Tobradex eye drop dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Tobradex eye drop dosage

tobradex

Avatar f tn Only someone that has examined your eyes can tell you how it should be used. It's important to know that "bacterial keratitis" is a potentially serious problem that can lead to permanent eye damage.
Avatar m tn He gave me Alphagan 2 drops a day to control the IOP and asked me to take the topradex 4 times a day for 1 week (one drop each time), then gradually reduce the dosage by one drop every week. By the end of the 4th week I started to have blurred vision & went to see the doctor.
Avatar n tn There is not a eye drop made or a drug prescribed that somewhere in the list of possible side effects mentions blurred vision. You need to return as soon as possible to see an EYe MD ophthalmologist. It may be that you did not have an infected eye (conjunctivitis) but rather an evolving iritis (also called uveitis) which can cause all those symptoms. In any case have eyes examined ASAP by an EYE MD.
Avatar m tn I went to my Optometrist the next morning and he found 3 lesions in my RT eye ... LT eye was ok (for now). He prescribed Tobradex 1 drop 4 times per day but seemed very concerned ..... Help .... what is going on in my system ... why the lesions and the blurry vision ?? Will this happen to my other eye ?? Why is this happening to my eye ... Help !!!
Avatar m tn i think tobradex cream is not a good medicion ...
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Tobradex after the optician couldn't figure out why my eye was showing symptoms of a blocked tear duct with the test coming back negative. I did 4 drops a day for a week. I've been off the drops for 6 days now and my vision has gotten substantially worse without improvement. I'm worried that it won't clear up. I can't drive and can barely concentrate at work.
Avatar f tn EKC and herpetic eye disease don't look alike and should not be confused.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC 2 months ago and I've been using Tobradex for two months. My Opthamologist says my lids look better, but there is still some allergen there. He told me that I need to stop taking the Tobradex because apparently it's not good to take it for a long period of time. I've stopped taking it and my eyes are back to feeling awful. They didn't feel 100% back to normal on the Tobradex, but it helped!
Avatar n tn Why are you on Tobradex if everything looked normal? Perhaps you have a problem with the eyelid like a sty or chalazion. If optometrist doesn't know what you have, it would be in your best interest to see an ophthalmologist. YES to last question.
Avatar n tn Tobradex ointment will have basically the same effect on IOP as Tobradex drop. I might have other suggestions if I had more info about your case.
Avatar m tn I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something. What can be done for this?

I have my follow up tomorrow and I'm hoping they can give me good news.
Avatar m tn When the opthomologist saw me next, he didn’t do anything with my eyes but shine light in them again to take a look where all he said was that my eyes were healthy and I have a bit of conjunctivitis from allergies probably, so he prescribed me Tobradex eye drops to take one drop in each eye, two times a day, for 5 days. After receiving the eye drops I did some research on them so I knew what I was getting into. Everything I read about Tobradex eye drops made my anxiety worse.
Avatar f tn I decide to make an emergency appointment with the first doctor I saw. She examines my eye and tells me to go back on the Tobradex and follow the same regimen as before. Again, it works. I go back to follow up and she tells me my eye looks normal again, but the top tear duct looks a little narrowed. She thinks this is all allergies and that I should see an Allergist.
Avatar n tn I had eye surgery a month ago on 7/24/09. My doctor(opthamologist) pescibed tobradex to be used 4X daily. I put these eye drops in as directd. I have been using them now for a month. How long do I have to use this medicine? I am also using a tobradex ointment at bedtime. Can you plesae let me know? Frank.
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days.
Avatar n tn Likewise, I was given eye drops (TobraDex) after the floxin ear drops failed to clear up a resistant infection. I don't think it will hurt you, but mine burned a bit when I first put them in. My ENT said the eye drops have a steroid, so they it is more aggressive at killing infections. Anyways, after 3 weeks of the eye drops....even the eye drops hasn't fully killed the infection, so I guess I have a particularly nasty strain.
1594138 tn?1297213559 So the doctor now thinks he should have allergy tests done and is basically at a loss. He is on Tobradex eye drops. He was told to use those drops just when it got really bad. Any ideas? It is really frustrating and this has been going on for about 3 months. He is also doing the compresses 2 x a day & was also given pre- moistured eyelid cleansers. Could it be a sensitivity to paraben? If so, what is recommended for that? What shampoo, soap, moisturizer, shaving cream etc...
Avatar n tn My 93 yr. old mom was given Tobradex for an eye infection and has not been the same since. She had no med. hist. other than moderate dementia. After the 1st dose of tobradex, she became difficult to arrouse and because of this, slightly dehydrated. She also had immediate increased difficulty in swallowing. Approx. 3 weeks after dc of ointment, she was in the hospital due to build up of upper resp. fluid.
Avatar n tn I am an adult and used Tobradex for an eye infection. I had adverse reactions to it and it made me sick. Ask you doctor about side effects because an infant is so small.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was losing my eye sight about 2 weeks ago. It just came out of the blue. I had lens inplants in 2004. Been doing just fine. Until 2 weeks ago. My eye Dr. / surgeon diagnosed as me as possible glaucoma. The pressure in my eyes was 24.5 . He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open.
Avatar m tn By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse. Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.
Avatar m tn Get a second opinion from an Eye MD that specializes in external eye disease/corena.
Avatar n tn On day 6, pressure was good according to my doc but today on day 13, pressure had gone above 30. My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure.
Avatar n tn For two months now, I've been being treated for an eye infection (both eyes). It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
Avatar f tn I have an asymptomatic conjunctival cyst on my right eye, lateral part and far from the cornea.. I would like to ask if its still safe to wear contact lens since the edge of the lens wont be touching the cyst anyway?
