tobradex

Avatar n tn Tobradex is known to cause problems in the eye, and I am one of those affected by it. Here's a debunking of your claim http://www.rxlist.com/script/main/mobileart-rx.asp?drug=tobradex&monotype=rx-desc&monopage=0 http://www.drugs.com/tobradex.
Avatar m tn During my treatment(s) I never had my pressure checked by the emergency room doctors but did when I visited the two optometrists about two years ago but the last couple of times I was prescribed Tobradex was by emergency room doctors and my pressure wasn't checked. I haven't seen an optometrist since (I know, I need a check up after two years) but I'm deathly afraid of Glaucoma and being diagnosed with it and as a consequence loosing my drivers license, etc. leaving me unemployed.
Avatar n tn I was told that the eye itself looked very good...no infection/abrasions noted. I was put on Tobradex drops for pain management. I have not noticed any improvement with my eye since using the drops. I'm wanting to know if I should be seen by an opthamologist. Does an opthamologist treat problems associated with the eyelids/muscles when the eye appears to be healthy?
Avatar f tn The tobradex is completely out of your system after 6 days. But your symptoms are very disturbing. I would return for another exam or seek a second opinion with another ophthalmologist.
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar n tn Hi doctor, About a year and a half ago an opthalmologist ended my 10 year span of using naphazoline hydrocholoride which had been prescribed by my gen physician. He put me on flax seed oil, allegra, restasis, sterilid and qtips, moisturizing eyedrops and tobradex. At one point he did tell me to slow down on the tobradex but I couldn't handle having such bloodshot eyes so he's allowed me to continue usage for the past year and a half while monitoring my IOP levels.
Avatar n tn i took care of an elderly male patient on admission his main complain was his legs and his left eye had minimal whitish discharge and by the 3rd day his eyeball was reddish and he seemed like he was crying beacause he usually had tears on his eye corners he was seen by an opthalmologist and was treated tobramycin eye drops and cyclogel however after a week when i saw him again his eyes was slowly melting, he had corneal abrasion and vitreous hemorrhage, and after 3 days his eyes was totally
Avatar n tn I had eye surgery a month ago on 7/24/09. My doctor(opthamologist) pescibed tobradex to be used 4X daily. I put these eye drops in as directd. I have been using them now for a month. How long do I have to use this medicine? I am also using a tobradex ointment at bedtime. Can you plesae let me know? Frank.
Avatar m tn By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse. Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.

Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.
Avatar f tn I have been noticeing small clear bubbles forming on the inside of my lowere eyelid . I have several of them , i had some tobradex drops and used them but nothing is makeing them go away , has anyone had this problem ???
Avatar m tn I thing its highly unlikely you need be concerned and don't suggest using tobradex. Just rinse your face with water. You can also rinse your eye out with artificial tears.
Avatar n tn Would you recommend an 19 mo. old infant to use Tobradex for a chalazion? We just got a rx but we are not sure this is safe for an infant under two years old. The side effects for long term use mention glaucoma and vision problems? Should I be concerned about this?
Avatar m tn I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
Avatar m tn It is not improving and he rubs it all of the time. I am a physician and was wondering if I should prescribe a steroid like tobradex or maxitrol for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar m tn About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something.
Avatar n tn I suspect that result may be optimistic since I saw another chart recently from a study showing that with the alcon monofocal that vision is down to 20/40 by the -1D, 1 meter, mark and worse closer in. Usually its best to compare multiple studies since manufacturers do tend to be optimistic sometimes (though some seem to be good about picking a representative study).
Avatar n tn i had a cataract surgery month ago, but still it doesnt look like its healing well., i noticed a redness of my eye,. it looks to me that its like bleeding from the stitch...my surgeon gave me tobradex., well it does work....it's does stop the bleeding/redness, but when i stop using it. it comes back again!!!....i really dont know whats happening, plese help!!.......
Avatar f tn / surgeon diagnosed as me as possible glaucoma. The pressure in my eyes was 24.5 . He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open. ( looks like a lazy eye) never had it before. He says my inplants look great. yesterday i saw him my right eye had raised pressure to 26.
Avatar n tn I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever. Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
Avatar n tn ) I see aspheric monofocal IOLs recommended here by Dr. Hagan and others. I called Alcon and was told that their aspheric (and blue light filtering) ACRYSOF® IQ lens is the "new standard" in monofocal IOLs, although they are more expensive. I am surprised that my doctor never mentioned the word "aspheric" to me. Is there ANY reason for me not to chose an aspheric IOL over a "traditional" monofocal IOL for my right eye?
