Uroxatral use in women

Common Questions and Answers about Uroxatral use in women

uroxatral

Avatar f tn A problem is, testosterone varies a whole lot in both men and women, by the day, hour, week, etc. and even more in women than men, so the only true way to know if you had abnormally low levels would have been to test you a lot, not just twice. You did have the same levels twice, so it might be a problem. A question would be, how's your sexual desire? How's your stamina? How's your ability to build muscle? How's your energy levels?
Avatar m tn I have had an ultrasound of the prostate which checked out fine and have been tested for chlamydia and gonorhea, which both came back negative. I am currently taking uroxatral and avodart daily, and am curious as to why I am still having symptoms. Is it possible of being overmedicated? Or is there something that has been missed? If so what other possibilities are there?
Avatar f tn Just had a biopsy--awaiting results but, in the interim: enlarged prostate regardless of biopsy outcome. Flomax does not seem to be making an improvement in frequency of urination--does this have an indication that cancer is more likely? In other words, if nodule were benign would the Flomax be likely to work better? Does progressive increase in frequency indicate a higher chance of cancer?
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, there is a group of patients with chronic nonbacterial prostatitis-chronic pelvic pain symdrome. There patients have no bacteria in the prostate but have pain, often in the area between the testicles and rectum, plus the pain with ejaculation and sometines urinating symptoms. We don't know what triggers this problem and there is no cure. Uroxatral is an excellent option and you have gotten at least a partial response-- good.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing retrograde ejaculation from taking Flomax and Uroxatral for several years. Will normal ejaculation return if I stop the medication? How long will it take?

Avatar f tn 1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. (2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. (3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
Avatar n tn Difference b/w methadone and other opiates is that on a stable dose (which differs for everyone), a pregnant woman (or any individual) is able to go 24 to 36 hours without having ANY physical withdrawals whereas with heroin and other opiates, the half-life is 4 to 6 hours so the individual experiences withdrawals unless they continuously use.
Avatar n tn Now that your bladder has recompensated, you might actually be able to empty using an alpha blocker such as Uroxatral or Flomax, but I would not recommend doing that in the long term as you are skating on the edge of decompensating again. I would recommend that you have a prostatectomy and then be followed for adequacy of emptying and urinary tract infections.
Avatar m tn s office that turned up no answers. I was given Uroxatral to try but have seen no difference in almost three weeks. I've also started to take saw palmetto about two weeks ago but still nothing. I just can't feel relieved after I go to the bathroom. I always feel like I have to urinate. My bladder empties fine, according to uroflow tests but my stream is that of a man in his 80's not a man like me who will be 25 in December.
Avatar n tn I can't use Flomax or other alpha blockers due to side effects -- disturbed sleep. Uroxatral even caused me to sleepwalk 15 feet from a nap on the sofa one evening, waking when I fell flat on my face in the next room! Separately, due to a Vitamin D deficiency my doc found, he put me on 50,000 units Vitamin D per week for 8 weeks, followed by biweekly doses. And guess what...the Vitamin D almost instantly "cured" the BPH.
Avatar n tn make sure you use a water based lubercant, and lots of foreplay before to get her "loosened" up
Avatar f tn Sometimes women need to have the size of the pessary adjusted after long term use (typically to a smaller pessary) but that is after a few years of use. Biggest concern is irritation causing ulcers but this does not occur in all women. If you are on estrogen replacement therapy, it will help the internal and external tissues maintain strong, pliable integrity. If you have difficulty with vaginal irritation you should ask your physician about vaginal estrogen therapy.
Avatar m tn Why do women who are in a solid, fulfilling relationship with husband/boyfriend continue to masturbate, in the privacy of their own home anyway, while watching certain male movie stars?
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I would like to ask whether the use of Raglan in pregnancy due to the morning sickness can have negative effect for the baby? Because I am throwing out everything I can't eat, I even couldn't drink and was in hospital last week, and the doctor said I have to take Raglan. I take the medicine now and I feel better but I'm worried for the baby.
Avatar m tn Dear Dr. Hook, Thanks for your reply. My current symptoms are prostrate pain (can't sit comfortably at all due to burning and swelling), urethra/testicular pain after ejaculation and urination difficulties (still on uroxatral). I'm 38 and was in excellent health prior to the STD exposure (female worker). All antiobiotics have seemed to help in one way or another but when I done with them then the pain comes back full force and the urination issues intensify.
Avatar m tn My symptoms are delayed urination at the tip of the penis, spraying of urine at the very end of urination everytime, urinary leakage, weak urine stream, urinary frequency with no urgency, sometimes stopping and starting of urination with occasional splitting, no pain at all during urination only afterwards and it feels like at the base of the penis it is narrowed because when I go to void it has that feeling of tightness and pressure all the way through the stream.
Avatar n tn Blood in semen or hematospermia can be due to several causes like benign or malignant tumors of the prostate, bladder, testes, or seminal vesicles, infections like chlamydia, herpes, cytomegalovirus, and trichomoniasis, prostatitis, epididymitis, or urethritis, stone in the seminal vesicles or prostate, polyps in the urethra, obstructions in ejaculation-duct, and cancers of genitourinary system. Get a culture sensitivity test for both semen and urine done.
