Avatar n tn Has anyone found a neurosurgeon that would treat Chiari Zero in Ontario? Would you need to get a CINE MRI to justify surgery? It is very clear from the MRI that the CSF spaces around the cerebellum are obliterated? There is no tonsillar descent, which means it doesn't fit Chiari One criteria. Would I need to go to the US to get a definitive DX? Can I get Ontario Health Insurance to pay for the DX and surgery to be done in the US, if nobody works with this in Ontario?
Avatar f tn The nurse who was drawing blood was a bit of a nimrod. Before drawing blood he opened the alcohol wipe and put the packet on the table and the alcohol wipe, while being partially still in the packet, made contact with the table. He then used the wipe to wipe my arm, then wiped the arm wit a cotton ball. He then drew the blood.
Avatar m tn I noticed as soon as she began oral that she has a tounge piercing and there was blood around the area of the piercing. I quickly stopped her from the oral. I have read other post that say no risk with oral but did not know with the blood around the piercing if this changed anything. I apprecaite your response.
Avatar f tn Stupidly, I had several drinks and drove my car. I was pulled over and my blood alcohol was almost 2! I only had 2 glasses of wine! Could Graves disease have affected my alcohol level?
Avatar n tn While she was in the top position her period started. By time we notice my testicals were covered with her blood. I washed the area with soap and water and alcohol (not fun). To top things off, the following morning I had a friction (like a rug) burn on my testicals for her stubble. What are my risks of HIV exposure? This discussion is related to Hiv and burns .
Avatar m tn There are at least 3 reasons you should not be worried about catching HIV in these circumstances. 1) It seems unlikely any blood got into the wine. Your friend recognized the cut immediately, probably before the cork had not even been removed. 2) Swallowing infected blood or secretions is very low risk for HIV, maybe zero. For the same reason, oral sex rarely results in HIV even with swallowing HIV-infected semen. 3) The alcohol content in table wine is sufficient to kill HIV.
Avatar n tn The healthcare worker swabbed off my finger with a cotton ball with alcohol. The healthcare worker then set the cotton ball down on the desk where they routinely perform these tests. The healthcare worker collected the specimen and then picked up the cotton ball off of the desk and recleaned my fresh finger-stick wound (still bleeding from the stick moments before) with the same cotton ball. Is it possible to be exposed to hiv and/or hep.
634590 tn?1293774093 s gone and the only to bring it back is through reinfection which is blood to blood... Can you imagine how many of us would not now be SVR? Besides alcohol will not stop one from becoming SVR.........
Avatar f tn We have a 2 year old and are expecting our second! I cant remember when I should be Going to the doctors for my first visit? I live in Ontario, Canada.
Avatar n tn What you might be experiencing, well, it could be anything, but since alcohol is disorienting, people prone to anxiety will feel anxious sometimes when they get disoriented. So I would ask, do you eat aged cheese, or fermented foods, and if they don't bother you, it's probably not the tyramine.
20809992 tn?1518008779 m not 100% positive on how to answer this, but Coke Zero (cherry zero) is the only one my mom drinks and her blood sugars are just fine and low. I because of stomach issues I drink Zero Sodas but ones without caffeine and diet sodas without caffeine and that doesn't affect my blood sugars at all.
404715 tn?1233829631 My family doctor did a blood test and told me I did not have lyme disease due to the fact the blood test came back negative. I have been sick since the bite with many symptoms of lyme disease and as time goes on I am getting sicker. I have many symptoms and I seem to be coming down with more of them.I feel I am falling apart physically & mentally. If anyone can point me in the direction of a lyme literate doctor in Southern Ontario it would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Being a nurse she should know that hepc is transmitted from blood to blood. Unless the liver fluid had blood in it and she has open sores in her mouth I would say she has nothing to worry about. She is a part of the health community and it shouln't be a problem getting a hep panel done if she continues to have concerns. Freaking out doesn't solve the problem and I totally understand her concerns but in my opinion chances are zero probability.
Avatar f tn I assume that the person drawing your blood was using clean gloves and swabbed your arm with alcohol prior to the venipucture, correct? Avatar f tn Kareen,. That isn't true as every Dr is different. Since we don't know how much alcohol it takes to negatively affect a foetus my midwife has a zero alcohol policy, as does the hospital where I will deliver. It's better to not take the chance. And doesn't a bloody Mary have vodka in?
Avatar f tn Hello, My mother is 69 years old. She has had very high blood pressure (200/160) since her early 30's. She lives in a small northern Ontario town where the doctors are at a premium and the good doctors are practically non-existant. She called me this morning saying that her pulse has been over 120 bmp for about 2 months and she sweats profusely. It's not due to exercise, because she never leaves her apartment and she sleeps over 12 hours per day.
283921 tn?1218525506 Talk to your doctor about alternatives for lowering BP. I have have read that sugar, caffiene, alcohol, and stress can increase blood pressure, so try to reduce or elimate as many possible sources as you can. I have read that Omega3 fatty acids may decrease blood pressure. I have read celery, garlic and onions may reduce blood pressure.
