Avatar n tn Usually about 15 minutes in to my workout (walking briskly on treadmill) I start to have pain in my hands. They turn red, burn, and tingle. The only thing that helps during the workout is to lift my hands up near my shoulders, elbows pointing toward the ground. As soon as I get off the treadmill, my hands return to normal. I just want to make sure this isn't something serious. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I first noticed the problem a day after heavy lifting workout. The rash started off small and slowly covered most of my bicep muscle and forearm. It was brightish red, raised, smooth and smooth edged or rounded. Only on one arm. A few days later the other arm. I thought it could have been from using equipment at the gym. Then i realized i put aftershave all over my arms. When i stopped it went away. However after a few weeks returned. This started in october/november.

Avatar n tn I had been working out alot ureing the expander stage but uneasy about how to get back to the swing of things. I do not mind workout pain but don't know how to get the weight of my thighs and stomach I have gained. If anyone want to know the process after the expanders and how I felt will be glad to share. I am so happy with the decisions I have made and althogh it has been a tough journey at times, all in all I must have had a guardian angel and I am feeling so much better.
Avatar f tn Could this be connected to my higher then normal blood pressure and is a high heart rate during excercise a red flag... do some people have a predisposition to a higher then normal elevated heart rate during excercise and is considered "normal"?
Avatar n tn Turkey, chicken, fruits and veggies are very good to keep in your diet. Stay away from mayonnaise, large amounts of red meats, fast foods, soda, high salt, high fat and sugar. Look for glucose, dextrose, and corn syrup in food labels, because thats sugar in disguise. I only exercised 3 times a week 30-60 minutes (at least 20 minutes of moderate cardio, the treadmill is good) but I increased my workout time every 2 weeks by 5 minutes, but everyone's metabolism is different.

What equipment for home use would you recommend for someone with balance issues and leg/hand stiffness as their main issues? 1) Treadmill 2) Stationary Bike Thanks! My main issues are poor balance and leg stiffness.

Avatar n tn I am allergic to just about everything and I have never had any blood pressure problems although my dad has had some recently along with a low red blood cell count but he is 51. My symptoms are just extreme pressure behind my ears and eyes after any workout that lasts anywhere from 3 minutes if it is heavy lifting to 8ish minutes of jogging. It also occurs when I do a 100m dash as well which takes about 10 seconds. I do not experience extreme neck pain though.

Avatar n tn Whenever im pushing myself during working out, whether its a set of push ups or lifting weights at the end of the set when im really pushing like when my face will get red, i will get a pretty bad headache pretty much forcing me to discontinue the workout. Just has started happening the last week, but it always seems to happen. Do I have a brain tumor or something, whats wrong?

Walking is great excercise, you don't really need any special equipment (just a good pair of shoes) and its amazing how much better I feel. I sleep better, have more energy, etc. Sorry, I know this probably isn't the information you were looking for, but I have seen so many spend a lot of money on diets, etc. just to put it back on.
Avatar n tn I lost my innitial weight loss of almost 50 pounds by cutting out all red meats ( of which i should do again). I worked out everyday accept sundays, now granted each day wasn't busting my butt! But mostly really watched what i put into my mouth. I knew i had to lose the weight and just decided it was enough. The weight did not just melt away. on adverage i lost 2 to 3 pounds a month but when I was down to 128 i was walking for over 1 hour a day. I looked really good.
29837 tn?1414538248 But, I can still do the treadmill, just at a slower speed and stationary bike, slower speed. On the nautilus equipment that I would do at the gym, I'd cut back from 3 sets of 12 reps to like 2 sets of 8 reps and drop some of the amount of weight, too. That's my tenative plan for whenever that next tx happens. If I'm doing great and can handle more, than I will, but if I'm very anemic it may be all I can handle. It's a wait & see...
Avatar n tn Biking, swimming, low impact aerobics and power walking are good exercises that will give you a good workout without raising your heart rate too high. If it continues to be high, then have the MD order a PET stress test to checkout the stress on the heart.

Avatar n tn I love running, using aerobic equipment and lifting weights; however, I ususually experience flu-like symtoms for days, sometimes weeks, later. For years now, I have felt as if a virus surfaces in me everytime I exercise. My PCP is unhelpful. My ENT recommended L-Lysine which I have been taking with a multi-vitamin everyday for a year. Any suggestions?

Even though my palps have nearly disappeared, I do experience them just like old times if I do any weight training. My diet currently consists of this: A banana for breakfast, along with my daily supplements (fish oil, garlic). Greek-style yogurt after the gym (protein to help rebuild muscle). Plain oatmeal with flaxseed for lunch (lots of fiber, a nice amount of protein). And for dinner?
Avatar f tn So maybe its a combo of the temp and shrunken capillaries, and thats why it gets soooo red with itching. I definitely dont have any allergies, diet issues or even dry skin. i just have to motivate myself not to take that long off....

534800 tn?1217170959 I have found that once its happened, doing a strenuous workout doesn't necessarily make it worse, it just doesn't start to go away until you've stopped the activity for a few days. I can be out walking for 8-10 miles (I live in Boston and we can walk everywhere) and if its hot and super humid, I'm guaranteed a nasty bout of it, but I can go run for 8 miles in the evening and it won't get worse.

No real issues with heart rate,which is good, However, when got out of surgery my right hand, which had no IV was terribly swollen and first three fingers had little motion. As time has gone by, swelling down, but thumb and first 2 fingers ache and tingle all the time. Very sensative to hot and cold and limited gripping.
Avatar n tn I wasn't in shape at all before this, but it was like the best workout ever and I was thinner and more toned than I'd ever been in my life. People didn't understand that I was sick, cuz I looked great aside from being miserable. I'd usually wake up, try to eat, and sit very still and sob quietly after my daily "writhe session" but eating was really hard cuz I stayed bloated for so long. It was bizarre.
