Cat vomiting green liquid

Common Questions and Answers about Cat vomiting green liquid

vomiting

Avatar f tn He is clearly retching and heaving before he vomits, and his vomit was a small amount of brown/dark green liquid mush. There was no blood or objects. I have already done a little research on the possible causes, but I cannot seem to pinpoint what is actually causing my cat to vomit. I will be taking him to the vet soon, but I would like an idea of what is going on beforehand. Thank you for any help!
Avatar f tn my cat is an indoor outdoor cat she was fine this morning and was mainly indoors all day today. this afternoon she started to vomit(looked like her dry food) shaking and walking off balance almost as if she was drunk. she did her flea drops but on her yesterday. what should i do?
Avatar f tn I have liquid clear green stools. its hard to control bowel movements. Also , burns horribly. should I be concerned? I also had diarrhea last night with sharp stomach pains. I would temporarily fall asleep without know it as well.
Avatar n tn Please take her to the vet. Vomiting for any cause is not normal. Eating, vomiting and losing weight can be caused by hyperthyroid, kidney disease and other abnormalities. Hyperthyroid is very well controlled with medication or Iodine 131 therapy. The sooner you find out the cause, the less potential damage to her system, and most of the causes are treatable.
Avatar m tn My 2 year old cat has been throwing up about once a day for the past week. Other than throwing up, she acts normally, she is eating and drinking normally. The throw up is a brown liquid and she usually throws up during the night as we find it when we get up in the mornings. There is no smell to the vomit. Is this something serious?
Avatar m tn Did you have your cats kidney funciton checked? he vomiting could be kidney related. In this case you d need an acid protector, or green ventilated clay ( 1 tsp diluted in water daily). Hope your kitty feels better. Try to make her move more, exercise is good for everything, esp at an advanced age, including tha prevention of constipation... Best of luck!
Avatar n tn At first, the vomiting had food in it, but after the first, all subsequent releases were a dark green liquid. All vomit produced since the first yields several ounces of this liquid (bile perhaps). What should I do?
Avatar m tn I bring up clear gastric juices and finally a large amount (over a pint!) of green bileous liquid - after which I start to recover. I have no bowel movements until the next day, when I get diarrhoea. My stomach is painful for several days because of the heaving and it takes a week to fully recover. At first I thought it was food poisoning but last time it happened I ate only my own food -except for one danish pastry eaten 2 days earlier. Please help!
Avatar n tn Was it in liquid form? My cats do this when I have to squirt it in their mouths. I think it's just the saliva. They usually don't like the liquid medication. I always ask for pill form. If you see that your cat is having trouble breathing or looks like it's face is swollen then you need to get it in right away to an ER vet so that they can give it a benadryl shot and monitor your cat. Don't wait if you truly think it's an allergic reaction. Watch and see how he/she is acting.
Avatar n tn He is an entirely indoor cat. Suddenly yesterday when I was home on a work break I noticed a couple spots on the floor. At first I thought for some reason he didn't use his box and the thought puzzled me, but I smelled it and it had only a faint scent of cat food. So I thought maybe it was a hairball and would clear out, his appetite hadn't changed. But he vomited 3-5 more times that day and only pooped one more time. He ate little food.
Avatar f tn However today she just through up what looked like a hair ball then a bit of brownish liquid. After vomiting she lost he balance her rear legs gave out then she stumbled forward about 10 mins after she was eating and drinking water and seems completely fine. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I bring her to the vet or is this somewhat normal for a cat who has never vomited?
Avatar n tn )...She was pretty crazy (her normal self) for the first few days after surgery despite our best efforts to "keep her calm" and "no running, jumping etc" She has definitely slowed down in the past 2 days but isn't "acting sick" other than the vomiting. She looks at the food as if she WISHES she could eat it but doesn't eat much. Did she maybe "do too much" and is now paying for it? I've had 4 c-sections so I can kind of sympathize with her...
Avatar n tn My 4 year old cat is doing same things...she is vomiting clear liquid/foam, she won't eat and doesn't drink much, vet said he couldn't find anything. I am getting so worried about her, she has lost so much wieght...I just don't know what to do....can anyone help me???
13912344 tn?1432039046 m looking for clue as to what might be wrong with my cat. He is a 10 year old short hair cat that stays in doors 95% of the time, and weighs 16lbs (yes, he's on a diet consisting of strictly canned food). Three days ago I took him outside on his leash and he tried to eat grass when I wasn't looking. When he got inside he didn't want dinner which is unheard of. Later he vomited a small amount of grass, which is normal for him if he ingests it.
Avatar f tn I woke up 3 days ago with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. They nausea went away and I only vomited twice. For the remainder of that day until current my diarrhea is almost completely water or a mustard color liquid. I went to the ER two days after start due to shaking and weakness. At that point, I had only eaten 2 crackers, a few sips of water and a couple of sips of soda to calm my stomach.
Avatar n tn My cat has been throwing up since this afternoon, she is quite old (and has suffered with ear problems for a long time, she went to the vet yesterday for a check up on her ear). I have never seen her throw up this much and it is worrying me that something is wrong, she just seems to be throwing up a white foam(?) liquid and can't keep any food down. She keeps trying to moisture her mouth and I can tell she is having difficulty swallowing/has a sore throat now(?
Avatar m tn I passed stool twice, both times it was soft and very green in color. That night I went through the same series of events, only without vomiting. My stomach got uncomfortable and I had bad gas. I then had awful diarrhea several times through the night. Very liquid and acidic again. I experience very painful butt burn. There is no blood in the diarrhea. I have had a cough for the last couple days of it. Also, a stinging in my left arm, right above and around the elbow.
4443289 tn?1354656043 My cat vomited up his food on Sunday morning, so I gave him a little tuna (since it was soft food), he later then threw that up, and wouldn't eat anything else. He continued throwing up for the rest of Sunday and Monday morning. Obviously he only began throwing up white or clear liquid since he had nothing left in him. I took him to the vet on Monday and they said they couldn't feel any blockage and his temperature was fine. They gave him a shot to calm his stomach.
Avatar f tn I have one cat that vomits everyday. When this first happened she was on dry food and the vomiting was so bad that she was losing a large amount of weight (starving to death). Took her in to the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave her some meds to take before she ate. I took the food and soaked in water to soften it up seemed to help for awhile.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Hope Mocha is feeling better by now. Does he have any other symptoms besides listless and vomiting and has he only vomited once or many times? I know I didn't see this post until today but here's some info for you that if you can't use this time you may find helpful in the future. 1) It could be from medication. Antibiotics wreak havoc sometimes causing vomiting and/or diarrhea. Also if he is on pain medication that causes nausea a lot of times.
