1565420 tn?1304572548 My 17year old cat is vomiting up a lot of his food every few days..sometimes daily. I cannot tell if it's because of hairballs. Sometimes it includes hairballs, somtimes not. Does anyone know what might be wrong with him. He also sneezes a lot and has a runny nose. Worried.
Avatar f tn My 13 year old Japanese Bobtail cat has been disagnosed with Pemphegus and is being treated wtih Atopica and Triamciniolone. She's vomited several times, so we cut back on the Atopica and only used Triamciniolene. The vomiting returned, so she is only taking Atopica, after which she agaom vomited. I'm told San Ren Tang may cause the remission of Pemphegus. Please help...I adore this cat.
Avatar m tn s what it is, just a mild case of constipation. Pumpkin is very good for kitties with constipation. You can try canned in the mean time and see how it goes. Here is the thing, canned pumpkin is used as stool softener. It often helps with upset stomach or indigestion for both cats and dogs. It is very rich in fiber and adding just one or two teaspoonfuls to your pet's food often gets the system moving in no time.
Avatar f tn Vomiting in cats can be caused by many different things. Diabetes is one cause that is high on the list. Please bring him to the vet and have him checked for diabetes ASAP. Other possible causes include: inflammatory bowel disease or other digestive disorder, gastrointestinal parasites, food allergy, constipation and anal gland problems, gastrointestinal neoplasm, and others. Only a vet visit and appropriate diagnostic testing can sort this out.
1305767 tn?1361192676 My five year old cat is in heat and this morning she started vomiting every time she eats. This same thing happened about six months ago, about a week after her heat, but then she couldn't even keep down water. I took her to the vet when it happened and the X-ray showed she was constipated and her intestines were clenched up from irritation. The vet gave her a shot for nausea and instructed me to give her hairball goop for the constipation. She was fine the next day.
Avatar m tn If it starts giving your cat problems, you will notice signs of an intestinal blockage-like loss of appetite, vomiting, and constipation. But, to ease your mind, why not just take the cat to the vet for an exam and some x rays. That's probably what I would do.
Avatar f tn I have one cat that vomits everyday. When this first happened she was on dry food and the vomiting was so bad that she was losing a large amount of weight (starving to death). Took her in to the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave her some meds to take before she ate. I took the food and soaked in water to soften it up seemed to help for awhile.
Avatar f tn It also helped with her constipation, vomiting, and diarrhea. You can give it to your cat every day for three days, then every other day for a week or so, then cut back gradually to twice a week for maintenance. It is worth a try, and can't really hurt, since it is non-invasive for your kitty. It has really given my cat a lot of relief when the doctors couldn't figure out anything else to do. Good luck!
Avatar f tn My cat was coughing and breathing heavy. I took her to the Vet and after they took X-Ray I was told she has to be under medication for two weeks. I started her on Clavamox 15 ML but after couple of days I noticed she vomits after each intake. I was told by the Vet to give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait 20 minutes before giving her Clavamox. She is not eating food and I am giving her Garbor baby food (chicken and rice) along with Clavamox. I noticed she still vomits after each intake.
Avatar f tn Also, I am concerned why they are not giving her a 3D CAT scan or CAT or PET/CAT scan before chemo. The last one she had was before surgery and it did not show how much cancer was there. I would think you would want to know before chemo through the most reliable picture so that you have something to compare with in a few months. I know they are going to use the CA 125 and they will test each session of chemo to see how it is reacting.
Avatar m tn my male cat was neutered 4 days ago, every time he eats he vomits ,even water.
Avatar f tn How can I stop my cat from vomiting? She is taking Clavamox drops and was vomiting after each use. I spoke to her Vet and was told that I should give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait for 20 minutes and then give her Clavamox. She is not eating and Vet suggested to give her baby food with the Clavomox. I am doing what I was told but my cat is still vomiting.
Avatar n tn I have an 8 year old male cat who has had constipation issues for the past 1.5 year. At first (April 2008) vet just did enema and sent him home to try and give him pumpkin. Didn't work - he didn't like. Nov. 2008 he had another enema and put on lactalose. For a year he was fine till I went on a weekend trip and he didn't get his lactalose (he didn't let his sitter give it to him). When I got home there was cat poop on my bed and for a week he pooped on the floor.
Avatar f tn Sounds to me like she may need at least an xray to see if there is a blockage in her intestines----This is very serious and urgent that you let the Vet do what he needs to do . Vomiting everything she eats was what caused my cat to have exploratory surgery to see if there was a blockage---thank God there wasn't but she was a very sick little girl..
592969 tn?1248325405 Oh my gosh!! My pickiest cat, Butters, refuses any salmon flavored food. He won't even eat fresh salmon. Best thoughts for your cat. I've had my other cat, Bob, have an episode of vomiting but it cleared right up w/in a few hours and we surmised he ate a bug or something like that.
436973 tn?1217947089 How often is normal for kitties to have upset tummies? My cat seems to vomit a few of times a month. Often twice in a day then she'll be fine for a couple of weeks and then again twice in a day. She doesn't ever act like she doesn't feel well. Just throws up and is done with it. It is not hairbally at all. Shoould I be worried?
Avatar n tn A few years ago I had a bowel blockage and was hospitalized for 4 days but no surgery. Since then I have had a lot of trouble with constipation. I also have a lot of flem in my throat and have been told by an ent that it was acid reflux. Could the constipation and the acid reflux be related to a bowel blockage?
Avatar n tn If the obstruction is not relieved in the next couple of days, then the rupture is a real possibility. First, the cat will stop eating and drinking, then you will see vomiting, and then your cat will develop a very high fever. The high fever will tell you that the colon has ruptured and caused an infection. If you don't believe any of this, do the research and you will find that this info is correct. This condition has gone too far for you to even attempt to treat this at home.
Avatar f tn my cat suffers from a sever constipation for almost 2 weeks now. I tried every thing to cure him: laxative, enema, and even castor oil. also, my cat is always hungry, but he can't eat very well.I think that his colon will blow up. By the way. my cat is recovering from an injury in his hips. he can't control his urine also. please I need an answer as soon as possible.
Avatar n tn Having never personally given a cat a barium enema, I just don't know about what you do or don't see in it (something I hope to never change!!!) :). As far as diet, is kitty eating lots of dry, and little or no wet? A healthy cat will develop these problems do to insufficient water intake, and cats got almost 90% of their liquid intake from food. So I'd advise pulling kitty off the dry, and trying to stick to wet food. You may have to experiment with brand flavor.
