i was prescribed it, but havent resorted to it yet and probably wont...but it is used for sleep and as a boost or addition to antidepressants for depression...for use at night only as it does induce sleep...(25mgs-100mgs) 600 mgs is what was prescribed when used for bipolar etc...doesnt work well for that, it now has other uses...

Should I ask my doctor to prescribe me the seroquel I had before since I used seroquel for a long time without it ever having any impact on my erections. I stopped Abilify on my own, my doctor doesnt know it. Does it mean my testosterone has become too low and if its the case what do I do about it? Does it mean Im stuck with ed for good and I need pills for it? Hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Right now I am manic with mixed states and rapid cycling. seroquel takes care of that. I saw my pdoc as i was convinced that it's time to add a mood stabilizer like the usual therapy. Back in time, I didn't tolerate neither tegretol nor lamictal. what is left is lithium or valproate. of course there are less famous drugs like trileptal, topamax,..... i took 2 pills of lithium and i had serious insomnia for 2 days, intolerable, dry mouth,...the usual.

Seroquel is being used by many doctors for sleep - my doctor gave it to me to help with sleep after I detoxed because it is "non-addictive". The dose for sleep vs. "anti-psychotic" is very low - I was prescribed 25mg and actually split that in half. It worked very well, but I did not like the way it made me feel the next day, I felt kind of moody and groggy, but for short term help for sleep, it does work.

When i used to take 600 mg i used to work so much i used to think so much, i was creative, i used to repair friends computer, used to self study. Now after risperdal if i think little also something stops, if i worry little also somthing makes tension on head, i became disable to work fast. slow makes. Then i took seroquel and started to feel fresh and started to move outside.

Personally it works really well for me anxiety, hypomanic moments and I am darned sure my depression. This med is great, there is a lot of flexibility in dosing, personally, and I'm not going to say this is for anyone else, if I feel really anxious, I call in a "Manic Panic", I can add an extra 50-100mgs a day during those periods of time.(with permission of my pdoc). He prefers this over taking ativan or other drugs in that class. I am rapid cycling and mixed states.

Part of it also depends on whether you're BP I or II, and whether your main problems are depression, mania, or a lot of both, and whether you have psychosis in the mix. Lamotrigine and carbamazepine are generics, for the record, and Abilify and Seroquel are still under patent and so there aren't any generics yet.

seroquel is an anti-psychotic that really isn't for the purpose of treating anxiety....although from what I've seen in someone I know taking it is a reduction in the 'racy mind' symptom...and helps to induce sleep. rmjm is the link to diabetes from long term high doses?

Seroquel on the other hand bulds up slowly but will never feel like xanax Seroquel is a med with mood stablizing side effects used mostly for bi polar.I personally would not choose seraquil for anxiety unless I had underlying symptoms.The benifit of seroquel is it stays in your system longer than the xanax does, it would also get rid of the comming down feeling you can sometimes get with xanax.25mg.

I was prescribed Seroquel for insomia. It is one of the side effects of the drug. I didn't like the other side effect which is having an enormous appetite. I stopped using Seroquel and didn't have any fall out. I think I was on and off them for around 3 weeks. My dose never went above 200mg.

seroquel is a great crisis drug for some people but it isn't a good way of life..took it for months and hated the clumsiness it gave me (athlete) how lazy it made me feel..the overly numb feeling..the blood pressure drops..tardive dyskenisia which i get with most of the drugs lesser with anxiety meds than anti psychotics..Some people just don't do well with these powerful drugs and there isn't a lot of sympathy from people who prescribe them..Omega 3 pharmaceutical grade..CBD oil..

This is creazy what is going on here. I am starting to take off. No triggers, just rising without any med changes. I am aware of the kindling effect. Once a young doctor told me you are wrongly medicated all your combo is antipsychotics. You should take a mood stabilizer. He meant simply an anticonvulsant like depakote, tegretol, etc... or the king lithium. I tried them for a very short period but i found them kind of poison.

Have you tried melatonin? About the safest supplement around, and one of the most researched pharmaceutical products out there. Very small doses work best for sleep, about .5mg or 1mg. I'd rather take the real thing than a chemical variant such as Rozerem, but that's just me. They're both pharmaceutical products, and melatonin is a lot cheaper and has been used a lot longer.

I haven't heard of it being used a lot without a mood stabilizer, but it is always best to go with the least amount of drugs possible to control the mood swings.

25 mg. is the smallest dose of Seroquel available and is a subclinical dose but you have to follow your psychiatrist's instructions but it should not be a big deal. Each drug has its pro and con, for instance although abilify is newer than seroquel but the majority take the last one because the 1st is activating and can cause anxiety contrary to seroquel which is good for anxiety. so they say the combo which suits your BP is the one you choose. obesity nowadays is the current state of affair. people get fat whether they have BP or not, e.g. the weather, junk food, etc... in my view health is the only thing which matters. i.e. search for a diet.

ve been on 300 mg of Seroquel for several years. My mood stabilizer is Lamictal. For me, both of these medications are essential in reducing the severity of mood swings. I'm also taking Celexa for depression. A depressive phase could come crashing down---stay vigilant and proactive in managing your moods!

Clonazepam is classified as an addictive drug and controlled substance. Seroquel isn't. I"m not sure why your doctor wants you to take seroquel -- you don't say why here. This is a drug intended for a limited purpose that was marketed illegally for all kinds of things, mostly for sleep because an unwanted side effect of it is a lot of sedation. You'd probably find quantitatively more problems quitting clonazepam, as it's one of the hardest of brain drugs to stop taking.

Hi loss of libido can't be sure, though at high dose you feel lethargic indeed. seroquel has been for me a God send preventing mixed states. It also makes you sleep well. But my dose is small 50mg maximum and most of the time 25mg. I can't dispense of it it's my main drug.
