zantac

1330108 tn?1333677304 I know there are several of you ladies who have had your fair share of the challenges with GERD in their infant. Help!! Ellie was born preemie and shows classic signs of GERD. I had her at the dr she is gaining weight we got the spitting up under control by slowing her feedings and sitting her upright for 20min after meals.
Avatar f tn My 18 week old baby girl has gerd although zantac has taken away the pain and carobel somewhat helps the vomiting. She is only 11lb 4oz and is in the 2nd centile. She only takes 4 5oz bottles of nutramigen 1 each day and when I try to give her more she just vomits it up due to her reflux. However she has extreme flatulence at night from 11pm right through until 7am. It is constance, is foul smelling and doesnt stop with the result neither she nor I sleep.
Avatar f tn Intense heat can get to anyone, just like you and I may not feel well after being in the heat. It may be that the heat is upsetting her stomach. If you notice that she is spitting up a lot more when in the heat than when in the air, I would keep her inside. Bummer for you but better for her.
Avatar n tn Zantac is commonly prescrobed for GI disorders, like GERD. You may be thinking of Xanax, which is an anti anxiety medication. If you can find out which medication your friend is on, we'll be able to better help you.
Avatar f tn ve never gotten GERD once in my life for any reason. But about a week and a half after the procedure I developed pretty bad Gerd. I then went to a GI specialist who is seeing me for my hunger issues but i mentioned to him thr GERD. I stressed pretty strongly that ive never had it before even once and now all of a sudden i have it every day pretty badly eben when jsut drinking water or not eating. He prescribed me Zantac twice a day.
Avatar f tn Have you tried Prilosec for GERD? I would give it a try even though they say you don't have it. Also, look at your diet, there may be something you are eating or drinking on a regular basis that is causing excess gas. Have you tried chewing a couple of Tums after eating? Since all your tests are normal, I feel it's food related and would look at that. Take care.....
Avatar f tn This too after so much of encouragement. What could be wrong with her. Her doc said she might have GERD and she is on Zantac for a week now with no improvment.
Avatar n tn I went to a GI and she prescribed me with nexium in the morning (I usually take nexium everytime my gerd acts up) and zantac in the evening before bedtime. The next day, we went to my pulmonologist for my routine checkup, since I had primary spontaneous pneumothorax last november.
Avatar m tn I HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED 150MG OF ZANTAC AND ALSO 40MG OF NEXIUM DAILY FOR RELIEF OF POST NASAL MUCUS CONGESTION. ARE THE COMBINATION EXCESSIVE?
Avatar n tn The GI doc has me switching off omeprazole (prilosec) in the morning and ranitidine (zantac) before bed. Switching the two helps and of course watching what I eat and drink, Right now I am uncomfortable from my dinner - the giant milk shake was a bit too much milk and sugar for me. I have no saage advice for this one.... but can definitely commiserate.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed w/ GERD and Hiatal Hernia 16 years ago and have been on multiple meds since then. Meds now no longer help. I have been undergoing a battery of test to determine if I am a candidate for surgery to correct the issue. My last test is on Thursday this week - the PH Bravo Probe. I was told I had to stop all med 5-7 days prior to the test. I did and now after only 24 hours I am in extreme pain. Can I take Tums or Rolaids in the meantime to help some until the test is over?
Avatar n tn am also very sorry to hear your daughter's story. It is a very familiar one to me. My 16 year old daughter starting vomiting after her second feeding at birth and did not stop until she had a j-tube(feeding tube) surgically placed in her small bowel at age 8. Her case is very severe obviously, but I do know how you feel. Raising the head of her bed does help to a degree. The Zantac will take about 2 weeks to really start to help her.
1448936 tn?1363206346 I haven't taken a zantac today and my burning subsided a bit. I'm still very nauseated and feel like I have something warm and a slight burn in my throat. I got prevacid to start trying to see if that will give me more relief. I also feel as though sometimes I have too much saliva in my mouth. I'm assuming this can all probably be chalked up to acid reflux? Hopefully the prevacid helps.
Avatar f tn I came across a happenstance. I was dx with Gerd in 1999 and was on zantac which after much time cleared up and zantac was stopped. Starting in 2001 I happened to get an SVT episode. In 2006 I had an afib episode and would have about 5 with each progressing year treated with verapamil "pill in the pocket".
Avatar n tn I’m alternating Pepcid for two weeks with Zantac for two weeks for GI inflammation. The FDA has dialed back a bit on the Zantac issue. Not sure I trust that, but it was never an extremely concerning report. If Pepcid continues to work I’ll ask my doctor if I can take it regularly.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I have GERD/sleep apnea and woke up hyperventilating for years. Is there a treatment for it? Is protonix the best treatment for GERD? I've been taking nexium, zantac, but still have this terrible sleep apnea. maybe I need nexium at 80mg. I would wake up choking once after eating spicy food and also have hot flashes This discussion is related to Acid reflux.
Avatar f tn My 6month old was prescribed .25mg of Prevacid because of GERD symptoms. The pharmacy wouldn't fill it until speaking with the doctor. I'm just wondering if anyone has an infant/child that was given the same thing? He's not losing weight but he has trouble sleeping at night and he spits up way too much and I've alread changed his formula 3 times. He sleeps better when propped up but putting the pillow under the mattress isnt enough.
Avatar n tn Did you ever try taking acid reflux meds or GERD meds? this may be a reason for it. Try and let us know.
692001 tn?1236562462 With the right guidance, you can be free of the GERD and the palpitations that come with the GERD or the medications for GERD. My brother has similar food issues, he found out, so now he feels better with his GERD, too. I don't think he has as many food sensitivities as I do, but he has found out that most of the people in his immediate family have some of the same issues with the biggest items on the elimination diet list.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering daily with this awful rot-gut. Wakes me up nightly and leaves me suffering for 2-3 hrs. I took Zantac and Walmart's Equate generic version of Zantac for about 16 years, it was losing effectiveness (now the class action lawsuits out stating it's responsible for multiple types of cancer, god help me). I asked my doctor to prescribe something and was prescribed omeprezole (sp?). This never worked well for me. So, 18 years of suffering, it starts to become normal.
Avatar m tn I went to my primary care two weeks ago, who put me on zantac 150 and tested me for h. pylor, which came back negative. The zantac has reduced the symptoms, but I am still fairly uncomfortable. I am considered slightly overweight on the bmi scale. I am 5'9, 180 pounds. I have had four pregnancies, two surviving children, an emergency ectopic and a miscarriage. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn I am taking cipro for 21 days for a skin infection. I also take zantac for my acid reflux. The cipro label says no antiacids, but specificly does not list ranitidine, the main ingredient in zantac. Can I take my zantac or not, is my question, as I have terrible acid reflux because of nsaids that I take for back and shoulder pain. Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn Hi, What you suffer from is GERD with nocturnal breakthrough pain. And hiatal hernia is a risk factor for GERD. The treatment consist of PPI + nighttime zantac. You can continue taking omeprazole twice a day ( before breakfast and before dinner) and a zantac at bedtime. The treatemnt is not complete without lifestyle modifications - Lifestyle modifications - 1. Head elevation while sleeping 2. Small frequent meals 3. Going to bed 2- 3 hours after food 4. Avoiding bed time snacks 5.
