zantac

593603 tn?1229378162 Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.
Avatar f tn Noo ask ur doctor first!!
Avatar m tn By taking a medication off prescription and making it OTC the NHS saves money and the pharmaceutical company make more money because presumably more people will by it when they don't need a prescription. The reason you think Rannitidine is less effective is because the placebo effect has been removed. In fact both drugs are equally effective. Otherwise the generic version would not have been licenced.
Avatar f tn Can zantac alone, or in combination with any of the prescription drugs cause liver enzymes to increase? Been taking the Zantac almost, but not every day for over a year. Thanks much for you response. P.S. I also take one Omeprazole 20 mg every morning.
Avatar n tn can you take imodium and prilosec OTC or zantac to get rid of opiate withdrawals?
545538 tn?1295992017 Hi Jim. Thanks for replying. I can't take aspirin or ibuphophren (sp?) because I have ITP which is a platelet disorder. So I'm stuck with tylenol anyway. How about Pepcid AC or Zantac OTC? I had my husband's lasagna last night and the acid didn't agree with me. Although the lasagna was delicious. I didn't have anything except for Tums and had read that it wasn't good with tx. So I suffered through it. I just want to get something to have in the cabinet...just in case.
4268628 tn?1375041176 So I bought some OTC zantac like my doc suggested today only to get home, takeone, and realize I accidentally grabbed the 150mg when I was only supposed to take 75. Is thus a major issue I should call in to the on call Dr about or just let it go?
Avatar f tn Are you prescribed Zantac? Or, are you talking about the OTC preparation? Zantac is a very safe medication, it probably wouldn't be an issue for you to try it...run it by your doc first. These meds can cause all kinds of GI Upset, so it could very well be the Prozac. Have you ever been diagnosed with GERD? Have you ever just tried taking a few Tums? That may work also. Tums can be very effective, and they are completely safe. Make sure you are taking the Prozac as prescribed.
568659 tn?1256139982 I am freaking out here, I told my OB at my 12 week appointment that I am getting horrible heartburn and that nothing helps. He gave me a script to prilosec OTC and told me it was safe to take every day. I have not been taking it everyday but I have taken it a couple times a week since then. Well, I just looked online and it is a category C drug and is not to be used during pregnancy especially not before 20 weeks. I am only 17 weeks and have been taking it since week 12!
Avatar f tn I feel Gerd and milk allergy are grossly overdiagnosed in infants. Lactose overload has been diagnosed in breast-fed infants now - and I believe it is also found in babies.
Avatar f tn After I was out of the first trimester, i was given a script for Pepcid. I was allowed to take OTC zantac, pepcid, etc... but it was cheaper to get a prescription. My daughter did not have any problems at all with reflux. I am now pregnant with #2. I was surprised that the first trimester wasn't too bad with the heart burn. It came back full force in the second trimester, and I am on pepcid again. My OB is very cautious with meds, and my DH is a pharmacist.
Avatar f tn Zantac zantac zantac/ rantidine rantidine rantidine!!
Avatar n tn Take some OTC antacid like Mylanta. You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec (omeprazole). These will help. Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms worsen then it may be due to H.Pylori infection. You need antibiotics in that case after prescription from a physician. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn then Zantac.. then Zantac with tums. All gave temporary relief. I was just prescribed Protonix by my OB and No More Heartburn!!!! Try Zantac 150 mg over the counter first.
Avatar f tn Don't drink with your meals, take tums if your uncomfortable with otc meds and the calcium in them are good for you and baby. I've learned that drinking milk will make heartburn and acid reflux worse because your stomach produces more acid to try to get rid of the fatty coating it leaves in your stomach lining.
Avatar f tn I was told do NOT take Prilosec With the new NS5A and NS5B drugs. it's been proven it has an adverse effect. I'm on the Sofosbuvir/5885 and Prilosec is on the Do Not take list. I usually take Zantac and asked if this was ok, and was told during my treatment Zantac was OK. I didn't question the difference but said OK no Prilosec. Anyone on the new Sofosbuvir told this same thing?
11934670 tn?1422640484 Water makes my heartburn so much worse!! Call your doctor.. around that time my heartburn was horrible also & they told me I could take otc zantac! But call them first! I never did.. but I'm 23 weeks now and It isn't gone..but has gotten better! Hopefully it helps you to!
Avatar f tn I take Prilosec OTC everyday. I been taken it since my first trimester. It helps and safe.
Avatar f tn You can take Zantac or or Prilosec OTC. They work. I use Prilosec OTC. That will help you.
Avatar f tn I had preeclamsia at the end of my pregnancy, and was placed on a beta blocker (labelolol 200 mg bid). I also pumped, but after about 3 weeks, my supply died. Did the beta blocker have that effect on my milk or was it my diet? I also wondered if my taking prilosec had any effect on my son's acid reflux? Ok, so it was two questions. Any other advice about infant acid reflux are definitely appreciated!
Avatar f tn I had heartburn really bad to the point I couldn't eat or drink anything without it bothering me. I was taking rantidine OTC but it wasn't working I told my Dr. and he gave me omperazole 40mg and it has worked wonders I can finally eat anything I want.
Avatar f tn I am now on OTC Zantac for other symptoms of GERD and cmclien you are eactly right! The nausea and the growling went away!! Nothing else has been diagnosed except a low Vitamin D. I am waiting for my endo to decide what to put me on (I already take 1000qd) Thanks to you all!
