Avatar m tn Some women are very regular with their periods and can therefore tell when they might ovulate, and others are less regular and so ovulation is more of a guess. Is this a situation where the girl wants to get pregnant and is trying to time things, or is this a boy who wants to get a girl pregnant? I really don't recommend the girl try to get pregnant on purpose from a boy, unless they are married. It is not very fair to the boy if he has not agreed to the plan.
1281900 tn?1320336402 I've always heard great things about Fertil-Aid. I used it for a while myself and did conceive several times. My issues are with not being able to keep pregnancies. (immune problems, hormonal imbalance, etc.) I think Fertil-Aid has a good balance of vitamins, minerals and other herbs and stuff that help fertility. There's that one and there's another one called Fertility Blend, very similar but slightly different formulations. They're both much better than regular prenatals.
Avatar n tn Category B Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Category C Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
374593 tn?1257879950 A moderate amount of supplemental vitamin C improves hormone levels and increases fertility in women with luteal phase defect, according to a new study published in Fertility and Sterility (2003;80:459–61)." The dose was 750mg. I suggest not taking above 1000mg. For pregancy: according to the Cochrane review: www.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab004072.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that intake be limited in pregnant or nursing women to a single 6-ounce meal per week, and in young children to less than 2 ounces per week. For farm-raised, imported, or marine fish, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends that pregnant or nursing women and young children avoid eating types with higher levels of mercury (such as mackerel, shark, swordfish, or tilefish), and less than 12 ounces per week of other fish types.
Avatar f tn I had a 2nd opinion 2 weeks with another fertility doc and he mentioned that being a healthy 40yr old women I had a 20-30% chance on getting pregnant on my own. The 1st fertility doc told us that we had a 5-10% chance. WOW.. what a difference. Also, not sure how viable my eggs would be since my IVF did not take, since I had grades B and C's. Any advice would be great.
Avatar n tn Should I stop taking the zoloft? Or should I wait it out and if so for how long. I am currently uninsured and had to pay full price for the zoloft so I really hate to try another med after spending all that money on a 90 script of 100mg pills. Please help me.
Avatar f tn Dr. Sherri Thornton in Normal, IL is amazing! She is really nice and professional. She did my surgery and teddybears4ever2's. She works for Women for Women, so no guys in the clinic! Avatar n tn The FIRST RESPONSE® Fertility Test for Women detects FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), on Day 3 of a woman’s menstrual cycle in order to assess her ovarian reserve, an indicator of fertility. Women who want to assess their ability to conceive may find the results of this test useful. The test must be done on Day 3 of your cycle. Count the first day of bleeding or spotting as Day 1 of your cycle. A small amount of blood in your urine from your period should not affect the results in any way.
Avatar f tn After spending a year with severe general anxiety (constant shaking, heart palpitations, inability to concentrate, unable to enjoy life and general miserableness), I started therapy and (reluctantly at first) Zoloft. I've now been on Zoloft for a year (100mg) and doing group therapy for about the same amount of time. The difference this year has made has been huge!
398716 tn?1201225548 Newsweek just had a wonderful article about 2 weeks ago in their magazine on fertility and food/drink. It was CRAZY!!! Caffeine should be cut way down, fat needs to be up (whole milk - 2-3 glasses a day!), it was so weird to read it. It was againist everything as women we have been taught since we were little. Hard to fix - trust me. I have cut way down on the caffieine and I can actually sleep at ngiht now. :) Look up that article in Newsweek.

Avatar f tn well I don't want to worry you but I also had an HSG and everything was clear and everything else was normal and 6 IUI's later with clomid and still haven't gotten pregnant. The doctor decided that we should check for endo with a lap because even if your tubes are clear the endo could prevent the tubes from picking up the egg..I'd really look into it if I were you just to be 100% sure you are ok..
Avatar f tn What about diabetes and infertility as it is related to males? Does it cause fertility issues in men, too? Dr. Falcone: Yes. Certain diabetes complications can cause issues for men that contribute to infertility. For example, nerve damage from diabetes, multiple sclerosis or a spinal cord injury can lead to retrograde ejaculation – where the semen goes into the bladder. Since the semen never reaches the female reproductive system, infertility may be an issue.
