vomiting yellow phlegm

6 months (or more) ago i felt like there is something in my throat.like a very thick phlegm but i just ignored it and got used to that feeling. 3 weeks ago i had cough and colds then i started to produce light green color with a grayish spots sputum and it is very very thick. But its not always like that, most of the time it is clear. more or less 5 times a day that week. After a week, the cough goes aways but i still produce that kind of phlegm once a day.

Dear Dr, after a possible HIV exposure I had a swollen lymph node, sore throat and yellow phlegm. However I am aware that viral infections typically result in clear, white, phlegm whilst bacterial infections cause yellow phlegm. Does this still apply to HIV? (Furthermore, I only had 1 swollen lymph node in my neck, which again points to a bacterial infection as acute HIV would cause widespread swelling of lymph nodes). Thankyou.

I went to see a Dr as i was bringing up a yellow phlegm and had a very wheezy chest. She ordered a chest x-ray of the front and right side, she also had my blood taken. Anyway about a day after I had the tests taken I started to bring up yellow phlegm that had pin pricks of blood in it. I went back to see her today and she said that my x-ray was clear and look in good nick. she did tell me that i had a virus in my blood.

I have ordered some Kali Bich which is a homeopathy pills that may help (they are supposed to help if you have too much thick yellow phlegm) and I have recently started giving myself a nasal wash – basically shooting salt water up your nose. This does clean me out but does nothing about the symptoms for the rest of the day. I am willing to try anything to help.

I went to bed last night with a lot of phlegm in my throat and woke up this morning with a lot of soreness and phlegm once again. I tried to hack up the phlegm. Most of it was clear or yellow. Then I managed to get a real good one... I hacked up a real thick sample that was directly from my throat, and spit it out onto a tissue. I noticed a streak of blood on the tissue mixed with yellow phlegm. I continued to try to bring phlegm up, and didn’t notice the blood anymore.

Every morning for 3 months, I've to cough up yellow phlegm. I cough very little during the day, but a bit more in the evening. I've had a dry cough for a year before that. I really concerned. A flu or something would go away in 3 weeks. I'm not feeling ill, just coughing. Went to my GP and got trsted for different bacteria and got a chest x-ray. All was normal. So what is it? Going to see my GP again next week, but i really bothers me.

Okay so it started almost half a week ago I'd say.. I wasn't feeling sick at all, but for some reason I just started coughing up a lot of phlegm.. clearish to yellow colored. I don't smoke cigarettes, only on the occassional weekend. I do smoke pot. Anyways I thought the phelgm coughing up mighta been caused by some resin I was smoking, but they said that was black phlegm, not clearish yellow... this is an edit. The color of my phlegm is a light yellow and the consistancy of the phlegm varies. When i excersise or smoke, my phlegm becomes a thicker consistency. My worries are that the phlegm occurs when i am not smoking. I do not smoke cigarettes. Your help is much appreciated.

Hi, i recently got over a cold/flu and now after a month i still have a mild cough with yellow phlegm that doesn't want to go away? I have asthma though so i dont know if its because of the cold i had before or the astma.

My nose is stuffed up on one side and there is clear and yellow phlegm present. I feel like my cough is coming from either my throat or deep in my chest cavity. I can breath fine when I'm not having a coughing fit, never smoked, normal appetite, no pressure or pain in chest, and no sore throat present at the time. If you have any ideas or insight on what may be going on, comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Don't discount acid reflux as the culprit, or underlying problem. I have acid reflux and if it goes untreated, or gets out of control, I have allot coughing and cough up phlegm. It's usually milky, to yellow in color and it can be thick. It wouldn't hurt to try an over the counter drug, like . You don't have to have heartburn symptoms, to be suffering from acid reflux. the phlegm WAS dark yellow/green, now it is very light yellow/white

I only get the dark green/yellow phlegm when I wake up. The rest of the day, it seems normal color... I mean transparent with a little whitish bubble, but it feels a lot more stickier than normal spit.

I cough up thick yellow phlegm and wheeze terribly every day from about 10 AM until 1 PM. By late afternoon I am absolutely fine. At night when I go to sleep I feel something (phlegm?) deep in my throat. However, I do NOT feel anything draining from my sinuses any more (as I did at the very beginning of all of this), nor is my nose runny, nor do I feel any sinus pressure. Allergy medicine has had no affect. Should I be worried? What could this be? Allergies? Infection? Please help.

Another consideration, he may be swallowing a lot of phlegm at night...and the rash was from being too warm and sweating...If he has a high amount of phlegm, the lump may be a lymph node that is enlarged....If he is fighting a chronic inflammation of some type (food allergy, soap sensitivity, ear or throat infection) this could be it too...Sorry, I think I may have given more questions than answers...Hope it helps..

I suggest you should really go see your doctor, cause that's what doctors are for. But drinking fresh fruit juice like orange juice can help get your phlegm out easier especially when it's very thick and green/yellow. Drink water and don't forget to pray. :) hope this helps.

Right after my period I noticed a yellow-greenish discharge and it hurts to pee too. The color is a mixture of partial period (brownish) and the color of phlegm to be exact. Ever since my period I've only had this type of discharge two times, second time is today. No funny smelling odor or whatsoever. The texture is just the same with a normal discharge. Not foamy. It's just the color that bothers me and the pain down there. I have a history of UTI, could that be the reason behind it?

Eating a good diet does not mean you can't get sick. Yellow phlegm is usually a sign of a bacterial infection. Drink plenty of water, rest up, and your body should fight off the cold in a while.

This morning I threw up some odd yellow stones. I was brushing my teeth, but I have a terrible gag reflex and felt like I had to spit up phlegm. Then these came out. My son had his first fundo done at 3 months it lasted without any major problems until he was 2 1/2. at that time he had to have a redo fundo and he has been upchucking for about 3 months. if any one has any answers, please help.

My first instinct is to ask if you are a smoker?? Have you had this type of phlegm before?? Do you have phlegm on a regular basis or is this a first time occurrence?? Do you have any kind of pain involved, either in your chest or throat??
