Just because you have HIV does not mean you have TB. But here is the catch, around 30% of the worlds population carry TB, 10% of that population will eventually contract active TB wich can be deadly if not treated ASAP. Even those on treatment could possibly die due to the disease progress, or the medications used to treat TB.
After a month went to a reputed hospital of our country for confirming tb. Doctors did all the test. They also gave elisa 3rd generation hiv test .It was after 45 days of blood transfusion. Came negative result. Tb was concluded and told to continue medicines for 9 months. I did complete the medicine course being always scared of MDR tb by googling on net, every 2 months doctors visit, multiple ct scan and xray. Doctors said an old scar is remaining and you are healed.

I have checked Hiv 1 & 2 abs test after 4 & 5 months, is it conclusive or i have to wait for anohter 1 month for extra sure.
What is known as elisa method? whether hiv detection has to be done only through elisa or normal hiv 1 & 2 Abs test is enough.
When is normally a hiv test should be done after a possible exposure for 100% sure.
Kinldy do the reply to relive by fear.

after 45 days post transfusion i was visiting a renowed hospital in India (my country) for satisfaction that yes i indeed had tb nothing else....they did all the test and said to continue tb medication for 9 months and i did that....they also did HIV elisa 3rd generation post 45 days of blood transfusion..and negative result came back....fast forward 2 years later in september 2017 i caught dengue fever...i recovered within 10 days...
I was in South Africa in September 2011 and had protected sex with 4 CSWs. I got myself tested after the 3 month mark and the result was negative (Elisa test for HIV 1 +2)

So, if TB is confirmed, then AKT4 can be started. The rifampicin capsule has to be taken empty stomach in morning. The rest three tablets are to be taken after proper breakfast.

I just met the doc about an hour ago and he advised me that I mmight have a latent TB or TB infection and asked me to get a test done...called Elisa Test for some IGM and IGG...why do you think he has asked for it...he said something related to the immunity system of the body...also he told me the infection that I have has been there for some time and not a recent one ...so immunity system of the body must be good...throw some light ...
My husband recently took the TB QuantiFERON® test and it came back positive. He is from India but he has no symptoms of any infection. We recently took a CT scan of the chest to rule out sarcoidosis and nothing abnormal was found in the lungs.
He has had the BCG vaccine back home in India and we dont know if that can produce a positive test result.
Though fair to say that it all started after an event of high risk protected sex which left me in guilt and anxiety. My provider has written a mantaux test which is for TB I think. I have had lungs TB 6 years back which got away after treatment.
So will that affect the mantaux test? Also what can be reasons other than std and TB for genital pain and overall malaise.
Though I still doubt herpes test.can anyone of u suggest what to do from here.I'm extremely tired of malaise and pain.
When I heard the news, i started feeling numbness and tingling in my legs and hands every night and day and does not stop. I keep on being very worried. As I wait for the confirmatory test, is the numbness related to HIV or anxiety?
I tried meditating and emptying my thoughts, I did a rest from work and I felt good and relax. When I remembered the testing, again the numbness is felt.
course treatment for active TB is isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol for two months, then isoniazid and rifampicin alone for a further four months. The patient is considered cured at six months (although there is still a relapse rate of 2 to 3%).
