I am also 37 and want to become pregnant. I was on Zoloft and now on Lexapro and have been told by my gynecologist and a mid-wife that both are safe to be on while pregnant. In fact, they said they would prefer me to stay on the medication during pregnancy because if I'm not healthy and taking care of myself, it would be bad for the baby.

It is getting to an unbearable point for me-I am 27 weeks and think I may just need to take the meds. My son was born with colic and reflux and I had stopped taking the zoloft with my pregnancy with him when I found out I was pregnant.

Work stress, fertility struggles, child safety concerns involving step daughter and possible pedophile, and then to top it off I nearly died two years ago when my tubal pregnancy ruptured. (Prior to being transported for surgery hey gave me a small dose of morphine which it turns out I'm highly allergic too). Basically life has been hard and exhausting.
I've always been a busy person, loved going out in crowds, arenas, parties etc.
I have been having really bad anxiety on and off. The Dr. gave me Zoloft and it seems to have helped with my anxiety. But as it is I have a very hard time getting restful sleep. When I do sleep I have ongoing dreams and my mind doesn't get any rest. Now with the Zoloft my sleep is much less restful. Any suggestions?
I had been on Zoloft for the past 5 months and before that Paxil (the lowest dosages for both). When I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking Zoloft but the depression and anxiety has returned. I would like to go back on Zoloft but am concerned if, because I quit "cold turkey", it's okay to do so. Should I ease back into it, or can I continue to take it as I had been? I've tried contacting my doctor but have not received a response.
You have to take the control back...stop reading, stop searching about SSRIs and Zoloft and brain damage. The one Zoloft pill did NOT cause any damage. In my humble opinion, you are dealing with severe anxiety, and you need to formulate a treatment plan. As of right now, I doubt you could tolerate another med, as you are still connecting everything to the Zoloft. Therefore, you will likely have another anxiety-induced reaction to another med.
I have been on Zoloft 50 mg and Clonazepan 0.5mg for years and never had a problem. About 3 months ago I decided to decrease my dose of Zoloft to 25mg as I was feeling wonderful and my husband likes to have a couple of drinks and was on my case about having a drink or two with him. So I decided to decrease my meds. I completely stopped taking the Zoloft - cold turkey. And decreased my clonazepan by 1/2.
He then prescribed Zoloft (50mg) once a day along with the 2 doses(1mg)ea of Lorazepam untill the Zoloft takes effect. The problem is I still feel like crap just about all day. Dizzy, sour stomach, a lttle shaky, weak feeling. I've been on the Zoloft for about a week now. It's hard, but, should I give the Zoloft time to work? Could I try using less or more Lorazepam? I really want to get off the Lorazepam. My doctor blames it on my upcoming retirement.
it was just a coincidence. I started Zoloft 50mg and the tinnitus subsided. At zoloft 100mg, it subsided even more, almost disappearing. I went off Zoloft completely again and the tinnitus returned with all its fury. I started again and the tinnitus once again subsided. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'll keep taking Zoloft for tinnitus, even though I feel no need for an anti-depressant.
I have been taking Zoloft for 8 years for anxiety, stemming from menopause. I've been having discomfort in my upper right quadrant under my ribs for about 6 years. My doctor diagnosed IBS and I've been taking donnatal, which helps. I've recently decided to taper off of the Zoloft and have noticed that my discomfort has diminished. Could it have been associated with taking the Zoloft?
The doc put me on Zoloft a week ago for my IBS, depression and anxiety and as of today (6 days into it) i've started to become very anxious and jittery. I was just wondering if this is normal or anyone else has experienced this? I'm 20 years old and am used to being very happy and carefree before I got the IBS which induced the depression and anxiety which is a vicious cycle.
hi i am new in this group find out from a doctor i have anxiety and depression they called it situantional anxiety and depression.he precribed me Zoloft on Sept 14th was nervious before taking it did have some side effects but went away like itching then longer i took the itching got worse and felt like flu like systems had a low grade fever 99.0. found out from my primary doctor had sinus infection took meds for the infection finished medicine felt better.
Are you going to regular intervals for counseling while you have been back on the Zoloft? I have been on and off of it over the years and while it really helps me, I also know that is only half of the battle....going to counseling and discussing the anxiety is the other half in my experience with it.
I was weaned off Lexapro and switched to Zoloft about 7 weeks ago. My Zoloft intake was gradually increased to where I am now taking 200 mg for about 3 1/2 weeks now. However, I am feeling the need to drink almost everyday to give me relief from anxiety and still depressive episodes such as crying spells. My first question is- is the alcohol inhibiting the Zoloft from working to its ultimate capabilities?
So i go on Zoloft and by the 3rd day I felt anxious, like I was on speed. I called my doc and she said to stio taking it.
A month later I see her again and she claimed that it was impossible that I was feeling what I felt the first time (anxiety, jitteriness, tic increase, hard to think) becuase I had only been taking it for three days. She bascially siad it was all in my head.
