I have had an ultrasound of the prostate which checked out fine and have been tested for chlamydia and gonorhea, which both came back negative. I am currently taking uroxatral and avodart daily, and am curious as to why I am still having symptoms. Is it possible of being overmedicated? Or is there something that has been missed? If so what other possibilities are there?

t know what triggers this problem and there is no cure. Uroxatral is an excellent option and you have gotten at least a partial response-- good. There is no risk of cancer or other serious impairment or long term damage to your pelvic organs. Symptomatic relief with Uroxatral, and possibly antiinflammatory agents give many men some relief.

I was exposed to an STD 6 months ago and developed urethritis/epididymitis at first and then developed prostatitis. All std tests and urinalysis have come back negative and I've tried the following antibiotics/therapy:

GP - all std tests came back negative and urine was "clear" of bacteria. No abnormal WBC or RBC's.
Diagnosed with epididymitis and urethritis – clear discharge and testicular pain (unilateral pain on left testicle).
I am 58 yrs old, have BPH and had not taken medicine for the condition, as symptoms were not that bad. While in S. America in November, I had pain which was thought to be from kidney stones. I was given scopolamine. The doctor didn't ask about BPH and I didn't know that the med had side effects related to prostate. It became hard to urinate any more than small quantities at a time. I began retaining fluids, something that was determined after I returned home to US.
I'm not sure if I have this in the correct category. I am a 24 year old male who is not overweight, works out five days a week, and generally eats healthy. I don't smoke or use drugs. I do drink on occasion. I constantly find myself going to the bathroom to urinate. When I finishing urinating, I nearly immediately feel the urge to go again. I have been to the doctor but nothing came up. I was tested for infection and an STD (I've not been sexually active in four months). Any ideas?
I'm a 25 year old female and have been suffering with constipation for as long as I can remember and have just been coping with it. But recently I've been having pains in my lower left side of my stomach and have been using the loo once or (twice a week if lucky) and when I go it's not a substantial amount and I'm always left feeling shaken and sick.
It's not the thyroxine that causes the constipation, it's being hypothyroid. I struggled with constipation of and on for years (I believe I went back and forth between hyper and hypo); and now that I've got my thyroid levels close to where I need them, I find that I no longer have to have the "daily help" using the bathroom. I also take a daily enzyme which helps break down food better.

At what week is it recommended to get an ultrasound so I make sure everything is normal? Also what Can I take for constipation that is safe I feel so bloated. Ugh. And Safe teas? I drink mint tea....gave up on coffee. Hard.
Im 30 weeks now with my second and have both constipation and hemorrhoids at the same time im in agony. Is there anything I can do to ease this while I wait for my doctor appointment.
I'm in the same boat but I'm 37 weeks and 4 days! I haven't had a bowel movement in a very long time and I'm so uncomfortable!! I'm 2 and a half cm dialated and 40% effaced so I'm feeling your pain!!
Can the mirena be the cause of my constipation and bloating? I have read that progesterone slows the perilstatis of the intestine causing constipation?
I decided to have colonic irrigation and this just stirred things up far worse, to the point of excruciating pain and a visit to Emergency! Eating anything can irritate my stomach and blow it up to at least 4mths preg looking! Lots of pain and even after taking the entire preparation used for people having colonoscopies, I have had little relief. My xray showed a large volume of faeces throughout my entire colon.
