I was prescribed Tobradex after the optician couldn't figure out why my eye was showing symptoms of a blocked tear duct with the test coming back negative. I did 4 drops a day for a week. I've been off the drops for 6 days now and my vision has gotten substantially worse without improvement. I'm worried that it won't clear up. I can't drive and can barely concentrate at work.
m constantly calling out of work on the days I wake up to an eye that looks VERY infected. I use Tobradex again on my own at this point. 3x a day. A week after going on like this I wake up to an eye that is COMPLETELY CLOSED. Oh my gosh, I FREAK OUT and make an appointment with the Ophthalmologist I went to before. He tells me this is a normal reaction to using Tobradex for a long time. He prescribed me Vigomox and Keflex tablets. It takes a week for my eye to go back to "normal" i.
I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever.
Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny.
The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry. Could this be the dryness that's making my eyes veiny?
I've made an appointment to see the optometrist again, but it's not till another two weeks. I would like to have some sort of idea (and perhaps remedies I can do now).
I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days.
The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye
Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light.
I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex.
My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?

i was thinking tobradex to heal in case the grit scratched the eye, and to protect against the other person's spit. would using that be harmful?
what drop would u suggest for those 2 situations?
since i have an auto-immune disorder, would taking valacyclovir help prevent transmission from another person?
One morning when I woke up, I realized my left eye was full of **** and become pink eye. The next day, I went to see ophthalmologist and he said I got conjunctivitis. He prescribed an ointment called oftalmolosa cusi de icol. When the first two days started treatment, my mom helped me apply ointment. My left eye non-stop dropped tears and then I use tissue to wipe from time to time. On the third day, I applied ointment myself. I realized my right eye started to become pink eye.
Hi, Thank You for answering me. He never said anything about infection in my eyes. But my friend has noticed my top eyelids on both eyes are purplish/red & swollen. She says it reminds her of when someone has cried really hard for a long peiod ( like a lose of someone u love) I was also using Systane Ultra I got more today. It doesn't doesnt seem to burn like the others. Can you please tell me what the eye pressure is suppose to be. My Dr.
1. Do not use medication. Wait for the eye to cure on its own, although it will take a long time. 2. Use steroid, but it takes even longer for the problem to be over. I chose not to use any medication.
Week of 4/14/14: Monday, I changed my ophthalmologist again. I went to see a cornea specialist at Weill Cornell ophthalmology. My doctor detected pseudomembrane and removed it. He also told me that I have a lot of corneal infiltrates and I must use Pred Forte eye drop.
I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something. What can be done for this?

Only a physician Eye MD that examines you and treats you can make the call but often at this point I stop azasite which can cause a rash, stop tobradex as the tobramycin in it can cause a rase and use just warm compresses, lid scrubs such as occusoft foam eyelid cleaner and a steroid like lotemax for a couple of weeks to get things under control.
Hi, I have lower lid problem since January 2009. Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again.
i had a cataract surgery month ago, but still it doesnt look like its healing well., i noticed a redness of my eye,. it looks to me that its like bleeding from the stitch...my surgeon gave me tobradex., well it does work....it's does stop the bleeding/redness, but when i stop using it. it comes back again!!!....i really dont know whats happening, plese help!!.......
I was diagnosed with GPC 2 months ago and I've been using Tobradex for two months. My Opthamologist says my lids look better, but there is still some allergen there. He told me that I need to stop taking the Tobradex because apparently it's not good to take it for a long period of time. I've stopped taking it and my eyes are back to feeling awful. They didn't feel 100% back to normal on the Tobradex, but it helped!

Thank you very much once again Doctor.Up until now I haven't even really needed artificial tears but I know I will need that and more so I tried to find out about Restasis which is cyclosporine 0.05% suspension ( eye drops) but it seems it hasn't been approved in Europe. Cyclosporine is only available for oral intake for other purposes...
Around 5pm, of the same day, I noticed that my eye was blurry, especially for reading (I have glasses for distance but can normally read close up). I went to my Optometrist the next morning and he found 3 lesions in my RT eye ... LT eye was ok (for now). He prescribed Tobradex 1 drop 4 times per day but seemed very concerned ..... Help .... what is going on in my system ... why the lesions and the blurry vision ?? Will this happen to my other eye ?? Why is this happening to my eye ... Help !!!
