Tobradex and pink eye

Common Questions and Answers about Tobradex and pink eye

tobradex

Avatar f tn Hello, I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.
Avatar m tn Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny. The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry. Could this be the dryness that's making my eyes veiny? I've made an appointment to see the optometrist again, but it's not till another two weeks. I would like to have some sort of idea (and perhaps remedies I can do now).
Avatar n tn I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days. The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light. I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex. My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
Avatar f tn ve felt sinus pressure for the last month every now and then and especially these last few days after stopping the Tobradex. The pressure seems worse now and is stretching across my entire forehead and no longer just around my eye. - Prior to seeing the optican, I saw my primary physician twice. The first time, a scratch was found on the same eye and I was given Ciprofloxacin for a week. The scratch healed and the watery eye came back.
Avatar n tn I am an adult and used Tobradex for an eye infection. I had adverse reactions to it and it made me sick. Ask you doctor about side effects because an infant is so small.
Avatar n tn I've been to two optometrists for eye pain and eyelid swelling. I was told that the eye itself looked very good...no infection/abrasions noted. I was put on Tobradex drops for pain management. I have not noticed any improvement with my eye since using the drops. I'm wanting to know if I should be seen by an opthamologist. Does an opthamologist treat problems associated with the eyelids/muscles when the eye appears to be healthy?
Avatar m tn I am a young guy but have had dry eye for several years. I have punctal plugs on my lower eye ducts. About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much?
Avatar f tn I decide to make an emergency appointment with the first doctor I saw. She examines my eye and tells me to go back on the Tobradex and follow the same regimen as before. Again, it works. I go back to follow up and she tells me my eye looks normal again, but the top tear duct looks a little narrowed. She thinks this is all allergies and that I should see an Allergist.
Avatar m tn After developing a mild eye infection as diagnosed by my optician (small clear "bubbles" that came and went on my eyelid where eye liner is applied, painful, scratchy eyes), he prescribed generic Tobradex drops which I used QID x 7D.
Avatar n tn I had eye surgery a month ago on 7/24/09. My doctor(opthamologist) pescibed tobradex to be used 4X daily. I put these eye drops in as directd. I have been using them now for a month. Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar n tn i took care of an elderly male patient on admission his main complain was his legs and his left eye had minimal whitish discharge and by the 3rd day his eyeball was reddish and he seemed like he was crying beacause he usually had tears on his eye corners he was seen by an opthalmologist and was treated tobramycin eye drops and cyclogel however after a week when i saw him again his eyes was slowly melting, he had corneal abrasion and vitreous hemorrhage, and after 3 days his eyes was totally
Avatar m tn I went to my Optometrist the next morning and he found 3 lesions in my RT eye ... LT eye was ok (for now). He prescribed Tobradex 1 drop 4 times per day but seemed very concerned ..... Help .... what is going on in my system ... why the lesions and the blurry vision ?? Will this happen to my other eye ?? Why is this happening to my eye ... Help !!!
Avatar m tn One morning when I woke up, I realized my left eye was full of **** and become pink eye. The next day, I went to see ophthalmologist and he said I got conjunctivitis. He prescribed an ointment called oftalmolosa cusi de icol. When the first two days started treatment, my mom helped me apply ointment. My left eye non-stop dropped tears and then I use tissue to wipe from time to time. On the third day, I applied ointment myself. I realized my right eye started to become pink eye.
Avatar m tn i think tobradex cream is not a good medicion ...
Avatar f tn Your doctor would not have started you on tobradex (a steroid and antibiotic) and Timolol, a glaucoma drug. There must have been something else wrong such as inflammation or infection---the Tobradex would in most cases cover both problems. However, the steroid can also elevate your eye pressure. Dr. O.
Avatar n tn My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
Avatar m tn By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse. Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.
Avatar n tn My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure. Can a kind ophthalmologist assure me this is alright? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have an asymptomatic conjunctival cyst on my right eye, lateral part and far from the cornea.. I would like to ask if its still safe to wear contact lens since the edge of the lens wont be touching the cyst anyway?
Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.

Avatar m tn Every so often I get very swollen upper and lower eyelids and my eye goes bright red. It is always the left eye. I have had one opthamologist treat me for Herpes Keratitis while another for chronic blepharitis (I do have seborrhheic dermatitis). What can I do to head off these attacks? I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
Avatar f tn What could possibly be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this? If your a eye doctor and reading this, what would you suggest. I'm really tired of the "Go back to your eye doctor...I've been to two doctors and it's a "Your eyes are fine...see you in six months". These are my eyes that I'm worried about and I feel I need to be listened to and to be taken better care of.
755712 tn?1233788474 I went in to visit my eye doctor about 4 times during the time I had pink eye because he wanted to make sure that the treatment was effective and I got my eyesight evaluated so I could get new glasses and contacts. The last time I went to the eye doctor I was wearing my contacts. He said that I would need to lay off the contacts for possibly up to three months before my eyes were back to normal.
Avatar m tn It is not improving and he rubs it all of the time. I am a physician and was wondering if I should prescribe a steroid like tobradex or maxitrol for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
