Avatar n tn re only supposed to gain about 2-3 pounds the first trimester anyway. You do however need to try to eat what you can. Eat small snacks throughout the day. Either salty or fried foods were the only thing I could eat for both of my pregnancy. Also cold carbonated beverages helped. Whatever you can do to get some calories at least, but no need to worry about the weight gain you'll gain all kinds of weight soon enough.

Avatar n tn Please don't think this is glib, but eat more of the healthy food you already eat and don't burn any more off. If what you really want isn't just to get larger but to gain muscle, then you have to do resistance training as well as eat more, and if you do that, you'll need additional high quality protein.

Tbd Are you vegetarian for any personal reason? Would you consider including other protein sources such as those from whey protein, or eggs? Maybe you could also look into a protein supplement to include with your regular meal, in a shake for example. Fruits are high in sugar. I would be looking into eating a low carb and/or ketogenic diet. It is possible to do this even if you are vegetarian, but will need quite a lot of work on food preparations and research.
Avatar f tn just remember to follow up with your dr to see if you can correct this .you will be ok .make sure you eat healthy foods and stay away from sugar.but definitly check with your dr and see what he/she recommends.

Avatar n tn Eat foods made with whole grains such as wheat, oat, and nine grain breads. Avocados, almond and cashew butters are good too. Add beans, fish, chicken or turkey to your daily diet to add lean protein. Meats should be broiled, boiled, steamed or baked and prepared with seasoning instead of breaded. If you eat fruits eat them with other foods to slow fructose [fruits sugar]. If you eat yogurt read the nutrition label carefully as most have added sugar to sweeten the flavor.
Avatar f tn I'm a diabetic, GERD (silent reflux) and heart patient. It's not an easy combination, and I understand your situation very well. Low stomach acid is a rare but real condition. Given your risk factors, I'd try the baking soda test, but I'd depend on a lab test to determine the acidity level of your esophagus. If you have insurance, I'd also ask for the acid test and also ask for a motility test to determine how well you can swallow foods.
