoloft for the anxiety which seemed to work, but in November the anxiety seemed to be worsening. Dr. recommended increasing Zoloft to 50mg, but my mother was afraid to up it and tried to just "deal" with it. Mid February 2010 she had a TSH test and it was 8.0, and her Dr. increased Levo from 100mcg to 125mcg.
10379139 tn?1409706165 I am sorry about your mom, really. I think that Zoloft is a good medicine and I also felt the sexual side effects but I just changed some things to make my intimacy more exciting. I don't know how to explain to a woman what to do with this but I do know that sex can be enjoyed you may just have experiment a little. I wish you the best.
958812 tn?1268764172 about stopping in the 3rd trimester(due to the risk of the baby being born addicted) and she told me that in all her years of dealing with women on Zoloft during pregnancy, she hadnt seen a baby have a problem and that she felt the benefit outweighed the risk for me. My baby was born completely healthy..no problems at all. I know that this wont be the case for everyone but I wanted to share my experience with you.
Avatar f tn I took Zoloft throughout my entire pregnancy. My dosage was 75mg. Zoloft is the most widely used medication of this type used in pregnancy and breastfeeding. I am not going to tell you to start up without talking to a Dr, but I am telling you is that most Dr's agree that it is safe for use in pregnancy. Good luck!!!
Avatar m tn I have high anxiety and have a problem sleeping. What other meds can i take in combination with the norcos (valium, xanex?) (somas, ambien?) I see my MD next week and want to be prrpared.
Avatar f tn ll be able to remain relatively-anxiety free in the long run. Before the pregnancy, I had plans to start tapering off Zoloft anyway, however, it seems more scary now that I know I'm pregnant. Has anyone had experience with tapering while pregnant? My apologies for the long post!
202436 tn?1326474333 I was on Citalopram (Celexa) for health anxiety for a year from Feb 2008 to Mar 2009. I weaned off of it in preparation for TTC since I'd been in therapy dealing with my issues and had made enough progress that I felt well enough to get off of the drug - and I didn't feel comfortable continuing to take it while being pregnant. My GP had told me that Celexa was one of the most "mild" ADs and that, if my anxiety were to flare up again, I could always go back on it.
Avatar f tn They should be taking into account the fact that you are pregnant and giving you something that will either not affect the baby or have very little affect on the baby. I know my sister in law was on zoloft while pregnant with my neice and everything turned out fine.
Avatar m tn ve seen people on here several times having been told by their doctors that Zoloft is the safest to take while pregnant. That may be true, but keep in mind, it's not just a problem with birth defects, it's also having a child being born on the drug and you know how difficult these drugs can be to an adult let alone a newborn.
Avatar n tn Hello and welcome! I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Do you have any history of anxiety? Sounds like you're having panic attacks. Did anything trigger this specifically? It's not uncommon at ALL for pregnant women to experience an increased level of anxiety, considering the combo of the normal worry that comes with pregnancy, and the hormonal surges. Listen, deciding to take a medication like Zoloft during pregnancy is a personal one.
489656 tn?1249999983 (can you edit a post?) Anyway, I just realized that your question involved pregnancy and zoloft- sorry I missed that part the first time.

Avatar f tn If you dont feel right about this decision, you may need to find someone who has your best interests in mind. Meds. During pregnancy is a very serious risk because you are not only feeding side affects to you but to your baby as well.
Avatar f tn I have been reading all the posts about Zoloft and pregnancy and I have to say that you are making me feel more comfortable. I currently take 25mg of Zoloft for Panic/Anxiety disorder. I have also been in therapy for over a year. It has been helping to teach me how to cope. Still can't fly, take a train or get stuck in traffic. I guess it is a little claustrophobia? My husband and I have been trying for our second child and I am wondering if the Zoloft is going to be ok.
94902 tn?1330479667 Just wondering if anyone is pregnant and taking either Zoloft (sertraline) or Toprol XL (metaporpolol). I currently take both - one for anxiety and the other because I have PVCs and tachycardia (which causes the anxiety). I am now estimated 6 weeks pregnant, and am having to make the decision about wether or not to come off my meds. I am in the process of weighing my pros and cons, but wonder if any other moms have been on any meds while pregnant. I would appreciate any input.
1481291 tn?1287793105 I am taking zoloft in pregnancy right now and no problems so far and I know many many many women on here and not on here who are taking zoloft or have taking zoloft during pregnancy.
1330182 tn?1279815900 So I went back on Prozac in Oct 2010. That is when I started having increased anxiety, chest pains, loss of appetite, loose bowels and vision problems. I slowly tapered off with my final dose in March 2010. The loose bowels have been going on since then along with increased anxiety. I am assuming that the GI issues are directly related to not having enough seretonin in my system..
