Back when I was 14-17 I would join my father in the gym, but his trainer gave me different things to do to just be fit and toned. I do have some equipment at my house and my husband works crazy hours so we can't just go to a gym. Plus, I would like to look semi-decent to be able to even show up at a gym. (Yea, I've let myself go that bad.

Avatar n tn If you are intersted in adding weight to increase difficulty of exercise then you can you a weighted vest, but I would only support this if you have never had joint pains. The reason we avoid adding weight like this is the same reason we encourage people to lose weight to decrease joing pain. Just pick up 10, 20, or 30lbs dumbells and picture that weight on our little joints! I would definately increase risk of injury 10 fold. I do not recommend it.

He has asked me to try and find out if there is any equipment such as an electronic device available such as massagers, vibrators etc. that he can purchase. His GPis suposed to be arranging for a physiotherapist to visit to carry out the treatment at home but as yet this has not happened. He is pretty desparate now. Please can you suggest anything?

I initially had the large vest, then lost a huge amount of weight and am now a small adult vest. The old vest was riding up under my chin and was very uncomfortable until I got my new vest. Here is the great thing about the Vest, if any parts break or you need a new vest, they replace them without any extra cost. It is under a life time warranty.

These are the frozen water type and had been hoping they would have been the phase change type instead. The first thing I noticed was just how heavy the vest is with all of the packs inserted. In fact once I had all of the packs in I tried to put in on and almost fell over backward from the swinging of the weight.

Between the strength training and cardio workout, you will burn those extra calories and fat stored in the waist and thighs, and also increase your metabolism to continue burning those calories after your workout. Remember, without the proper foods and drink in your diet, no amount of exercise will really help. Good luck! I know you can start a routine!
Avatar m tn About 3 weeks ago I had to wear a balistic vest during a search warrant. I do not normally wear this vest and it was about a 10 hour day. I sweated a lot since I am not used to the vest. After the warrant was completed I was sitting in my office doing paper work and an area of my lower back was drenched with sweat where my back was meeting the chair. I came home and showered. The next day after a pretty grueling workout I went back to work.
8793709 tn?1409594060 hi ladies I'm 8+5 now, and try to hit the gym around 4 times a week. I stopped using the hip abductor and adductor, which strengthen the hip and inner/outer thigh muscles. I'm equally uncomfortable/insecure about doing the ab-machine (crunch thing) ... even the rowing machine seems a lil too rigorous. as of now I only do the cross-trainer for around 50 min which burns 500cal.
Avatar f tn The most optimum weight loss that will stay off is if you lose 1-2lbs a week. Anymore than that and will come right back. By July you could lose about 30 pounds if you eat right and maintain a healthy workout plan, but any more than that and you will gain it back very quickly. I've always found by obsessing over the number on the scale does no good. It's about feeling good and being healthy.
Avatar f tn The problem I am having is that when I stretch, daily, and workout, mainly squats and treadmill 4-5x a week, I am miserable and in pain for quite a while. Recently I tried shaking it up and took my stretching down to only 3x a week and working out to 2-3x a week. The result: on the days I don't stretch and workout I feel like a million bucks. On the days I do stretch and workout I am miserable and feel like a $5 Bill that was left in a pocket and run through the laundry.
