Avatar f tn I also have him rub some pain rub into my hips and back (made by a friend using essential oils). Also yoga poses and rolling against a wall with a lacrosse ball (tennis ball would work too, it's just not as hard).
Avatar f tn You can't do heavy lifting especially from the floor. Like she said you can miscarry since your in first trimester. Just go for walks or some wall pushups.
Avatar f tn I did yoga but once your belly gets big you need to buy a prenatal yoga video that is for big bellies.
Avatar f tn She tailored it to our pregnancy weeks. We used the wall a lot, did a lot of breathing and relaxation and did a lot of balance and strengthening poses bc the way she put it "we need to balance the pregnancy flexibility with strength" (so we don't just fall over with our looser (is that a word?) muscles. Anyway, I live in the middle of nowhere, so I actually have to drive an hour to town for this class. I think it's worth it. Hands down.
Avatar f tn I was in your exact boat when I got pregnant again. Just had a misscarage and was worried. I started yoga right away.just start slow and dont push it. There are lots if YouTube videos to help you know what poses are safe. If you didnt exercise before yoga is still safe as long as you are careful with the poses. My mother in law did yoga religiously and her labor was 10 mins once she got to the hospital. It really helps me with the back pain now. Don't know what I would do without it.

1281428 tn?1298328581 Hi, and a belated welcome! I've been practicing Yoga since I was 12 (that was 1970!!). Before MS, I found it complimented all my favorite sports: I was an avid surfer and road cyclist. I still ride my bike. I find it easier to bike than walk. I sold my surfboard this week. I've backed down a level (level II-III to II) in Yoga, but it's my path. It's as essential as breathing to me. It has indeed helped me with spasticity.
Avatar f tn Ur body starts to produce a chemical called relaxin to soften joints so the baby can pass through. Some stretching will help. I do some yoga pregnancy poses-warrior pose, pigeon etc.
2025499 tn?1328888318 I can tell you from my detox to get through the anxiety yoga has been a huge help, even if you don't go to a class you can still benefit from the breathing. I visualize a color (for me indigo is so soothing) so I picture a rolling meadow with a beautiful tree on the right hand side (don't know why it is so specific but it works for me - REALLY imagine your safe place) it is all bathed in this calming indigo light.
Avatar f tn The fight over who owns yoga got a lot of attention a few years back when Bikram Choudhury said a series of yoga positions done in a room heated to over 100 degrees was his intellectual property. Legal fights ensued. http://www.npr.
649848 tn?1534633700 Yoga stretches all the muscles in your body and once you learn the poses and get to the point where you can move from one pose to the next without stopping, you get a good workout. Yoga is low impact, so anyone who has a problem with a lot of other types of exercise should be able to do it. You can start out standing against a wall or holding onto the back of a sturdy chair (or even another person if available) to keep from falling.
Avatar n tn You should do the yoga poses cat/cow. My prenatal teacher told us to do those as many times a day as you can.

Avatar m tn Can twisting the torso and holding it as in some yoga poses cause damage to the pylorus or any other organ that might result in gastroparesis? Also, has anyone been able to control gastroparesis by chewing longer to more thoroughly pulverize food?
Avatar n tn I was thinking maybe If I took a yoga class this may help. I would like to hear from those that are taking or have taken a class and if this has helped you throughout your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn My sciatica gets worse when I'm in the same place. I've had sciatica for years (now worse) and there are poses (yoga like) and stretches that can give you some relief. Also if you don't have a pregnancy pillow I'd suggest sleeping with a pillow between your knees. Good luck! Hope you get to feelin better!
405614 tn?1329144114 Good for you, Kathy, for getting back into the pool! You're inspiring! I've practiced Yoga since I was 12, (I'm 51, now) and I'm totally in love with road biking. I try to get in 2 Yoga sessions a week, along with 2 bike rides. There are some weeks due to symptoms, etc., that I don't get in all I want. If today is a bad day, maybe tomorrow will be better. I'm so grateful for all Yoga has taught me in stretching various muscle groups, etc.
Avatar f tn I shared with this a co-worker who experienced the same problem and figured she was getting gas lodged in the wrong parts of her body so she did gas relieving yoga poses when she was in pain. Her body was more likely to get gas from carrots, hummus, and edamame so you'll need to determine what foods your body can process. Now, I make sure I do yoga poses that relieves gas before bed and eat at least 2 hours before bed.
Avatar f tn What has helped me is stretching. Doing yoga. Look online for pregnancy yoga poses or get a prenatal yoga DVD if you don't have time for a class. Also get a maternity support belt to wear during the day. It will really help.
Avatar f tn Hi do some yoga stretches will help.
Avatar n tn Furthermore, a large part of yoga is breathing... pranayama. This is a practice which I highly recommend instruction at first... here is a small tid bit from an article on headaches and yoga. "Breathe Away Head Pain Richard Miller, Ph.D., a practicing clinical psychotherapist who has published widely on the subjects of yoga and pranayama, concurs with Dr. Holiday that headache sufferers often have upper respiratory, shallow breathing. They may also be unconsciously hyperventilating.
Avatar f tn There is pregnancy poses as an alternative to a lot of the yoga poses that we should be extra cautious about. Look it up on the web. If you feel any discomfort at any time, take the child's pose, even though the others are doing something else.
