Avatar f tn If she's vomiting this frequently, I would definitely recommend getting routine blood work (to evaluate her white and red blood cells, and kidney and liver function). That's one of the least invasive ways of ruling out liver or kidney failure. It's also important to different if it's vomiting vs. regurgitation. Vomiting is active retching (often with a yellow bile color) vs.

574118 tn?1305135284 Please consult your physician to rule out the possibility of the Congestive heart failure as a cause of generalized swelling. I don’t think mitral regurgitation can cause generalized swelling before causing breathlessness and thus I won’t attribute the obesity to the underlying heart disease. Regards and do keep me posted.
Avatar n tn s better to have it done before reaching the severe level, and whether having it done earlier than later would increase the chances for a repair versus a replacement. As well as improve my chances for a minimally invasive procedure. Since I'm asymptomatic, can exercise, and have no apparent life style limitations currently, my deciding when to have surgery is based upon the following considerations. - Would having it done sooner improve my chances of having a repair?
Avatar n tn A problem that can be confused with vomiting is regurgitation, which is the ejection of contents of the esophagus. Food moves quickly through the esophagus to get to the stomach. If the muscle of the esophagus loses tone, the esophagus dilates (Megaesophagus). A dilated esophagus does not effectively move food to the stomach and the animal will regurgitate food usually shortly after eating. You might want to take him to the vet.

Yes I do eat alot of spicy food and citrus also adds in my diet. But I have stopped such food intakes for the past three weeks. But the problem has grown. What should I do now?

Avatar n tn imaging shows a small area of possible myocardial ischemia versus shifting breast tissue attenuation artifact. These abnormalities are in the distribution of the left descending artery. I would like to mention that I had recently had chest pain and was put on beta blockers which gave me bad side effects including worsening chest pain and low heart rate and tingling in hands and feet, it has since been reduced but still have symptoms.
Avatar f tn It can also cause a discomort in the chest and heartburn and regurgitation of food. Have you have ever swallowed wrong and feel that pain in your throat and chest? Thats what esophagal spasms can do. When you threw up that time you may have had irritation from the contents you threw up. Its often acidic and can hurt your throat.
Avatar f tn just went through open heart surgery to repair his mitral valve. He had severe regurgitation. Since before he went in for the surgery he has been taking Cardizem 120 & even after surgery they kept him on the medication with 1 baby aspirin a day. They said they would monitor him for the next few months and decide if he can come off or not. Since then he had his echo cardiogram & they reported his heart muscle function has decreased.
Avatar m tn After couple of months, I started getting more burps this time and also regurgitation. Initially, I used to have burning sensation through my esophagus. I have started taking the Prilosec 20 mg before breakfast and dinner. Now, I am not getting any heart burn sensations. But, I do get LOTS of burps in a day. Its more than 100 per day!!! Sometimes, I will not be able to burp at all and lot of discomfort. Especially, when I laying down, I CANT burp. I have to get up or sit to burp.

Avatar n tn My daughter is 23. She has been having nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, gas, bloating for the past several months. She had a gall bladder function test - works 0%. Alot of acid in the stomach. Tried to do a stomach emptying study, but could not keep the food down for it to happen. Now trying to treat her with Reglan. Thinks she has gastroparesis. Do her gall bladder need to come out? If her stomach starts moving the food, will the gall bladder begin working again?
Avatar f tn Patients with GERD do not normally vomit. What they do experience is called Regurgitation. Regurgitation is the feeling of acid backing up in the throat. Sometimes acid regurgitates as far as the mouth and be experienced as a "wet burp." Are you referring to this as vomit? As a general rule that "burp" burns as it contains stomach acid. Those are typical symptoms of GERD. But uncommonly and in rare cases, it may occasionally come out on forcefully as vomit.
Avatar f tn I now have worsening mitral valve regurgitation. I am having symptoms much like I had with congestive heart failure. I had recent echo, and my EF back to 50%, but mitral valve regurgitation is now moderate. Does this now mean that I am progressing in a one way manner towards death? If my left ventricle is now pumping 50% of the blood in it every beat, but up to 40% of that is now coming back into the left ventricle, does that mean that my cardiomyopathy will once again cause my EF to tank?
Avatar f tn My mama was really sick when pregnant with my brother but not sick at all with my sister or me. I wasn't sick at all carrying my son (you would think if there was a trend at all it would be genetic but doesn't look that way) and have only been moderately nauseous this time but don't know which gender we're expecting.
Avatar f tn My 17 year old son had a sports physical and complained of light-headedness and vomiting twice in the past two months during strength training at his school. Sometimes he has also complained of having trouble breathing during the workout when he was wrestling for the school two years agol. The physician would not clear him. He has since had blood work (all normal) and an echo cardiogram.
Avatar f tn Was good for awhile but then in 08 was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, multiple pulmonary nodules, and mitral regurgitation and trace amnts coming from tricuspid and pulmonic valves as well. Then prolonged QT, enlarged heart w/ left ventricle dilation, minimal cardiomegaly and now dilated cardiomyopathy with preserved ejection fraction. Latest incident was substantial edema to feet, ankles and calves. Got CT scan and found edema in the lung as well. BNP was slightly elevated at 257. Dr.
Avatar f tn I just got a call from the office saying that the Tricuspid Valve has trival regurgitation with RV pressure at 21. They left a message that I can just have it watched or that I could have the office send my son to a specialist. I am at awe at what to do. I left a message for someone to call me back so I could ask questions about this. What does all this mean.
4487133 tn?1355332064 My 15 month old English Bulldog has been vomiting for about 6 weeks now (daily, sometimes twice daily). If it is after a meal, then she throws up the entire meal. If it is not near a meal, then she throws up a large amount of bile colored drool. She eats only her recommended amount of Innova-Weight Control dog food twice daily (given to her in small amounts at a time) - No table food at all. She has been taking half a tab (37.
Avatar f tn Since the diagnosis he has been taking Motillium. Apart from the occasional nausea and vomiting my son has been suffering from reflux. He doesn't have the usual burning that is normally associated with acid reflux, he only experiences the very embarrassing and frustrating symptom of regertation into his mouth, this can happen over 50 times a day and in the most inappropriate moments.
Avatar f tn It is impossible for me to say with certainty whether your mitral regurgitation is causing your shortness of breath without seeing your echocardiogram myself (to see other measurements on tho e echo which would better determine whether the regurgitation is a problem or not). If you severity of regurgitation has increased from mild to moderate, then a repeat echo at some point is certainly indicated.

Avatar n tn I'm wondering if over-exertion can cause vomiting in parrots? My conure's wings have been growing out and I haven't gotten around to trimming them yet. I had her out of the cage today and something startled her so she flew around the room. After she landed I picked her up and tried to calm her down. She shook her head from side to side and what looked like small bits of vomit flew out of her beak.
