Maybe I am being your typically over-worried mother here, but I am wondering if there are any concerns about being on Metformin when you have the flu. My 20 year-old daughter has been on Metformin for PCOS for two years. My oldesr tested positive today for the Swine flu and now my 2 year old is sick as well.I am taking the baby to the Dr in the morning.His Dr refused to see him today cause they where closing in 30 minutes.That really upset me..We have been up all night.We might be heading to the E.R. if he continues having trouble breathing and vomiting.Thanks so much.May God Bless all of you.

My 4 year old grandson was tested for swine flu and found to be positive and was given Tamisol and has been fine...although he is known to suffer with bronchitis. He was chesty with it but after a week was ok. The worst thing about it was having to pay the $100 for the flu med as my daughter couldnt name if he had been near anyone with it. He is in daycare everyday. Hes made a full recovery.

I got my swine flu & regular flu shots already & I'm glad I did. It's a personal decision for each of us, but like catann, I felt my risks of getting the flu were worse for me & my baby than getting the shot. I can tell you, I didn't have any side effects whatsoever from either shot & I do feel a sense of relief :) I work in a courhouse where people come & go with their illnesses and diseases, so for me it was an easy decision.

I was just curious since I have a few friends that went to Mexico about 10 days ago for a wedding and noone has any symptoms or has been sick from the flu and there was 60 people that went to the wedding. I have not seen anybody come out on tv or by satellite that has the flu. Just wanted some input.

I tried to take care myself the best i could especially right now Swine Flu is around... My daughter school has 19% of kids having Swine Flu... I do afraid my daughter might bring the flu home.. so I have to be cautious by making her wash her hand all the time and using hand sanitizer often... stay way from all her friends who have Swine flu even they said it's over and they came back to school... Our immune system are weak and virus can attack us anytime and very quick...

Also the woman who died from swine flu had many other complications and was in the hospital for some time for other reasons and then got swine flu and passed away. I am not really scared. At first when it all started I freaked out, but then I realized, what can you really do? Just wash your hands all the time and becareful. There is always some sort of virus going around. m sure you might imagine, I have some concerns about catching the Swine flu (or one of the regular flu strains for that matter). she said that there WAS something going round, but no, it wasnt swine flu. so, now i know i javent got swine flu. the simptons i have are lack of breath, wheezing, and coughing. they usually keep me up at night. i get up in the darkness, and reach for my puffer, and puff myself a couple of puffs, and i breath in and out slowly. my mum usually comes in to give me some cough medicence, and paracetomal.
