Avatar f tn What has helped me is stretching. Doing yoga. Look online for pregnancy yoga poses or get a prenatal yoga DVD if you don't have time for a class. Also get a maternity support belt to wear during the day. It will really help.

Avatar f tn I started yoga right away.just start slow and dont push it. There are lots if YouTube videos to help you know what poses are safe. If you didnt exercise before yoga is still safe as long as you are careful with the poses. My mother in law did yoga religiously and her labor was 10 mins once she got to the hospital. It really helps me with the back pain now. Don't know what I would do without it.
Avatar m tn s important to have the right equipment to help you perform your poses with ease and safety. One of the most essential items in your yoga kit is a non-slip yoga mat, which can help prevent slips and falls and provide better stability during your practice. Additionally, a yoga stretching strap can be an invaluable tool for deepening your stretches and improving your flexibility.
Avatar f tn When you sleep, I would also put a pillow between your knees to keep your hips/spine straight. I had horrible sciatic pain in the beginning of my pregnancy, then I sprained a foot so the awkward walking also worsened the sciatic pain. Between trying new positions and the pillow between my knees (and the foot is better) the pain is gone. I hope something helps for you.

Avatar f tn There is pregnancy poses as an alternative to a lot of the yoga poses that we should be extra cautious about. Look it up on the web. If you feel any discomfort at any time, take the child's pose, even though the others are doing something else.
Avatar f tn Talk to your instructor for modifications!

Avatar f tn I suffer with depression anxiety and ibs. I doubt any would be related to this but anyway, every night when I lay down to sleep, I get a horrid aching twitch. I can't explain weather it's in my hips and legs or hips/ pelvis. But it's happening every night. I get woken up by it, it get to the point where I'm awake until 4 in the morning because as I drift of the twitches come. I struggle with sleep as it is so I really need some advice about this.

405614 tn?1329144114 There are times when I pay dearly for any activity I do. Other times I can play baseball, ride a bike for hours, run with the grandkids, etc without any problems. Usually I have physical clues beforehand that dictate the outcome. For me, a severe increase in fatigue (and I'm always fatigued) tells me to take it easy. Sometimes I forget this is my pattern, and other times I simply have to push myself to accomplish something that needs to be done.
Avatar f tn I've had it w all 3 of my pregnancies. It's miserable. You can't really take anything for it-Tylenol doesn't do anything. Yes a chiropractor can help. What really helped me was stretching & yoga. Stretch every night & a fee times a day. Yoga poses that really helped are the warrior pose, the pigeon, & child's pose. Look them up online-but it's the only thing that helped me.
Avatar n tn I was thinking maybe If I took a yoga class this may help. I would like to hear from those that are taking or have taken a class and if this has helped you throughout your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Hi do some yoga stretches will help.
Avatar n tn I disagree strongly with that doctor. Considering my entire family is in the health care biz, and my dad's a hospital administrator who actively promotes alternative healing methods including yoga, I do have a bit of insight on that. It sounds like he or she is naive on what is out there and also likely doesn't want his business taken from him. There are different poses and practices that serve different purposes.
Avatar f tn Do some light yoga before bed. Light poses like child's pose can help adjust the baby into a better spot. It'll also tire you both out enough that you're not physically wiped out but ready to rest.
Avatar m tn I believe there are some natural remedies to sleeping problems. I would also suggest maybe doing relaxing yoga poses or moves to de-stress and calm down before bed. WHen my mind is racing, try and writeI down what I need to do the next day. It might keep your mind from racing. If nothing works i would contact your doctor and see what they say. Good luck!
1539379 tn?1294332115 Being bed ridden for 3 months will do that to you I suppose. The real help is in forgetting though. You lose yourself in the run (or sometimes fast paced walk). You lose the anxiety. You lose the pain. You lose the feeling on edge. It releases endorphines. It provides me with reassurance that even though I 'think' I'm having heart problems instead of my gastritis, that reason can help intervene when I'm having attacks.
Avatar f tn I used to do hasta yoga before getting pregnant And after week 20 I have started it again. If you are new to yoga and need a safe place to start then look up Lara dutta's prenatal yoga in YouTube. Its about half an hour video and she has simplified the asanas for pregnant women. I would recommend watching and doing one asana at a time so that you get the right muscles to work on.
Avatar f tn I really think the yoga would help your back too. Have you tried a yoga program? Talk to a yoga instructor. She should be able to let you know what is safe for you & what isn't. Good luck with the smoking!
Avatar f tn I sleep on my belly too but not all the way like I use to and I also usually put a pillow underneath!!
Avatar f tn And what I mean by light yoga is basically the poses that help stretch and relax you. Don't get get crazy. And also talk to your dr and see what they recommend.
