Zoloft and energy

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft and energy

zoloft

Avatar n tn I had taken zoloft for many years and it had worked well but I was starting to be bothered by the fact that I COULD NOT CRY, was TIRED DURING THE DAY and maybe it could be keeping weight on me that I might lose if not for the medicine SO I went off the zoloft and switched to wellbutrin. I definitely had more energy, which was wonderful but I felt kind of mean, I said mean things etc. That is the kind of depression I have. Not the sad I want to die type but the irritable type.
Avatar m tn It's not my anxiety that has increased in general it's just alot of energy like I could stay up for a couple days if I didn't take my clonazapam to calm down for sleep I haven't had any panic attacks or alot more anxiety just energy upon energy that I can't seem to burn up.
1354136 tn?1331875317 Hello board. I have been on zoloft 50mgs for a week and a half. I don't notice any change in my mood. In fact I feel more tired. Any ways I have read so much on zoloft and weight gain. However has anyone experienced a feeling fuller faster feeling with this med and a sense of hunger rather quickly after eating? Just wondering since that is what I'm going through. I get fuller faster on smaller amounts of food but then about an hour later it's like I haven't eaten all day.
Avatar m tn I thought it started to kick in a few days ago. My energy level was better and my concentration was clearer. I did not sleep well last night and I feel like I got hit by a truck today. I feel like I cannot function again. Is there anyone out there who is on or who has been on Zoloft and how do you know its working.
Avatar n tn I started taking zoloft (100 mg daily) just two months ago and have not gotten over what I thought were the initial symptoms--dizziness, drowsiness, itchy skin. I was so tired all day long that I found I had to drink up to 7 cups of coffee a day to stay awake. While reading an old magazine, one title jumped out at me, "Grapefruit Concern". It went on to mention certain prescription drugs that are affected by eating grapefruit and its juice. Typically, I eat two grapefruits a day!
Avatar m tn Are you going to regular intervals for counseling while you have been back on the Zoloft? I have been on and off of it over the years and while it really helps me, I also know that is only half of the battle....going to counseling and discussing the anxiety is the other half in my experience with it.
8254894 tn?1397380112 Bipolar depression and LOTS of anxiety. Am on 150 mg of zoloft, 30 mg of doxepin, zoloft increase to 150 mg was 3-4 wks ago.. Is it normal for the anxiety to increase? Feel like I'm possessed. Anxiety is pretty much all day, depression not so much....at my wits end.
Avatar m tn I started zoloft about 17 days ago. I felt my energy improve for two days and then I couldn't get to sleep since I was not used to going to sleep with my energy level high. The next day I felt horrible. Low energy, couldn't concentrate etc.I slept ok last night but still feel very weak. If Zoloft works won't you start feeling better consistently. I really can't afford to keep feeling so fatigued.
Avatar f tn My experience with zoloft was, that taking 50mg a day, I at first lost a few pounds, and was ecstatic. I've struggled with severe anxiety, and the zoloft really helped me. However, after about two months of being on it, I began to gain weight steadily, until I had packed 15 extra pounds on to my small frame. I never had ANY trouble with weight gain in my life; if I started seeing the scale creep up, I could exercise and be careful for a day or two and it would go right back to normal.
439168 tn?1307931740 I would hold out for a little bit - even though you are being treated for your depression, it may still hit you now and then. I often go through "down" times, the weather - my cycle - so many things can effect it. I am on Zoloft for anxiety and feel pretty good. I am on a very low dose 25mg and I may still feel a bit anxious at times but I am not gonna up my dose, it keeps me working on it myself - I just wanted a little help from the meds. Congrats on the weight loss!!
Avatar f tn I take the meds since two years and take it in the morning. I just want to have my energy and feel less anxious....and stop thinking or wondering constantly about my health!!!, please help!
Avatar m tn I am going through a major life crisis. I started taking 50 mgs. of zoloft about 4 weeks ago. The Dr. increased it to 100 mgs about 1.5 weeks ago. I have read a couple of very good old threads from this forum about anxiety and have learned a lot. I guess my question is, when I feel so badly because of the anxiety what can I do for relief while I'm waiting for the zoloft to kick in.
5890854 tn?1377264632 15 is better than 10 and Im sure 16 will be even better. Still lacking motivation and energy and SLEEP. I look back to the first couple of days and see a huge improvement. Its going to take time. We just have to fight thru the bad to get to the good. Im constantly playing head games with myself. Whenever I feel crappy I try and phsyc myself out of it. Even speaking out loud sometimes lol. Whatever we have to do right. Youll get thru it! Day to day!!
