It's not my anxiety that has increased in general it's just alot of energy like I could stay up for a couple days if I didn't take my clonazapam to calm down for sleep I haven't had any panic attacks or alot more anxiety just energy upon energy that I can't seem to burn up.
I started zoloft about 17 days ago. I felt my energy improve for two days and then I couldn't get to sleep since I was not used to going to sleep with my energy level high. The next day I felt horrible. Low energy, couldn't concentrate etc.I slept ok last night but still feel very weak. If Zoloft works won't you start feeling better consistently. I really can't afford to keep feeling so fatigued.
Its been 18 days now that my dose of zoloft is at 150mg and I still have anxiety. Ive been at 100 for two years now and at 125 still last summer.
After 18 days at 150 I should feel better, no!?
It scares me that the med may not be effective anymore... What do you guys think?
Im still having tensions behind my head, feeling short of dizzy,... Im so tired of this anxious feelings! Just wish the med can be good for me.

I had taken zoloft for many years and it had worked well but I was starting to be bothered by the fact that I COULD NOT CRY, was TIRED DURING THE DAY and maybe it could be keeping weight on me that I might lose if not for the medicine SO I went off the zoloft and switched to wellbutrin. I definitely had more energy, which was wonderful but I felt kind of mean, I said mean things etc. That is the kind of depression I have. Not the sad I want to die type but the irritable type.
Often SSRIs can have the opposite effect on certain types of bipolar. Zoloft worked for me for awhile, but when a truly depressive episode hit, it at best dod nothing for me or it exaserbated the depression. I have been through many meds since I have been diagnosed. Some they never should have put me on (my type of bipolar is scarily bad when mixed with Lithium).
I took zoloft for several years earlier in my life. It made me have no energy and not care what went on around me. I then tried the Paxil and gained about 12 pounds so stopped it...I really don't get the anit-depressants. Everyone I know takes them except me now. They make "me" feel very tired and have no energy. It's like they make you down instead of up and feeling good so I just didn't ever get it.
Too many people take them for them not to work so good luck.
I have another question.(I'm applying for FMLA right now) I don't sleep well enough at night, so about 3 hrs. after getting up I'll go back to bed for a little while so I'm not so tired. I take a nap after lunch so I have more energy in the afternoon. I'll try to take a short nap around 5 so I have more energy for the evening. My fiancee' is not happy about me doing this. Am I wrong in doing this until I feel better?
ve been taking Citalopram 40mg (Celexa) for anxiety and it helps wonderfully, but the fatigue is becoming ridiculous. Have been taking this for several years. Is it worth talking to my doctor about switching to another medication?

I have been on 100 mg. Zoloft and just recently my doctor took me completely off it and put me on 1 mg. xanaz (1/2 pill for three times a day). She also put me on 2 dozepin at bedtime.(35 mg.) I just don't have any energy and don't know if it is because I have come off the zoloft. I have been off it for a week. I have been having anxiety attacks pretty regular but since she has put me on the zanax it has helped. I just don't want to do anything.

I was just wondering if it's normal with the first couple of days of use of Zoloft if it's common for it to make you a little more anxious and if so how long before it subsides?
So I started taking Zoloft for mild depression about 7mths ago. I used to drink a rockstar energy drink everyday to help me keep up with my 2 energetic toddlers. I began having a hard time catching my breath shortly after I got on the meds. After exhausting all other culprits, I figured out that I was suddenly hyper-sensitive to caffeine. Has anyone else had this problem? I'd like to find a medication that doesn't have this effect on me as I REALLY need my caffeine jolt lol.
They do travel different pathways in the brain/body, one holds Norephineprine where it is needed for energy and pain reduction. Serotonin is held where it is needed by both meds which help with depression.
Trust your doctor. He must have assessed that your depression is serious and a source of your pain besides the Fibromyalgia. This is very valid in many cases. Our brain chemistry affects our opiod receptors and how we assess pain. Also how we think about the pain.
It's been just about 3 weeks with nothing, but Half a dose Effexor XR and my xanax and yesterday I went to walmart and was able to get trazadone for $4.00. I really want to switch from Effexor Xr to Zoloft at Wall-Mart they said Sam's Club has Zoloft for $19.00. I just don't know, do I just stop taking the Effexor Xr and start taking the Zoloft or do I need to taper the Effex Xr and the start the Zoloft??
Definately tell him you want to try the Zoloft. I was on it for awhile and it did do wonders for me and it did not kill my sex drive. I am on Wellbutrin and venlafaxine now. The Venlafaxin at strong doses did have an effect on my maintaining an erection for awhile until I got used to the increased dosage. Now my system seems to be fine. It just took a little while to get my body used to the increased dosage when they strengthened it. In my life; I attempted suicide twice.
pseudo physically ...CONSTANTLY...RELENTLESSLY...for that thing to make us feel better or normal or more energy..or just plain ANY ENERGY!
Nothing but time, patience, EXERCISE, (can't stress this enough) is going to be the magic fix (besides doing your aftercare work)
I remember first coming here almost 2 years ago and hearing the oldsters talk about "time"....I hate to say it but it's just been this last month that I've been feeling more "normal" ......
t help with my depression but when I took it with Paxil it did seem to keep my energy levels up. I keep hearing that Zoloft will make me tired and cause me to gain weight. I also hear that it seems to have the same sexual side effects that Paxil did even though it's not as strong an SSRI as Paxil. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who has ever tried the combination of Zoloft and Wellbutrin.
Who told you not to have caffeine with Zoloft? Never heard of that. I was on Zoloft for years but first time I have heard this. I did not avoid caffeine as never told to avoid it. I was fine.
Perhaps you should check with a doctor or pharmacist about this. Personally I have never heard about not having caffeine with Zoloft.
