Common Questions and Answers about Throat ulcers remedies

Avatar n tn My daughter had her 1st case of genital ulcers at 12 during a case of stomach flu/sore throat--basically very painful genital canker sores. Doctor of course prescribes herpes medicines--didn't work--but it spontaneously cleared in a week. Four years later she had the flu and laryngitis and it happened again. This time for 2 years she had a relapse 3 times a year-- when she was stressed and developed high fevers.
Avatar f tn Sage has been used effectively for throat infections, dental abscesses, infected gums and mouth ulcers. The phenolic acids in Sage are particularly potent against Staphylococcus aureus.
Avatar f tn m not sure if i'm reading what you've said wrong, are you getting the ulcers, swollen glands and sore throat for a couple of weeks, then it goes away (on its own) for a few more, back again etc? I think anything thats new should be brought to the attention of your dr, it could be viral or even a drug, some drugs can cause ulcers for weeks after you've stopped taking it, that is if its a reaction to a drug.
Avatar f tn It started with what seemed to be a cold or flu, but he has been getting worse. His throat has been very sore. A couple weeks ago a doctor gave him antibiotics without doing a test, the prescription was for 5 days, unfortunately he doesn't remember which antibiotic it was. His throat was still hurting and he said he could see pus, so I told him he should get tested for strep. He did, but, the results were worse than strep - his throat is infected with MRSA.
Avatar f tn I've started a food journal today and decided to restrict my diet even further for right now, and try some 'natural remedies' I've read about. My main goal is to heal the ulcers and then I will be able to treat occasional heartburn flare ups.
1094370 tn?1317138425 I have taken Priolosec in the mornings the last week and then bumped it up to AM and PM for the last two days. I have noticed less throat clearing but I still feel as though my throat is irritated. I don't have any lump or trouble swallowing (knocking on wood right now). My questions are: Does this sound like LPR? and if it is....can I recover from this and not have to take meds the rest of my life to control it? Oh gosh...I'm very scared.
Avatar m tn It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
Avatar n tn epigastric pain/pressure/fullness, the sensation of food or something being stuck in the esophagus/throat, belching, the sensation of being squeezed tightly by a rope or belt beneath the ribs/diaphragm, the inability at times to obtain a full breath, coughing. This has been going on for nearly 2-3 months and they are worsening. These are nearly the same symptoms I experienced while having gallbladder problems, except now there is no gallbladder! I do have an appt.
Avatar n tn Anyways, about 2 days ago I woke up with a horrible sore throat. I only slept for 3 hours, and to the best of my knowledge I had no sore throat proir to going to bed. I had smoked earlier in the night using a vaporizer (something i rarely do) as well as a spliff. I examined my throat in the mirror (something I've never really done before) and noticed that the back of my throat had various sized fleshy bumps (by fleshy I mean the same color as a healthy throat).
Avatar n tn i am eighteen years old and in very good physical shape an otherwise very healthy, but for a long time or at least its seems like an eternity, i have had this recurrent feeling of tightness in my throat just below my jaw bones on either side of my face. It is like i have this constant need to gag, and eventually i finally do but afterwards the feeling just comes right back with no relief.
Avatar m tn I've read similar symptoms of being throat ulcers and in the past I have had health issues due to stress. If you could help diagnosis this, it would be greatly appreciated and what remedies there are. Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you soon.
209987 tn?1451939065 I was on antibiotics for strep throat/tonsillitis...the darn things kept blowing up in my throat. This did NOT help the esophagus one little bit, as you can well imagine! I feel like I have a golf ball stuck in my throat, and the doctor offered me some mouthwash??!!!??? I asked pharmacist and she said it was for sore throats. My throat is not sore, it feels like it has something stuck in it.DOH!! Anyway, the tecta alone is obviously not helping. My esphagus hurts like bleep everytime I swallow.

