zantac

Avatar n tn I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.
Avatar n tn There can be side-effects with the use of PPIs - no drug is without side-effects unfortunately. They can include changes to bone density - more ease of fracture - and anemic states due to loss of B12 uptake. Changes in bowel habits and loose stools can be a result of the use of PPIs. If you cut down on acid, you cut down on the amount of food that's thoroughly digested and able to be absorbed. Those materials will cause changes in the output of the digestive system in a number of ways.
Avatar n tn We just got a rx but we are not sure this is safe for an infant under two years old. The side effects for long term use mention glaucoma and vision problems? Should I be concerned about this?
Avatar m tn worsened IBS - bad abdominal cramps (caused by Nexium together with fever and Zantac) a white-coated and burning tongue (caused by Prevacid, Zantac, Protonix, Pepcid, Riopan). I'd like to know if anybody has experienced intollerance to the various antireflux medicines similar to mine. Have you ever had a severely burning tongue caused by them?
3150328 tn?1349627121 I first used carafate about 30yrs ago sort of before all of the newer drugs came on the scene, then it was Tagamet Zantac Pepcid and all down the line one good thing about carafate is it is not systemic with mostly minor side effects.
Avatar f tn Seaver, someone is 'fibbing,' and I don't really think it's me. Sign in to medscape.com - good site. Then query the drug section - you type in the med name and hit the little 'drug' category in the main Search box. It will take you to a list of the form that your drug can be purchased. Click the correct form (like: Verapamil oral), and you'll go to a page with a list of what the med is used for and side-effects.
Avatar f tn It seemed like the Prilosec just started to take effect and I started having all these side effects. The worst was the zantac where I got the second yeast infection. Luckily urgent care gave me a refill from the one after the antibiotics.
Avatar m tn After she started Prevacid she was less irritable but developed side-effects including giving up napping during the day and green, mucus-like foul smelling stool (started this week). Oh yeah, she also has a milk protein based sensitivity. My wife is still nursing but has given up all dairy and dairy-like foods. Any help as to what this may mean or if this is serious?
Avatar f tn headache (may be severe);drowsiness, dizziness;sleep problems (insomnia);decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm; or swollen or tender breasts (in men);nausea, vomiting, stomach pain; or diarrhea or constipation so yes those are some of the side effects your having. I have the chest pains, tender breasts and dizziness it ***** to.
1088529 tn?1256844030 I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself.
547002 tn?1219797376 I took/take Prevacid for 6 weeks and also have terrible side effects from it. Anxiety gone through the roof, muscle twitching in my throat, depression beyond believe. I was supposed to take 30 mg a day but because I had a really bad swallowing problem (turned out those were actually anxiety crampings of my throat) I took a few times 60 mg a day (morning and evening a 30 mg).
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, I am on week two of the 12 week GS-7977 and ribavirin. I wondered if anyone has side effects from this. My nurse told me none of her patients have, but I don't feel well. Nothing I can't handle, I was just surprised. I am genotype 2. I have a headache all of the time, body aches, and I am very tired. I also am having a lot of heartburn. Any info would be great. Thanks.
Avatar f tn the Prozac, but that kind of pattern can lead to difficulties in tolerating the med...it can increase side effects, and decrease the efficacy. So, my advice is to just stick with it...take it regularly, as prescribed. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn Hmmm, not everyone's side effects will be the same. In fact, you may not really have any side effects that you notice. My side effects were: racing heart - I lost about 5 lbs in 3 days. skin sensitive to the touch. feeling like I was beat up with a baseball bat on my back. shaking. and feeling like my achilles tendon was going to rip off. Just try to relax and take it easy. I hope all goes good for you.
Avatar n tn would Nexium pose the same problems for her?
Avatar n tn Below is mentioned the list of anti-tubercular drugs and their common side effects but none of them are known to affect the infant if the father is on anti-tubercular medications. 1. Isoniazid: It is important for everyone to bear in mind not to consume alcohol while taking isoniazid. Some of the side effects of this drug include- rash, abnormal, hepatitis, sideroblastic anemia, peripheral neuropathy, headache, poor concentration, poor memory and depression. 2.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
2101847 tn?1333564794 My doctor prescribed reglan too, but the side effects have me scared! Do you notice any side effects, and how often do you take it?
Avatar n tn We are trying him with all the usual treatments, - gaviscon, omeprozole, zantac, domperidon... you name it...- and he is responding to non of these, which is quite normal, some babies don't and just have to suffer til they grow out of it, and we can help as much as poss keeping them upright etc. His stools are totally liquid - understandably, (though usually there is some gritty bits in other babies I've looked after).
Avatar n tn In addition to what LivinginHope said first and then I wanted to add I was on Zantac 150 for about 4 months and I had no side effects at all. I have a benign arrhythmia (PACS) and so it depends on the person and if you take it long term. I have to go back on it again. But my doctor said not to stay on it all the time. Rather, to stay on it for a while then go off and on. But, I would definitely report this to your doc.
692001 tn?1236562462 Would you believe that Zantac, my trusted medicine for over fifteen years, can have side effects such as ANXIETY, IRREGULAR HEARTBEATS, CONFUSION, DEPRESSION, HALLUCINATIONS, AND SEVERE MENTAL ILLNESS?! Looking back, including tonight, I realize that almost everytime I have had a panic attack its usually about 20-30 minutes after taking my Zantac! OMG! Has anybody every experienced anything similar to this? Have you ever even heard of this? I AM COMPLETELY SHOCKED!
Avatar m tn t work, then you can try something stronger like Prilosec. Keep in mind, Prilosec may come with a lot of side effects that can be just as bothersome as the GERD. I was prescribed Prilosec and took it for six weeks until I couldn't take it any longer. Too many side effects for me. It basically blocks acid from the stomach, and while it is effective at getting rid of heartburn, you may experience a rebound once you stop taking them.
Avatar m tn What other meds is she on, the Zantac does sometimes have side effects like upset stomach ,does she still take that at times .?She may simply be a late starter , some light exercises holding her hands and pulling her up to sitting position, regularly . Place some toys near her but out of reach so she has to roll to grab them .. If you are concerned take her back and ask for an evaluation ..
Avatar n tn i recently got put on antibiotics (azithromycin) for a throat infection, but these pains are not a side effect. i have experienced the side effects of my antibiotics; i had diarrhea and slight stomach pains, but that was it. i'm 16; female. i know i'm very young but i'm still scared if this is something serious. thanks so much!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn //gerd.emedtv.com/zantac/zantac-side-effects.html - and noticed that some of your symptoms are listed as side effects of Zantac. As far as your blood work I would make sure an endocrine screen was done. Low cortisol is an indication of adrenal insufficiency - cortisol is an important hormone that controls metabolism. Just a thought.
