Avatar f tn There are lots if YouTube videos to help you know what poses are safe. If you didnt exercise before yoga is still safe as long as you are careful with the poses. My mother in law did yoga religiously and her labor was 10 mins once she got to the hospital. It really helps me with the back pain now. Don't know what I would do without it.
Avatar f tn Best advice is look up yoga poses to help turn the baby! I did them with this one and she turned at 27w..
Avatar f tn Ur body starts to produce a chemical called relaxin to soften joints so the baby can pass through. Some stretching will help. I do some yoga pregnancy poses-warrior pose, pigeon etc.
Avatar f tn I'm really confused with what I can do to work out. I used to do hot yoga but have switched to the warm room instead. I'm confused now as to being on my back for part of the class. Everything I read says yoga is safe but not to be on your back.(?) The prenatal class doesn't start until March. Will I know if I've been on my back too long?

I had a Yoga teacher who had been practicing some 30 years before she had her first bone density scan at age 55. Her MD told her she had the bones of a 20 year old!
Avatar f tn There is pregnancy poses as an alternative to a lot of the yoga poses that we should be extra cautious about. Look it up on the web. If you feel any discomfort at any time, take the child's pose, even though the others are doing something else.

Avatar f tn It's normal. I'm 31 wks in my 3rd pregnancy. I always get it but it's more my lefy butt/hip. Try some stretching. Some great yoga poses are the warrior pose, pigeon, etc. look on Pinterest for prenatal yoga poses too. if you stretch a little even just ten minutes before bed you'll feel a huge improvement.
Avatar n tn My son started low and stayed low, but try googling it. You can probably find some yoga poses that might help but baby may just go right back.
Avatar f tn You can look up some exercise type movements to help baby change positions. Theyre really more similar to yoga poses, but are supposed to help. I want to say one i learned in l&d class was putting feet on something stable, lying on your back and lifting your hips. I know there were a few more but i can't remember. Worth a shot though.
Avatar f tn So I'm 36 weeks and 5 days,I had an appointment with my doct yesterday and she said to me that my baby is still with his head on my stomach, he hasn't dropped yet, what do you think cuz she said to me I might not be able to have a natural birth, tell me smth plz I very worried now by her words :(
Avatar f tn Yes, my hips have hurt forever all of my pregnanies. With my 1st baby I had sciatica pain. My left hip hurts so bad I wake up in pain. Your body produces the hormone relaxin which helps relax Ur hip muscles so the baby is able to pass through. What helps emensly is walking regularly (I waddle a little at 1st) and stretching. I started doing yoga too. I'm 34 wks now.
Avatar f tn I also have him rub some pain rub into my hips and back (made by a friend using essential oils). Also yoga poses and rolling against a wall with a lacrosse ball (tennis ball would work too, it's just not as hard).
Avatar n tn I have been to two different ones and one was very concerned with how my pregnancy was so far and any previous injuries. I have had some problems with loose joints and she paid close attention to make sure I was doing poses right. The other instructor didn't talk to me at all and I wasn't as comfortable with her. I would double check with dr but I think it's worth your time just take it easy and listen to your body.
Avatar m tn cardio max workout every other day and the 5 minute yoga stretch with poses at the end. I was wondering if I twisted something as well, so I was interested in any answers you got, but so far no one has answered if it is possible to twist something internally. Do you have any digestive issues?
Avatar f tn So officials are filming hundreds of yoga poses and translating ancient Sanscrit texts. They plan to send the results to patent offices around the world next month, the Washington Post reports. It's an outgrowth of a project called the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, which was originally created to fight patents on traditional Indian medicine — like turmeric for wound healing, which received a U.S. patent that was later withdrawn after India objected.
Avatar f tn YOGA!! No pills or doctors--YOGA. I was waking up every night at 12:30 for 4 days with upper abdominal pain and I couldn't go back to sleep until the pain subsided after 2-3 hours. It was not acid reflux or GERD since I took a heartburn pill and it did nothing. I shared with this a co-worker who experienced the same problem and figured she was getting gas lodged in the wrong parts of her body so she did gas relieving yoga poses when she was in pain.
405614 tn?1329144114 So, I wrote in another thread about how great my gentle yoga for people with MS class was. I focused on the positive because it was a truly positive experience. I tried to be gentle in my stretching, and backed off if the stretch reached the point of real pain. I had a near-panic situation with my mid-back starting to go into spasm when I was stretching my hip, holding my foot with a strap. The kind of spasm situation that will pull a couple ribs slightly out of place.

Avatar f tn What has helped me is stretching. Doing yoga. Look online for pregnancy yoga poses or get a prenatal yoga DVD if you don't have time for a class. Also get a maternity support belt to wear during the day. It will really help.

Both of these poses are to lengthen the upper back muscles and torso, thereby do them slowly and repeat several times.
