Business woman1 I advise my patients with similar complaints to start low intensity muscle toning (reps using 15-20 lbs 3 days a week) and upper body aerobic exercise 1-2x weekly (ie swimming, eliptical). Hiring a personal trainer may also give you the structure and guidance that will help you achieve your goal but without sustaining an injury. But the results can be slow (ie 3-6 months) Hope this helps!

483733 tn?1326798446 re really low impact, you actually do break a bit of a sweat and I was surpised to see the other day that when I did the 5 mile walk using my heart rate moniter, I burned about 550 calories without feeling like I exerted myself too much. I got mine from overstock.com and amazon because they seem to have the best selection and prices. My personal favorites are the 3 mile weight loss walk (pink cover) and the 5 mile walk.

I increase the weights I'm using, but not much is happening. At home, all you can do is use hand weights or ankle weights, or resistance bands.

This started in october/november. Last week i went away for a few days and there were mosquitos about. I'm equally uncomfortable/insecure about doing the ab-machine (crunch thing) ... even the rowing machine seems a lil too rigorous. as of now I only do the cross-trainer for around 50 min which burns 500cal.

By July you could lose about 30 pounds if you eat right and maintain a healthy workout plan, but any more than that and you will gain it back very quickly. I've always found by obsessing over the number on the scale does no good. It's about feeling good and being healthy.

Simply stand with your legs hip-width apart and your palms flat on the wall in front of you, at shoulder level. Keeping your right leg straight, slowly lift your heel off the floor behind you as you exhale. Hold for a count of five, then inhale as you slowly lower your heel back to the floor. Alternate between both legs, doing up to 10 repetitions per leg, gradually increasing the number of repetitions with each workout.

By making some (not a lot - mostly cutting back on added sugars) necessary diet changed you will feel awesome by July, on the right path to a fitter you and healthier lifestyle. I know you can do it even if it takes longer than my time frame you'll learn so much during your journey.
