Hi, I'm approx 8 weeks along. I have been vomiting for 24hrs and have had diarrhea too. I haven't been able to eat anything for around 36hrs without bringing it straight back up (I tried plain crackers and dry toast). Even sipping water has me vomiting within 15/20mins of doing so. Question is, should I go see a Dr or maybe there is something I can get from a chemist that can help? Or is this normal and I just need to ride it out? Getting concerned as I feel quite dehydrated...
Hi,I'm 17 years old and during the past month every few days or week I'd feel nauseous and start vomiting and get diarrhea for a whole day and I wouldn't eat until the next day. And after a few days the same thing would happen.
So can anyone tell me what's wrong? is it something serious??
While there are several things on a list of safe drugs to use for diarrhea or vomiting while pregnant, because you have BOTH you will need to consult your doctor. He should have an on-call or weekends doctor who can respond promptly to you. In the meantime, small sips of fluids all the time (clear fluids..water, sprite, ginger ale, etc) and bland foods like crackers and toast.

He was put back on Prevacid and went a week without vomiting until today. The diarrhea is awful. Then 4 days ago my husband come down with some virus thing with vomiting and diarrhea so we wondered if they were related? Who knows...just sent a stool sample to the lab today and the dr wants to start him on flagyl to see if it treats the diarrhea. We can't see a specialist until October and I'm at a loss for answers.
Your diarrhea is likely due to another cause. If you have no rash or skin problems, "sun poisoning" is not your problem.
I woke up about six more times through the night with very liquid and acidic diarrhea, but no more vomiting. The next day I felt weak, but slowly recovered through the day. I had quite a bit of gas, mostly very foul smelling flatulence, but no diarrhea or vomiting. The following day I felt better and ate normal again. I passed stool twice, both times it was soft and very green in color. That night I went through the same series of events, only without vomiting.
I wonder if you are having an epidemic with the following symptoms: diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, fever ... and how to treat if the symptoms persist. Should I go to emergency room?
can you try a small amount of psyillium as metamucil without the sugar? smelly diarrhea can be an indication of colitis or IBD....may also be very useful to use a probiotic like Primal Defense....this is for good bowel flora, comes in a powder and just sprinkle a small amount on his food....hope no Vet visit is needed...:(

Diarrhea, threw up once , stopped eating and went right to fluids, muscle aches and chills. Yesterday no vomiting, chills or muscle aches just diarrhea and a really awful headache. Diarrhea had slowed a little but still had to take a first dose of Imodium. Today was still watery stool so I took a second dose. Feeling better other wise but my stool has gone from light brown at the beginning of this ordeal to very dark greenish brown like a shade darker than pine or dark olive green.
She is now being doubled over w/pain in the lower abdomen, severe nausia, vomiting constantly, and bloody diarrhea. Over the past six weeks, she has been in the hospital 4 times - had 3 colonoscopy, upper GI, blood work, stomach biopsy, colon biospy. They determined that she has ischemic cholitis. The last colonoscopy said this condition was "healing nicely" but less than 1 week later she is back in the hospital - and worse than ever! She is weak, vomiting, diarrhea etc.
Several years ago I had the same problem but everything went aways once my gallbladder was removed. The episodes of vomiting and diarrhea last anywhere from hours to 2 days. I have recorded what I am eating to see if it is a food allergy but only thing i have found in the past week is butter makes me sick but not other dairy products. I went to a chiroprator that gave me a questionare about health sympotms and he recommeded me having my thyroid checked.
If he keeps vomiting or the diarrhea gets bad, he does need emergency care, simply because his water intake will not keep up with his dehydration risk. A tiny dog is at greater risk too.
If he stabilizes, and there is no more vomiting etc, then just fast him completely for 24 hours with just water, then try him again with plain boiled rice, then if he keeps that down and seems hungry, gradually start mixing some plain boiled white fish or chicken breast in with the rice.
