taking seroquel and wellbutrin together

This August my father passed away and i went in a deep depression. Psychiatrist put me on Fetzima 40 mg wich i was already taking and Seroquel 50 mg. Been on it for about a week and feeling better. Then my neurologist tells me i need to get off Topomax and get on Lamictal. When the depression hit bad the headaches got bad again so i started taking the topomax and side effects vanished. I loved topomax and now they tell me to get rid of it.

Thanks for sharing your concern about Seroquel. My pdoc just added it to my Lithium and I'm a bit nervous about it. I haven't started taking it yet, I guess I'm afraid of how it will make me feel. The Lithium has worked well so far with the depression side but not so much for the manic side. Hopefully someone else will post with more details....

i am currently taking 150mg of seroquel xr and 75mg of wellbutrin 3x daily. im taking seroquel xr for bipolar but i seem to have anxiety now. socail anxiety.. could i be miss diagnosed? should i stop taking the wellbutrin for depression and increase my dosage of seroquel xr to 300-400mg?

After taking Wellbutrin 150mg 2x daily and my Zoloft 100mg together fro the first time I woke disoriented and dizzy Just was wondering if I should of started the wellbutrin one a day to get used to it.

I am curious to see how the Wellbutrin and Lithium will work together. So far, it is going really well. Thanks for the tip!

Second off, what was he taking before? Suddenly starting on 300 mg Seroquel could make you extremely sedated, although as a rule Seroquel gets a bit less sedating at higher doses, because it's weird like that. Klonopin could also contribute to being stuporous. The Wellbutrin should be activating, but it's clearly not doing enough. If you can't get through to the psychiatrist, and you're really worried or he's not eating or drinking at all, he should go to the ER.

I'm on Cipralex 15mg for anxiety and depression and Seroquel 20mg at night for insomnia. I've been on remeron/mirtazapine before and had no sexual disfunction issues, however I haven't had the interest in sex/intimacy or ability to orgasm since a month prior to getting on the meds. I just started taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg because I'm told it should help with the sexual disfunction. How long until I notice a difference? Do you think I'm on too many medications?

Lithium and Seroquel together have made the best I have ever been, found risperdal wasn't good for me it gave me bad insomnia. Seroquel is the opposite and makes me sleep but i like that as i think sleep is good for your health rather than insomnia. I am still looking for that pill which makes me back to normal though. I would ask your doctor why he don't want you on seroquel and tell him/her that it has really helped you.

m worried that the combination of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin can cause this. Is the combintation of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin safe? Thanks very much!

In my case Seroquel did not cause any erectile dysfunction but Zoloft did as well as Wellbutrin. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

I am on that combination and it works great. I was taking Lexapro 20 mg with Wellbutrin and was fine. How long have you been on Lexapro? My doc started me out slow with a week of 5 mg then 10 mg and so on. I know jumping into 20 mg for me was exhausting. Best of luck.

hi i ran out of medication a week ago and since then i've been feeling amazing. like better than i've felt a LONG time. idk why this is. i was on wellbutrin 300mg and seroquel 150mg for my depression. the only negative affect i've had was less sleep but that's because the seroquel made my sleepy and i got too used to it. i don't know if this is a good thing or not because i'm afraid of having a relapse.

I switched to Effexor XR about a year ago because Zoloft was not doing enough for my depression. I was and still am taking Wellbutrin XL to combat the sexual side effects. Shortly after I started Effexor my doctor also put me on Seroquel. So I have been on these 3 drugs for the past year. Last month my doctor suggested I up my dosage of Effexor from 150mg to 225 mg.

i know its late at night but i am hoping that there are some people on tat can talk with me. i have been prescribed seroquel for bipolar 2 disorder and i have not begun taking it yet because frankly i am just scared of not knowing what to expect. is there anyone who has or is talikng this medication that can talk with me about positive or negative experiences with it? i would be most grateful.

I just started taking 150 wellbutrin SR , I was taking paxil . . . I had been taking an ssri for about 8 years now and I was always SO tired, never no energy, and the sexual side effects were something I decided I no longer wanted to deal with, not to mention no energy and I felt emotionally numb. Long story short right after the switch i noticed a HUGE change for the good of course. It was like someone had flipped a switch on and I began to live again.

I find it funny that you bring that up because I am also on Modafinil and Cymbalta. Try to get rid of the Seroquel and trazadone when you can and go for the Cymbalta and Provigil. Think about adding a good vitamin B complex to help with energy and you metabolism and what it can do for your brain and mood.

Me off Wellbutrin stinks...me on Wellbutrin...perfect therefore I take it and seizure risk is far from my mind. Not something I worry about at all. So will you be better on the meds or off? Right now I'm thinking that you should give it a try. And don't Google stuff...it is just going to cause more problems.

quetiapine 25mg night, lamotrigine 100mg night, wellbutrin 150mg twice a day. And inderal 10mg as needed for anxiety. Lamotrigine gave me a rash, wellbutrin (generic version) made me irritable and snippy at everything. The seroquel (generic version) has been wonderful, although it makes me hungry but since I take it at night I try not to stay awake with it. Inderal (propranolol) gave me apathy so I am taking less.

I am on Lithium and Wellbutrin, it totally rocks for me. I love wellbutrin, I lose weight, feel peppy and over all better. Oh yeah, no sucky depression! :0) I have not heard of angry outbursts on it, but if this came about after starting wellbutrin, then I would switch to a different anti-depressent. Some people can not tolerate Wellbutrin. This is my second time using it. I used it alone before I starting having manic spells. They put me back on it after I was on Lithium for a year.

Wellbutrin was not a good drug for me. It caused rapid cycling and was part of the reason I was so screwed up about 2 years ago. I did much better on cipralex. I think it is a crap shoot. I would let the pdoc do the picking of drugs.
