Common Questions and Answers about Tooth implant dangers

Avatar f tn A cone beam ct scan revealed an inflammatory process in the sinus above the implant and apical periodontal inflammation on the tooth behind the implant which was also giving me night fevers. I have since had the root canal retreated on the tooth that was being blamed for my mouth discomfort.
Avatar n tn My dentist has said that if it falls out again (which it has) I will have to have a crown which will involve damaging my number 9 tooth, or I could have an implant which unfortunately is not an option on the NHS. I am saving up for an implant. But, in the mean time, I was thinking of buying some Glass Ionomer Cement and fixing it every time it comes out. Could someone please explain to me any dangers that may be involved in doing this.
Avatar n tn p 1937. if your tooth was cracked, and the crack extends into the flooor of the tooth, the tooth may need to be extracted. It is possible that the root canal ws done perfectly well, but did not work in eliminating pain due to a fracture. ask the endodntist about this possibility. I doubt your case has anything o o w allergies.
Avatar f tn I just need to find a dentist who I don't have to fight with to actually do it. Then I need to get an implant as the tooth location is very visible when I smile. It's going to be costly but I feel like I don't have a choice at this point.
Avatar n tn I had a tooth implant done Jan 2006. May 2007 I was hospitalized with symptoms of numbing tingleing of arms and legs, feet and the sides of my face. When standing, after laying down or sitting down I would feel lots of pressure like my feet were swollen. I felt fatigue and no energy. I even had a urn/track infection. I was in the hospital for 7 days running 150 blood test. They came up empty. It could of been stress... so they say. March 2008 after living with all of these symptoms...
Avatar n tn The 75 seemed good and after cutting to 1 a day one weekend, she decided to stop as her tooth and jaw pain had subsided. From the first taking the vic she could feel the effects of the vic wearing off, and wanting to take more, but we thought it was all pain related.
Avatar f tn I didn't have insurance and couldn't go to the dentist. I have a temporary root canal done since 2004 that now has a big abcess in the hole of my tooth that ruptures. I have this rash on the bottom of my feet since 2004 that I was treating like athletes feet but comes and goes with watery like small boils that itch so bad that I scratch my feet until it bleeds. I have to constantly soak and give myself pedicures but it only lasts for a minute and back to white bottom scaly feet.
Avatar n tn The fact is, like most methods of hormonal / implant contraception, the frequency of side effects is unknown. We all know that only a minute fraction of users report them. And the long term efects are only just emerging. The first guinea pigs / lab rats - for want of a better term - are only now reaching old age. Its a lose lose situation. Continued repeated pregnancy or grin and bear it. No one's good experience can invalidate someone else's genuine bad experience.

Avatar n tn Since stopping I have had various withdrawal symptoms - constipation giving way to the runs, anxiety, sleepless nights have returned, disinterest/lack of motivation. I feel that these tablets should carry clearer warnings about the dangers of long term use / overuse. Being a cynical sod it may well be that profit will dictate. In Britain alone I have a feeling that addiction to painkillers like N+ is a much bigger problem than any of us are aware of !!!
Avatar n tn I am definitely going to crawl back to bed from now on, because the bangs to the head are bad, but if I knock a tooth out, like somebody mentioned -- Can you imagine, wake up from the pain and delerium with a missing tooth? I am 40. Very in tune with my body, exercise and take vitamins and I am otherwise healthy, but I am starting to worry about the severity of the episodes.