Avatar m tn Hi everyone, So 6 days after having unprotected oral sex with a male, (I am a male as well), I began to develop a bit of a sore throat. This went away after a day or two but I still had some red inflammation near the back of mouth, (Around the uvula and tonsils). 3 weeks after sex, I noticed a few white tonsil stone type things on my tonsils. They were really tiny. They weren't painful but I was a little scared they could be an STD.
Avatar m tn Nux vomica has a specific action on the digestive system. It is one of the best remedies for heartburn, ulcers, cramps, hiccups, food poisoning and constipation. It also has a detoxifying effect on the liver." You might also ask your doctor about Dexilant. It is the only antacid that has worked for me. Nux vomica has also been recommended for colitis, IBS and Crohn's disease. Hope this info is helpful...
Avatar n tn Another sympton I have been having since this time is the feeling that there is something stuck/lodged in my throat; it feels like a piece of food and it is always there making it difficult to swallow. I have lost nearly two stone in weight which is worrying as I was just ten stone to begin with and I am nearly 6 foot. As a result, I have withdrawn socially as I am worried about my bad breath, burping and become extremely weak and tired.
Avatar f tn The following week after I had gotten tested (had to be tested via blood, because the ulcers I saw were gone after only 3 days), I noticed the back of my throat had ulcers as well like canker sores. I came to my bf many times about this, my feelings and concerns, and he at first played the back and forth blame game with me. Well, I gathered as much med records I could on all my std panels, and I saw that I did have a herpes test done that came back negative.
1516249 tn?1423465385 Also without insurance, you would then start to look for home remedies which are not happening at present. In my posts I have said that women are the one most suffering as they have frequent interactions with doctors and somewhere they are prescribed PPI and the story begins to roll further.. As MEN we most of time try to ignore going to doctors and would visit only when there is a serious injury or there are some problems because of age.
Avatar m tn I believe in natural remedies myself. Nux Vomica, a health food supplement can even cure ulcers! 4 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice in a glass of water first thing in the morning is also a good remedy for heartburn/GERD. I take the apple cider vinegar also, but it doesn't stop my pain completely. I had been taking the ACV before my surgery - but didn't try Aloe or Nux Vomica until now that it seems my surgery has failed.
Avatar f tn Some people who have the habit of sleeping with their mouth open, have high chances of developing a dry throat. This is because they tend to breathe out of their mouths, and this could be caused a swollen uvula. People living in arid climates or dry conditions often experience dehydration due to low water intake. This may also cause uvula swelling, as when the body has a dearth of water, the uvula is forced to soak in saliva.
Avatar n tn I have no idea whether or not i have an ulcer but i'm starting to think i do. I've struggled with getting ulcers in my mouth and throat my whole life, but having one in so sensitive an area is somewhat shocking. I know mine isn't caused by sex, since i haven't had any in quite a while (a year!), but i'm in my forth week of birth control. Has anyone ever heard of birth control pills causing ulcers?
Avatar n tn Thanks, Needabreak, for sharing your experiences with the DGL, etc. I'm going to do a "cut & paste" of some GASTRIC REFLUX TIPS (without acid blockers!). The DGL does not have a laxative effect. DGL can be bought at health food stores and good pharmacies. (See the "tips" below!) It takes a different amount of time to see good results, for each person. The tips below have more ideas, in addition to the DGL.

250701 tn?1320978365 Another thing that can be quite effective is spritzing the tongue with Chloraseptic throat spray, which numbs the tissue and takes away the burning sensation. I have used all these remedies, and for me the "Magic Mouthwash" worked best.<<< They say they dont know what causes them but i do know these treatments make them come out really bad....drives me nuts cause i cant seem to keep my teeth off them and it makes them worse lol.
Avatar n tn You can check out the posts above, I was actually amazed to find so many others who've had similar problems with the same test resultts. I'll be looking into Lipschutz Ulcers and some of the remedies that have worked for people.
Avatar n tn I have had a colonoscopy and the other one (down through the throat). The only thing he could tell me was that while he was actually performing the colonoscopy, my colon was spasming. He gave me a prescription for colon spasms but it gave me no relief at all. What is miserable is I know I'm going to be awakened about 2:30 a.m. with this pain. My other symptoms are that after I eat I feel very full and the full feeling stays with me just about all day. I can only eat 2 meals a day.
