vomiting

Avatar f tn Im 22 weeks pregnant and a bit concerned i was near someone who was coming down with chickenpox yesterday and need advice on wheater i should tell the midwife or not as i had chickenpox when i was younger so i proberly wont get them again. But really dont know wheather i should tell the midwife or not?
Avatar m tn My sense is that you are attributing coincidental finings an symptoms of the sort that most people get from time to time to this encounter out of anxiety. It is time for you to stop worrying an move forward. If you find you cannot and the symptoms are troubling you, you should seek evaluation for non-STD causes of your symptoms from your doctor. STDs and HIV are not a concern related to the encounter you describe.
Avatar f tn Thirdly, for example, shingles is commonly referred to/associated as an AIDS related disease meanline the cause is actually the chickenpox virus. The first time one contracts the virus it is chickenpox, the second time (or when it starts becoming active again) it becomes shingles. Taking this into light shouldn'tt HIV tests be testing for something else? And should shouldn't people's medical history be taken into account as well in order for these tests to be more accurate?
Avatar f tn On my 6th day of having chickenpox. My blisters have a red outline and have greyish pus and is not leaking and i haven't burst them. Is there infection or will they scab off themselves ?
Avatar n tn I agree that this sounds like shingles. Here is information to review on it https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/shingles/symptoms-causes/syc-20353054 Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles. They have medication for it which most opt for as it is very painful.
Avatar m tn Symptoms or the lack of will never tell you anything about your status.
Avatar n tn If it's chickenpox take vitamin D at the rate of 8,000 units a day! a cool or lukewarm bath with baking soda added may help to relieve symptoms, such as itching. If it's german measles or the pox make sure he stays away from pregnant woman!! Did his doctor do a blood test for Rubella?
Avatar m tn However, the virus remains dormant in nerve tissue and may reactivate, resulting in herpes zoster (shingles) later in life. Very rarely, a second case of chickenpox does occur. Blood tests can confirm immunity to chickenpox in people who are unsure if they have had the disease.
1972798 tn?1355549267 Well dr didnt want to rule out chickenpox but said it doesnt look like chickenpox but that maybe its more of a cold that he has but rather than having cold symptoms he is having a skin irritation instead and thats how his cold is reacting... Something like that. As for me though I should be fine and if he starts to have cold symptoms or a fever to not be around him.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! The symptoms of norovirus are the symptoms of gastroenteritis. These include stomach, pain, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. I don't believe it is running around california now.
Avatar f tn VZV is spread by droplets coughed or sneezed out by someone who is already infected. The signs of a chickenpox infection are fever and malaise (feeling lousy), followed by the typical rash. The "poxes" start as small red spots, which become red bumps and then develop a small "vesicle", or bubble of clear fluid, in the middle. Eventually the vesicle breaks, the "pox" crusts over, dries, and then falls off.
1712308 tn?1308395494 It is not possible to see the photo at this moment, but from your description I would be concerned about shingles/Herpes zoster. Zoster is a reactivation of chickenpox (varicella) and usually occurs in a linear distribution starting from the back and spreading to the front (if on the body. on the extremities or head the distribution is different.).
Avatar n tn I had, last year, an episode of A-Fib due to excessive alcohol intake but my heart only went into A-fin wehen i was vomiting. It happened like three times in my life, about 7 years ago, 6 years ago and 3 years ago and always when i was vomiting after drinking.
Avatar f tn I haven't had chickenpox as a child but I has a mild case of me seals. I think my 4 yo has chickenpox and idk if I am at risk for catching it. Do I need to inform my ob I'm in contact with someone with pox?
1370830 tn?1280176503 Similar to chickenpox, the time prior to healing or crusting of the blisters is the contagious stage of shingles. Once all of the blisters are crusted over, the virus can no longer be spread and shingles is no longer contagious.
Avatar f tn You can still get shingles even if you've already had chicken pox. Most people get shingles because the virus is already inside them from having the chicken pox. It's more dangerous for a pregnant woman.
Avatar n tn First, my 2 year old daughter got a rash on the left side, front of her trunk and on top of left leg, about a month ago (still there). She has had no complaints. I thought it could be from laundry detergent. Now, my 3 year old daughter came out with it, no complaints, except when she was first getting it, she said it felt like something was poking her. I called the pediatrician, they said not to worry about it unless there were other symptoms.
1661682 tn?1313135396 She only got a few on her cheek back belly neck and legs. Never had the chickenpox nor have I seen them so not sure if it is them. Also if it is chickenpox what would this do go my unborn baby. I'm ok vs I'm immune to them. I'm 28w 4d.
Avatar n tn I have noticed since the past eight (8) months I have been having small bumps with pus on my torso, arms and legs. Initially I thought it was chickenpox because of their appearance. I have had chickenpox before. I doubt chickenpox would be on this long. I have no fever or pain. They appear randomly one, two or three at a time. They last about two days then break. They are painful and carry a creamy yellow colour. After breaking the areas itch a bit and leaves a dark scar.
Avatar n tn Hi. I have really bad chickenpox scars on my face. It's like this, I had chickenpox when I was 10 (which is 4 years ago), and the scars dont seem to heal. Maybe it's because I peeled the chickenpox off before it could really heal. Now, the scars are like small holes on my face. I always feel ashamed when I'm talking to my friends because they have really perfect skins! I did try some scars serums, but none of them really worked.
Avatar f tn I would think your GI would prefer you to have a recent physical that shows a recent EKG to rule out alternative reasons for chest wall pain. Nausea and vomiting are not symptoms of Hepatitis C. **Knowing what stage of fibrosis you have would be extremely helpful so next time you post be sure to add that. I encourage you to stick around and read posts to learn about the virus as well as read up on it on the Internet.
