Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting symptoms treatment

vomiting

Avatar n tn Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Watch out for a day or two with this treatment. If still the symptoms persist, then you may need an antibiotic for the gut and would need to see a doctor. If after the antibiotic course too the symptoms persist, then there is a chance that you have developed either IBS or some food intolerance. In that case you would need to consult a gastroenterologist. Please go through as advised.
Avatar f tn Hello Dear, Known causes of potassium deficiency include excessive diarrhea and vomiting. The treatment in these cases should be for the diarrhea and vomiting, and ensuring there continues to be sufficient potassium in the diet. Mineral supplements may also be necessary. If the vomiting is self-induced, as in bulimia, psychiatric treatment may be indicated. Hyperthyroidism, an illness of the thyroid, the main hormone producing gland, is also known to cause potassium deficiency.
Avatar f tn m concerned if that would be too stressful for the body but then again, would it help kill the virus as well as the symptoms. I so want to start treatment as my symptoms are so debilitating every day and I'm having a hard time waiting for my turn to get treated. I really would like to know is other people out there are suffering from their symptoms as much as I am?
1289093 tn?1309361078 He was better while he was being treated but the symptoms came right back after he was done with the treatment. He has tried Protonix early on which helped for a while, then the symptoms came back. They put him on Prevacid after the H. Pylori treatment but it did not help. Most recently they put him on Kapidex which helped for about a week then the symptoms came back again even worse. His doctor told him he also has thick blood and a high white cell count.

You must be enrolled in this program and sign all required agreements in order to take the medication. Read all program brochures and agreements carefully.

Avatar f tn It has been 4 days and my symptoms seem to be getting worse, or atleast not going away. Could it be possible I excreted the medicine before it was able to take effect or do I just need more time to heal? I haven't had sex of any kind.
Avatar n tn My doctor said I had acid reflux and a vitamin b12 deffecincy but the medication seemed to worsen my symptoms making me vomit a lot more ( a lot more bile and also foam even making it come up my throat without vomiting) and feel nauseus almost everyday so I took myself off of it. I don't believe that I have reflux because I can never feel the acid coming up my throat except when I was taking this medication. I also am always tired no matter how much sleep I have.

Avatar f tn I would ask to be tested for a Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. Not everyone has symptoms with a H. Pylori infection but if symptoms do occur they may include an ache or burning pain in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, frequent burping, bloating, weight loss. The Urea breath test is considered as the gold standard test in the diagnosis of H. pylori infection. It has been shown that eosinophils increase in the stomach in H. pylori infection.

Avatar m tn com/hcp/assess-and-manage-rash I am very sorry that you are having these symptoms. If you can get them under control you will be able to continue treatment. 993134 tn?1284921772 Watch out for a day or two with this treatment. If still the symptoms persist, then you may need an antibiotic for the gut and would need to see a doctor. Please go through as advised. In all probability things will settle down. At any time you feel that symptoms are worsening (more than 8-10 loose stools in 24 hrs, vomiting, feeling faint, high fever etc) please go to the ER. Meanwhile call up your doctor and find out whether a change in antibiotic is required or not.
Avatar n tn My son age 21 has had problems with nausea and vomiting, GERD, a large hiatal hernia and IBS since he was a baby all of which exacerbated his Asthma. He also had a congenital heart defect, which was corrected when he was 12. He had stomach surgery when he was 13. The Dr. removed his gallbladder, had a NISSAN and a feeding tube. He was in the hospital for 2 months after his surgery while the Drs were trying to find out why he was vomiting so much.
Avatar n tn NOR AM I A NURSE - but there was a girl on the show with the same exact symptoms as your husband - they would treat her in the hospital when she had her vomiting and then send her home once it stopped - but once home, it would start all over again - and forgive me for not remembering exactly what the problem was, but it had to do with a duct or flap in the small intestine that stopped working.
Avatar n tn You have quite a few symptoms. Initial hours are crucial for any treatment. I had all your symptoms and later on they found I had bleeding on my brain and still suffering with Post Concussion Symptoms after 2 years 2 months. Go to ER (or any doctor) asap and get evaluated.

Avatar n tn My sister and I went to Namibia in May 2008 and I was diagnosed with giardiasis after severe diarrhoea. It was treated and cleared up. My sister has been ill since then with symptoms which do fit exactly with a giardia infection . Her stool samples have come back negative for giardiasis but she has lost over 30 pounds in weight, has green mucus stool, has abdominal pain and nausea and vomiting and when she eats, nothing is digested. It comes through in her stool.
