Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting cat medication

vomiting

Avatar f tn I noticed she still vomits after each intake. How can I stop her vomiting. She still has another week to go before she finishes her medication.
Avatar f tn How can I stop my cat from vomiting? She is taking Clavamox drops and was vomiting after each use. I spoke to her Vet and was told that I should give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait for 20 minutes and then give her Clavamox. She is not eating and Vet suggested to give her baby food with the Clavomox. I am doing what I was told but my cat is still vomiting.
Avatar f tn I have one cat that vomits everyday. When this first happened she was on dry food and the vomiting was so bad that she was losing a large amount of weight (starving to death). Took her in to the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave her some meds to take before she ate. I took the food and soaked in water to soften it up seemed to help for awhile.
Avatar m tn my male cat was neutered 4 days ago, every time he eats he vomits ,even water.
Avatar f tn My cat (1.5 year-old Bengal) has been vomiting (once a day) sine 3 days ago, and she makes this painful noise before she vomits, and it sounds like she in a lot of pain. I took her to the vet on Thursday and the vet ran blood test and found really nothing (except that he red cell count was higher than normal). He said she's probably having a stomach problem and gave her medication for it.
Avatar n tn Please take her to the vet. Vomiting for any cause is not normal. Eating, vomiting and losing weight can be caused by hyperthyroid, kidney disease and other abnormalities. Hyperthyroid is very well controlled with medication or Iodine 131 therapy. The sooner you find out the cause, the less potential damage to her system, and most of the causes are treatable.
13912344 tn?1432039046 m looking for clue as to what might be wrong with my cat. He is a 10 year old short hair cat that stays in doors 95% of the time, and weighs 16lbs (yes, he's on a diet consisting of strictly canned food). Three days ago I took him outside on his leash and he tried to eat grass when I wasn't looking. When he got inside he didn't want dinner which is unheard of. Later he vomited a small amount of grass, which is normal for him if he ingests it.
Avatar m tn hi Frank, phone your Vet immediately in the morning, do not give the morning meds until you have talked to them, its NOT normal for a cat to be vomiting like this and could well be caused by the medication, the Vet should prescribe a change that would cause this side effect. what is he taking?
Avatar m tn We continued medication and all was fine but now think he has one again due to his symptom of vomiting just stomach bile. We noticed this last time he had the infection. We are going to be checking his urine today to see if there is blood in it. But the question is, why would have have back to back infections like this if he does have the infection like I believe? Is the vomiting connected or not connected?
Avatar f tn Vomiting in cats can be caused by many different things. Diabetes is one cause that is high on the list. Please bring him to the vet and have him checked for diabetes ASAP. Other possible causes include: inflammatory bowel disease or other digestive disorder, gastrointestinal parasites, food allergy, constipation and anal gland problems, gastrointestinal neoplasm, and others. Only a vet visit and appropriate diagnostic testing can sort this out.
Avatar f tn Sounds to me like she may need at least an xray to see if there is a blockage in her intestines----This is very serious and urgent that you let the Vet do what he needs to do . Vomiting everything she eats was what caused my cat to have exploratory surgery to see if there was a blockage---thank God there wasn't but she was a very sick little girl..
592969 tn?1248325405 Oh my gosh!! My pickiest cat, Butters, refuses any salmon flavored food. He won't even eat fresh salmon. Best thoughts for your cat. I've had my other cat, Bob, have an episode of vomiting but it cleared right up w/in a few hours and we surmised he ate a bug or something like that.
436973 tn?1217947089 How often is normal for kitties to have upset tummies? My cat seems to vomit a few of times a month. Often twice in a day then she'll be fine for a couple of weeks and then again twice in a day. She doesn't ever act like she doesn't feel well. Just throws up and is done with it. It is not hairbally at all. Shoould I be worried?
Avatar n tn Was it in liquid form? My cats do this when I have to squirt it in their mouths. I think it's just the saliva. They usually don't like the liquid medication. I always ask for pill form. If you see that your cat is having trouble breathing or looks like it's face is swollen then you need to get it in right away to an ER vet so that they can give it a benadryl shot and monitor your cat. Don't wait if you truly think it's an allergic reaction. Watch and see how he/she is acting.
1655377 tn?1302050621 swollen mouth painful blisters vomiting headaches cant eat drink cause mouth burnsfeeling weak they gave me cephalexin
Avatar n tn )...She was pretty crazy (her normal self) for the first few days after surgery despite our best efforts to "keep her calm" and "no running, jumping etc" She has definitely slowed down in the past 2 days but isn't "acting sick" other than the vomiting. She looks at the food as if she WISHES she could eat it but doesn't eat much. Did she maybe "do too much" and is now paying for it? I've had 4 c-sections so I can kind of sympathize with her...
Avatar n tn My cat has been throwing up since this afternoon, she is quite old (and has suffered with ear problems for a long time, she went to the vet yesterday for a check up on her ear). I have never seen her throw up this much and it is worrying me that something is wrong, she just seems to be throwing up a white foam(?) liquid and can't keep any food down. She keeps trying to moisture her mouth and I can tell she is having difficulty swallowing/has a sore throat now(?
Avatar f tn Three weeks ago I adopted a young cat who's owner passed away. When I got the cat, I was told she was depressed and wasn't eating much but wasn't given much of a medical history (or her age). I didn't think much of it and assumed she would be okey with time. I have tried feeding her two brands of dry food - one which she didn't like at all and another that she ate but kept throwing up.
Avatar m tn I have a 8 year old male (neutered) indoor only cat, diagnosed last month with lymphoma (confirmed through rads and outside lab cytology). He is on 1 ml of prednisone once a day and recieving vincristine injections, once a week, for the last 3 weeks. He has had intermittent vomiting, mainly from the pred, since we switched from liquid pred to pills, the vomiting has decreased. Rads show that the tumor, in the thoraic cavity, has shrunk significantly since beginning the vincristine.
Avatar f tn my cat is an indoor outdoor cat she was fine this morning and was mainly indoors all day today. this afternoon she started to vomit(looked like her dry food) shaking and walking off balance almost as if she was drunk. she did her flea drops but on her yesterday. what should i do?
Avatar m tn They have their Masters in psychology So this is how it works with a cat. You have to wait for the behavior to happen and then encourage it if you want the cat to continue or IGNORE it if you want the cat to stop that behavior. An example--Cat wants in the bedroom at night so he tries some things to get your Reaction.