Avatar f tn m not able to find information pertaining to women who stopped or reduced their intake and subsequent ability to conceive. (i.e.; how much damage have I done? If i stop, do out chances improve?
Avatar n tn Anyhow, I had NO ringing in the ears from Zoloft. None. About the main side-effect I had on Zoloft was fatique, lack of libido, constipation, lethargy, more fatique...you get the picture. Zoloft helped me with my panic attacks ,which many yrs ago I did suffer. Zoloft also helped me with my clinical depressions. That's why my Doc prescribed "Z" for me.
Avatar f tn ve mantioned fibroids. Those are quite common in women in their 30s and 40s. Fibroids can interfere with implantation of the fertilized egg. that's why I'd consider this a serious obstacle. Statistics show that 30% of women who start trying to conceive are able to fall pregnant on the first menstrual cycle (1 month). 60% achieve it after 3 cycles (about 3 months), while 80% will get pregnant after 6 cycles (about 6 months).
Avatar m tn I take 75 mg Zoloft. It has been helpful in treating my depression and anxiety. But I have also done a lot more than depend on meds. I also exercise almost daily, see a therapist weekly, meditate when I have a chance, listen and learn about depression to be on top of things. I have found that I feel best when I am pro-actively holding the depression and bad feelings at bay. Just the knowledge that I am doing something is helpful. Regarding your statement about guys not feeling this way...
Avatar n tn in the meantime drink TONS and TONS of water AND make sure your bladder is completley full and ready to burst before your next ultrasound. if your baby does have kidneys, this will help you to produce fluid which might in turn help the tech to locate something not seen before. i believe low amounts of fluid can affect how well the baby can be seen via ultrasound, and i'd imagine the kidneys are very hard to find.
202436 tn?1326474333 My sister took zoloft the entire duration of 2 of her pregnancies and her and her babies had no complications... You are your doctor will decide what is best for you. Do not stop cold turkey. Your doctor will insturct you how to wean yourself off if that is your intention.
Avatar f tn I've been on birth control for 10 years and started having anxiety and panic attacks out of the blue.I went off of it and now I'm just trying to get my hormones back in line. I'm still having some anxiety and depression but I've read from other women that they went through a similar situation but the thread I found was from 2007.
Avatar n tn S) since I was about 13 (could Zoloft have prevented growth?
Avatar n tn Adenomyosis is not typically considered to be a contributor to infertility, although in theory I agree with you and wonder if it can sometimes play a role in affecting implantation. Having said that, most miscarriages are due to genetic abnormalities in the embryo, and unfortunately miscarriages are common. There is no 'cure' for adenomyosis.
Avatar m tn t drink but MAYBE once a week, and during this particular night she endulged in quite a few, we came home and had unprotected sex in hopes that maybe we could conceive, it was around the 13th-16th day of her cycle. My question is what are the chances we could concieve given my strong previous alcohol use before and that night, and her VERY mild alcohol use before but strong that night?????
1297184 tn?1289787161 Hi all! I am just now returning after having a miscarriage in June. AF has finally come back and we are ready to start trying again. We did quite a few months of treatment with drugs and IUIs and it was all so exhausting and expensive that I'm thinking about changing our strategy and wondered if anyone could help. I wanted to know about anyone's thoughts or experience with holistic treatments (i.e. acupuncture and supplements). I would really appreciate anyone's advice.
Avatar f tn I had been in alot of pain and was bleeding heavily constantly, after visiting my doctor I was diagnosed with PID caused by an STI. This was around 8 years ago, I am now 30. I have since had no normal smears so have had to visit my colposcopy unit several times and have had a biopsy on 2 occasions but this has never been followed up with any treatment. The doctor told me that this was due to the areas that were showing bad cells were small and had not grown in size.
Avatar f tn I was doing some research on ways to improve your fertility.( had 2 miscarriages in 11 months. Ready to try again!).... And I read on a few web sites that woman trying to get pregnant that went to the Chiropractor improved there chances of getting pregnant by about 30%.
