Avatar f tn And another thing which is out of medical treatment is "YOGA" . It seems beneficial to many people and we would advice you to visit an yoga expert for further queries. (Virabhadra asana I & II or Warrior pose I & II and Trikonasana ). Take care!
Avatar n tn re in the midst of one, keep caffeine and hot and spicey dishes to a total minimum or cut them out completely, get a fan for your bedroom that you can turn on and off as needed and generally, do some calming things like yoga, stretching, meditation or anything that you find calming as being stressed will also bring them on with more strength and more often. But, I also agree with the previous poster that getting a blood test to check out your thyroid functions is well worth it.
Avatar f tn I have been told that I need to have disc replacement surgery although the clinical trials are over and now it has been approved by the FDA for cervical disc replacement (approval by health insurance only for 1st level replacement only). I have 4 cervical discs' involved. (C3-6) and C-5 being the worst. I was told by the spine surgeon that they would only be able to replace 1 disc and then fuse the others.
1110049 tn?1409402144 Oh I loved water aerobics, but now I don't have a car, and can't get to a swimming pool. You're right, it is great exercise. I miss it. Barb as to yoga, unfortunately I have a problem when I put my head down, I go all dizzy and funny. I tried an aerobics class, and also tried at home, but always this dizzy problem. I do walk quite a bit, and that keeps me generally fit, but oh this big fat tummy.
1175033 tn?1492201228 I am 26 and have had joint degeneration in the facets of my cervical spine that has been visible on x-ray since I was 19. I just recently found out about this when I got another x-ray done, and the findings stated it was compared to an x-ray from 2002 which showed degeneration. Why didnt any one tell me? My doctors just said my x-rays were normal, but how can this be normal for someone that was 19 at the time?
Avatar n tn On August 7, 2008 ( his third day back at work light duty) he was walking when his femur fractured, that evening he had a total hip replacement. He had more pain after the second surgery and muscle weakness, we were told it was because he had two surgeries in 7 weeks, Almost a year later he suffers from severe to mild pain even when sitting still. He has had blood tests, x rays, cortisone shots, and a bone scan.
Avatar f tn i am 53 years old. i had surgery for torn meniscus in left knee on 10/13/2007, and i have been in pain since. i am currently receiving my 3rd round of synvisc. i have had 3 or 4 cortisone injections, they seemed to be helping but the times in between have gotten shorter. my dr. keeps telling me i'm too young for knee replacement. he tells me it's arthritis, i can't believe it. i am not overweight (147 lbs.), however, before the surgery i weighed 128 lbs.
Avatar f tn It has been two years since I have had a total left knee replacement . I still have stiffness in my knee and I can not bend it more than a 90 degree angle. I swim, walk, take yoga classes & constantly try to stretch it -- but nothing happens. Is there anything I can do for this ?
Avatar f tn My dentist found that some of my sensitivity was coming from 4 specific teeth where he thought the enamel had thinned. It's in the area closest to the gum line and the nerve in the tooth. He scheduled an appointment to augment that enamel with composite (?) or something. I have never heard of this and don't know what it is called. Although one tooth is now so painful that I barely touch it with the toothbrush, I am still nervous about this procedure.
451191 tn?1264432890 I wanted to pass along this link to everyone. I have been practicing Bikram Yoga for 7 years and have found it's benefits to be many. So much so, that I have decided to get certified to teach and hopefully open my own studio someday. My own experience has been this: since my TT in April and RAI in May I have not gained ONE single ounce, have maintained a consistent energy level and my TSH levels always fall within normal ranges. http://www. yogapassion. com/testimonials/12.

Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar f tn Thanks! Do you all take regular yoga or prenatal ? I already joined a gym and they have yoga classes a few days a week but not prenatal yoga.

Avatar m tn masage, inversion therapy, heat and ice, yoga of stretching, calcium replacement/for women also estrogen replacement/ sometimes people require steroid injections at the pain site...poor posture can also create or add to these problems...narcotics are not for pain relief..only changes our perception of pain where anti-inflamatories, ice etc actually do provide real pain relief..food for thought...
Avatar f tn My oncologist, gynecologist surgeon, is way too busy , I have asked him several times about hormone replacement therapy, (do you know anything about that?) clinical trials etc he just flat out says they don't work. He has 2 offices and really could care less about me unless i am doing chemo, when he examines me he spends about 3 minutes, there is no one else to go to around here.
Avatar n tn A few years ago I was bothered by hip pain but when I started taking large does of Vitamin D it went away. Coincidence? Then a few weeks ago hip pain came on again one night after I was doing Yoga. After that it started bothering me daily but only at night. It has been very difficult to get out of bed due to the pain. I wondered about our mattress so I spent last night in our guest bedroom. This morning it was worse than ever--literally I could not get out of bed at first.
