Common Questions and Answers about Tobradex pink eye

tobradex

Avatar f tn Only someone that has examined your eyes can tell you how it should be used. It's important to know that "bacterial keratitis" is a potentially serious problem that can lead to permanent eye damage.
Avatar m tn Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny. The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry. Could this be the dryness that's making my eyes veiny? I've made an appointment to see the optometrist again, but it's not till another two weeks. I would like to have some sort of idea (and perhaps remedies I can do now).
Avatar n tn I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days. The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light. I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex. My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Tobradex after the optician couldn't figure out why my eye was showing symptoms of a blocked tear duct with the test coming back negative. I did 4 drops a day for a week. I've been off the drops for 6 days now and my vision has gotten substantially worse without improvement. I'm worried that it won't clear up. I can't drive and can barely concentrate at work.
Avatar n tn I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever. Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
Avatar n tn Why are you on Tobradex if everything looked normal? Perhaps you have a problem with the eyelid like a sty or chalazion. If optometrist doesn't know what you have, it would be in your best interest to see an ophthalmologist. YES to last question.
Avatar m tn I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something. What can be done for this?
Avatar f tn I decide to make an emergency appointment with the first doctor I saw. She examines my eye and tells me to go back on the Tobradex and follow the same regimen as before. Again, it works. I go back to follow up and she tells me my eye looks normal again, but the top tear duct looks a little narrowed. She thinks this is all allergies and that I should see an Allergist.

Avatar n tn My 93 yr. old mom was given Tobradex for an eye infection and has not been the same since. She had no med. hist. other than moderate dementia. Avatar m tn One morning when I woke up, I realized my left eye was full of **** and become pink eye. The next day, I went to see ophthalmologist and he said I got conjunctivitis. He prescribed an ointment called oftalmolosa cusi de icol. When the first two days started treatment, my mom helped me apply ointment. My left eye non-stop dropped tears and then I use tissue to wipe from time to time. On the third day, I applied ointment myself. I realized my right eye started to become pink eye.

Avatar f tn Hi, I was losing my eye sight about 2 weeks ago. It just came out of the blue. I had lens inplants in 2004. Been doing just fine. Until 2 weeks ago. My eye Dr. / surgeon diagnosed as me as possible glaucoma. The pressure in my eyes was 24.5 . He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open.
Avatar m tn By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse. Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.
Avatar n tn On day 6, pressure was good according to my doc but today on day 13, pressure had gone above 30. My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure.
Avatar f tn I have an asymptomatic conjunctival cyst on my right eye, lateral part and far from the cornea.. I would like to ask if its still safe to wear contact lens since the edge of the lens wont be touching the cyst anyway?

Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.

Avatar m tn Every so often I get very swollen upper and lower eyelids and my eye goes bright red. It is always the left eye. I have had one opthamologist treat me for Herpes Keratitis while another for chronic blepharitis (I do have seborrhheic dermatitis). What can I do to head off these attacks? I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
Avatar f tn City) and my local eye dr. Have tried Tobradex, Vigamox, Alrex, Pataday, oral doxycycline. Still no help, right now with sinusitus, I'm worse than ever, now they want me to see a neurologist. I guess I've about exhausted everyone else. I have discontinued by contact lens use for the last 4 mos. I have had glaucoma for 16 years. Please let me know your status or anything you've found helpful, I would appreciate!! Best of luck to you!
755712 tn?1233788474 I had Viral Pink eye in both eyes at the end of October (3 1/2 months ago). My eyes were bright red and hurt to open and shut. Additionally I was having a hard time opening my eyes in well lit areas (i.e. outside, under bright classroom lights, etc.). Also, my Doctor said both eyes were developing new blood vessels because I was not getting enough oxygen in my eyes. I took Tobradex (?...I think that was what it was...some sort of steroid)...
Avatar m tn I have a 6 month old who has upper eyelid eczema that is on top of angel kisses on one eye. The pediatrician said to just put aquaphor on it. It is not improving and he rubs it all of the time. I am a physician and was wondering if I should prescribe a steroid like tobradex or maxitrol for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn The inner and outer corners of my right eye were really red. My ophthalmologist diagnosed me with viral eye infection and prescribed me TOBRADEX. I used TOBRADEX 3 times a day for the first two days, then 1 time a day for another 3 or 4 days, and then stopped. Week of 3/31/14: My right eye became red and swollen. I went to see a new ophthalmologist and was told that I just had to wait for my body to fight the virus. No medicine was prescribed.
