592969 tn?1248325405 Oh my gosh!! My pickiest cat, Butters, refuses any salmon flavored food. He won't even eat fresh salmon. Best thoughts for your cat. I've had my other cat, Bob, have an episode of vomiting but it cleared right up w/in a few hours and we surmised he ate a bug or something like that.
Avatar f tn I believe that an overactive thyroid can cause vomiting and loose stools. Is your cat taking thyroid meds to control her thyroid issues?
Avatar f tn The vomiting and twitching might not be something serious. A cat will naturally twitch when they're in a deep sleep. My cat does it all the time and it's NOT a seizure. If you're seeing only the paws twitching and no other symptoms, then you have nothing to worry about. The vomiting, depending on how long it's been going on, may not be serious. Sometimes vomiting can be caused from a new diet change and other times it can be caused from hairballs.
Avatar f tn The vet put him on antiobiotics and recommended chicken and rice for diet. The cat has an appetite and was eating for about 4 days without any vomiting, and finally had a solid stool. Then all of a sudden he vomited over the weekend again and then on Monday he vomited in 4 different spots of the house. He has energy and a huge appetite. Can he be having these problems from overeating?
Avatar n tn Hello My Cat Luna has been vomiting a little bit more than usual the past couple of days. She doesn't usually vomit more than once or twice every 2 or 3 weeks. Last week, I went away and had my mom cat-sit for me. When I came back and brought the cat back to the house, she's been vomiting BEFORE i feed her. Which makes no sense. Her food hasn't been changed. I feed her the Iams hairball care/weight control for indoor cats.
1296191 tn?1280699873 s going on with your kitty, is the vomiting something new or has he always done it? Has he always been a thin cat in spite of eating enough?
Avatar f tn Hi, my cat was spayed less than a week ago and since then she has been vomiting every day. Her diet has not changed and her wound is healing well and does not look infected. I am concerned as she was never sick before and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else's cat after being spayed?
Avatar n tn I have recently started to feed my (16 year-old) cat a high protein diet (Orijen), devoid of all carbs, hoping to stay away from diabetes that way. Now the vet tells me that's a bad idea because a high protein level in food (anything over 40%) leads to the production of urea and actually harms the cat's kidneys. I am very confused. My cat is healthy, but which is the right food composition to keep it that way?
Avatar m tn Can I ask what the results of using vinegar have been? Never spray your cat with vinegar. Water is ok for behavioral problems; but vinegar is not. If water doesn't help, that's when you know something serious is calling for your attention. So good job for taking him to the vet. Another question. Did you adopt him first and then you got your female or did you get the female first?
Avatar m tn My cat had a urinary blockage last April which resulted in us giving him special CD canned food diet and special urinary tract dry food. He gets plenty of fresh water daily and his litter box seems completely normal - no other medical signs of distress. He is not a long haired cat, and none of his vomit contains hairballs. I really don't know how to address this issue. In terms of "time and attention", I can only do what I can.
Avatar f tn I have one cat that vomits everyday. When this first happened she was on dry food and the vomiting was so bad that she was losing a large amount of weight (starving to death). Took her in to the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave her some meds to take before she ate. I took the food and soaked in water to soften it up seemed to help for awhile.
Avatar f tn I just wrote a huge detailed reply but I'm so tired I managed to delete it because my hands are shaky. So quickly- I just lost my first cat, I'm 50, he came with the house I moved into 3 years ago. I nursed his injuries fed him well ,so I thought, and loved him very much. I'm so ripped up- I had to put Him ..... May 4th- Thiamine deficiency caught and understood too late.I was feeding him Wellness cat food.
Avatar m tn My animals do not handle vet trips well either, however if your cat is vomiting , and quite frequently, I would take him to the vet, he could become dehydrated and vomiting all the time indicates a medical issue. This could be anything from Food intolerance, allergies, parasites, etc..
Avatar f tn The vomiting and the diarrhea make me think that your 3 year old male cat is allergic to the cat food you are giving him. We have a 10 year old male neutered rescue kitty. The reason I mention him is because we had to change his food because he was vomiting too. I agree with CML2014 . Just becasue the other three cats are fine with the food you are giving them, does not mean the 3 year old male cat is okay with it.
Avatar m tn So my cat has had 2 bladder infections and might have a 3rd now. His most recent one was just about 1 month ago and was given medication and after a day or two was feeling much better. We continued medication and all was fine but now think he has one again due to his symptom of vomiting just stomach bile. We noticed this last time he had the infection. We are going to be checking his urine today to see if there is blood in it.
Avatar f tn My cat was coughing and breathing heavy. I took her to the Vet and after they took X-Ray I was told she has to be under medication for two weeks. I started her on Clavamox 15 ML but after couple of days I noticed she vomits after each intake. I was told by the Vet to give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait 20 minutes before giving her Clavamox. She is not eating food and I am giving her Garbor baby food (chicken and rice) along with Clavamox. I noticed she still vomits after each intake.
13912344 tn?1432039046 m looking for clue as to what might be wrong with my cat. He is a 10 year old short hair cat that stays in doors 95% of the time, and weighs 16lbs (yes, he's on a diet consisting of strictly canned food). Three days ago I took him outside on his leash and he tried to eat grass when I wasn't looking. When he got inside he didn't want dinner which is unheard of. Later he vomited a small amount of grass, which is normal for him if he ingests it.
Avatar f tn My senior cat has always had a tendency to vomit after eating, but now he is vomiting quite a lot. He was given a steroid (pred.) which has helped some. He is a very sensitive, nervous cat. His labs indicate that he does not have pancreatitis, and overall his lab work looks good. He had a full senior work up, as well as urinanalysis and the test for the pancreatitis (negative). He has been dehydrated, not eating well, nauseated and vomiting. Is the next step to do an ultrasound?
Avatar m tn my male cat was neutered 4 days ago, every time he eats he vomits ,even water.
Avatar f tn My cat had a very similar problem. We switched her to Hill's Science Diet. We have her on the perfect weight but they have a digestive care one as well. We have not had a single problem since we switched her to that brand.
Avatar n tn My 5 year old male cat has been vomiting for over 6 months. He is on the same food brand (purina One) since he was a kitten, He has been to the vet (VCA since my regular vet retired). They did a battery of blood tests which I was told were all normal, stomach xray also revealed nothing, but was sent home with a $900.00 vet fee and no answer as to what is causing this. It is dark brown liquid most times, occassionally there is food particles in it.
Avatar m tn My sweet 4.5 year old cat, has had IBD for most of his life. Our former vet suggested 1.25mg of prednisone every other day combined with a special diet - Hill's prescription z/d. We followed this regime for most of his life until about 6 months ago when Hudson started vomiting and having loose stools. A new vet suggested a new diet: Hill's d/d in venison and a stronger course of prednisone: 5mg twice daily for a week, 5mg once daily for a week, then 2.5mg once daily for a week, 2.
