For two months now, I've been being treated for an eye infection (both eyes). It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.

I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.
Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny.
The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry. Could this be the dryness that's making my eyes veiny?
I've made an appointment to see the optometrist again, but it's not till another two weeks. I would like to have some sort of idea (and perhaps remedies I can do now).
I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days.
The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye
Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light.
I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex.
My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
I was prescribed Tobradex after the optician couldn't figure out why my eye was showing symptoms of a blocked tear duct with the test coming back negative. I did 4 drops a day for a week. I've been off the drops for 6 days now and my vision has gotten substantially worse without improvement. I'm worried that it won't clear up. I can't drive and can barely concentrate at work.
I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever.
Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
I've been to two optometrists for eye pain and eyelid swelling. I was told that the eye itself looked very good...no infection/abrasions noted. I was put on Tobradex drops for pain management. I have not noticed any improvement with my eye since using the drops. I'm wanting to know if I should be seen by an opthamologist. Does an opthamologist treat problems associated with the eyelids/muscles when the eye appears to be healthy?
I went to my Eye MD. Today and e said that the Alcon Acrysof IQ Toric Iol for Astigmatism would be a good choice for me sence I have 1.25 Astigmatism in my right eye. I had the Crystalens HD 500 put in my left eye two years agao but I have 1.25 Astigmatism in my left eye also and I need eather LRI or Laisk done and I would need glasses any way to read so why spened the money if it don't work.
I am a young guy but have had dry eye for several years. I have punctal plugs on my lower eye ducts. About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much?

My 93 yr. old mom was given Tobradex for an eye infection and has not been the same since. She had no med. hist. other than moderate dementia. After the 1st dose of tobradex, she became difficult to arrouse and because of this, slightly dehydrated. She also had immediate increased difficulty in swallowing. Approx. 3 weeks after dc of ointment, she was in the hospital due to build up of upper resp. fluid.

He prescribed an ointment called oftalmolosa cusi de icol. When the first two days started treatment, my mom helped me apply ointment. Hi, Thank You for answering me. He never said anything about infection in my eyes. But my friend has noticed my top eyelids on both eyes are purplish/red & swollen. She says it reminds her of when someone has cried really hard for a long peiod ( like a lose of someone u love) I was also using Systane Ultra I got more today. It doesn't doesnt seem to burn like the others. Can you please tell me what the eye pressure is suppose to be. My Dr.
By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse.
Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.
On day 6, pressure was good according to my doc but today on day 13, pressure had gone above 30. My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure.
I had an eye exam with my optometrist the following Thursday (4/26) where they took my eye pressure, did a basic eye exam for prescription glasses, and dilated my eyes to take a look inside. My optometrist said my eyes looked healthy and that my right eyes prescription needed to be stronger while my left eye’s needed to be weaker. Hi, I have lower lid problem since January 2009. Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again.
Hagen - thank you - I will see someone else - should they be experienced with Alcon and how they fit in the eye? Is it possible that the vessel rupture is the result of whatever is causing so much ongoing discomfort? Is there anything you can think of that could cause this? It is not just when focusing -it always stings/burns in the upper right area of my eye and almost always feels like something is in my bottom lid .
It is always the left eye. I have had one opthamologist treat me for Herpes Keratitis while another for chronic blepharitis (I do have seborrhheic dermatitis). What can I do to head off these attacks? I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye.

I told my eye doctor that I could feel a little bump under my left upper eyelid, she tried to feel for it and looked but didn't see anything. This left eye is the culprit of all the trouble. All the itching and infections start in that eye. Although, this bump doesnn't hurt, I can still feel it there. It has got smaller in the past few weeks. I think it is something up there crfeating all of this. How do I get my eye doctors to take a good look at this.
I have an asymptomatic conjunctival cyst on my right eye, lateral part and far from the cornea.. I would like to ask if its still safe to wear contact lens since the edge of the lens wont be touching the cyst anyway?
Right now im taking TOBRAdex, and Hialid, way back dec2011, i had a sore eyes, then i used a MAxritol without consulting a doctor, then my eyes got irritated, then i went to CEBU Dr,Larrazabal,then he gave me hialid & frulon,, then after 5mnths it was okey.. on the last week of August 2012,i felt sometimes a blurred vision, then, i consult again to Dra. Aquiatana herein our PLACE..