Avatar n tn I have been on 100 mg. Zoloft and just recently my doctor took me completely off it and put me on 1 mg. xanaz (1/2 pill for three times a day). She also put me on 2 dozepin at bedtime.(35 mg.) I just don't have any energy and don't know if it is because I have come off the zoloft. I have been off it for a week. I have been having anxiety attacks pretty regular but since she has put me on the zanax it has helped. I just don't want to do anything.
Avatar f tn s storing a ton of nervous energy in it. My eating is also out of control. I wanted to be normal, and NOT take ANY medication. I did however have my have my doctor prescribe me Clonazapam for an emergency. I should mention, I went on Zoloft mainly for anxiety. So, I have been off Zoloft for two months now and am having extreme bouts of nervous energy built up inside me. I have taken a Clonazapam now for three days straight. It works alright...
Avatar m tn I would try to stick with it for a few more weeks. however, if the sleep issue (falling asleep and then waking) continues, Zoloft may not be the drug for you. There are other equally as effective medications.
449619 tn?1206366643 There can be interactions with Zoloft and the amino acids. It can cause too much seratonin. It is best to work with the Dr or ND (naturopath). If you try any, go with very low amounts and only do 1 at a time.
Avatar f tn I noticed when the Zoloft added I started having the GI side effects (read diarrhea here!) and the sexual side effects (ED problems and etc,,,). The first time I took zoloft I lost weight then gained weight. This time , I've been working out and have avoided the weight gain so far.
Avatar f tn You could also try learning to meditate -- when I could still focus and do my TM it gave me a lot of energy without having to take things that can make anxious people more anxious. But you're right, everyone is different -- some people get sedated, some get overstimulated by the same drug.
Avatar m tn I have been on sertraline (Zoloft) for about 3 1/2 weeks now. I noticed I was just a little depressed before I even thought about starting any kind of medication because I've had anxiety issues in the past and that was about 5 years ago and I was on nortriptyline which cured my anxiety problems. I really wasn't depressed at the time I just had really bad panic attacks all the time.
Avatar m tn It feels like I have taken alot of mini thins or caffiene pills kind of hyper anyone expierience this? It started with zoloft then Effexor and now I am on remeron which my pcychaitrist says no way it will hype me up but my heart rate is 130 beats a min as we speak. Does anyone else have this expierience I know everyone is different it's wierd.
Avatar f tn ve had to increase the dosage twice and am now on 150mg, the first couple days are worriesome I was jittery, and can cause diarrhea, and I did feel a little panicky. it is suppose to give you a boost of energy (per my psychiatrist) but if you are in panic mode you may feel it is just exacerbating your panic attack. It does go away in about 4-7 days. the therapeutic affect doesn't kick in until 3- 6 weeks (per my psychiatrist) but I started feeling a difference around the 3 week.
5620279 tn?1371400678 I have been taking the combo since Friday and I feel anxious, almost panic attack, and I am tied to my toilet again, horrible sweats, and my legs keep twitching and then cramp up.
906679 tn?1263612612 Can zoloft make u feel low ,,I been on zoloft for about 3 weeks now n my energy is so low ,,,i have no motivation or care to do anything,,,,i know i need to getout of this ,but how?
1058304 tn?1257042315 s KIND OF either more anxiety and also more energy/ motivation OR less anxiety and also less caring about life, ie balnkness. I think many people now get combos and maybe that is good. Give it some weeks and come back and do tell! I would never take serotonin re-uptake inhibitors regardless, but I am still very interested! Oh, and bupropion (the active ingredient in wellbutrin) usually takes less than two weeks to take at least some effect. For me it took effect after three days.
Avatar m tn I've been to hell and back when it comes to depression medications. I've been from through Celexa, Paxil, an antipsycotic called Perphenazine, Lithium, Currently take Wellbutrin and Clonezepam and I"m about at the end of my rope. Every SSRI that I took made me totally impotent and at the age of 25 I'm not willing to give up my sex drive without a fight. I fear that I have to accept that SSRIs are the medications that I respond best to.
Avatar m tn First, GERD is a digestive disorder, which doctors and meds don't treat very well. Dietary changes work better, as do natural remedies. This isn't true for everything, but it is for digestive problems, as the meds for it tend to suppress stomach acid but you'll just produce more and more because you need it to digest protein and minerals. But that's another story.
Avatar n tn well I have to say, after 3 tough weeks of severe nausea, lightheadedness, dizziness, headaches, and dry mouth, I had to stop Wellbutrin and will be going back to prozac. If Zoloft helped with your depression, than there is a chance Wellbutrin won't work, because the brain chemistry problem that needs to be addressed is the serotonin problem. I hope you have better luck than I did.
