I have a love/hate realationship with the Adderall. Although I am prescribed 20 mg Adderall XR 3 times a day, I never take all 3 pills a day. Right now I am down to 1 pill a day. I love the fact that the Adderall gives me energy but I hate that after a few days of taking it I feel physically exhausted. I have tried to give up the Adderall but I always go back to it because taking the Celexa alone doesn't work.
That website was fascinating. I should have read it when you referenced it in earlier threads. I watched the videos. When the doctor was talking about the 2D6 pipeline he said that some people have narrower pipelines than others. I guess mine might just be on the wider side. I was also on a very low dose of Prozac and only 20mg Adderall a day back then. I suspect my psychiatrist must have known how Prozac and Adderall interact.
s safe with your medications. Lots of people are on Prozac and Adderall because Prozac tend to make you lethargic.
I mean I think we can consider a beer or 2 at night as a medication in your case but if you were alcoholic in the past I guess it could be easy to relapse. Anyway if you feel safe and capable of drinking only small amount of alcohol it is up to you but be aware that high quantity of alcohol with your medications is not safe at all.
You said you were getting off the prozac, a little piece of advice, I stopped taking the prozac so I could see the difference with my sex drive, and there was a drastic change. But just stopping prozac all together, without a physician's help, and without weaning myself off, I experienced the most horrible withdrawl symptoms. I am also on wellbutrin for depression/adhd, I have only been on it for about a week now, how is your experience with it? Especially w/ the adhd benefits?
I had some difficulties adjusting to being on the med which many of you shared your experiences with me which was a great help. Well I have been taking aderrall about 2 to 3 months. The feelings of paranoia, suspicion of others and rage have come back. So when i see my doc this week he will be switching me to something else. Adderall also makes me sweat horribly and raises my blood pressure. I am assuming he will put me on concerta or straterra I don't know.
Been on prozac since March dr messed with dose till finally by late June i went to 50 mg...im also on wellbutrin,well weight gain and other problems dr said to cut back on prozac 10 mg a week,been doing that im down to 30 mg but i have bad depression like when i first began prozac,i was added a estrogen patch this past friday,i have no energy and im tired all the time..
It makes him very tired at times and lay in bed all day. Could some of what he is dealing with be a side effects from coming off the prozac? How do you know what is what? Since back on adderall he's a rollercoaster of side effects.
OK..what is my point.....I would like him to go off all the meds for a while to see....(mothers intuition).he can always go back on or try something else....but how will he ever know how he'll you'll do if he never goes off the drugs.
I have been on Prozac20 mg for almost 9yrs, Wellbutrin 300 mg bid for about 5 yrs , and Aderrall 30mg SR for 2 yrs. For the last 4yrs i have experienced significant memory loss, word finding difficult, decreased concentration, night sweats and still feel depressed. The Aderall no longer works. I think the Prozac is causing the memory problems and brain fog. My providers says it's not the Prozac. I'm thinking of weaning myself off the prozac first and then the Adderall.
okay so I've had a lot going on in my life and my depression started getting worse so I started seeing a psychiatrist and I have only been on Prozac for almost a month. I hear bad and good things about it.
Maybe I'm getting Adderall and Ritalin confused then. Could have sworn I lost all motivation for life on Adderall and became even more hyper on Ritalin. Did I mention I'm dyslexic? But no Sandman is right.
hi i have been on prozac and xanax since march 3 2010.my dr added adderall for refractory depression a little over a week ago,,,,i can tell not much difference....and im still having the slow unsteady walk from before the addderall...does anyone know how long it will take the adderall to help my depression,,,he is usinfg it off label....
Hi I posted on here before and got great answers so I'm back again. I've had ADHD since 14 but only took meds for a few year before I decided to try things on my own. Now at 26 I'm working full time, going school and being a single parent. Needing help to focus and with depression I went to see a pyschologist( I have medi-cal so theres only one available) He put me on 10mg Adderall three times a day ( he said 4 but I made the decision to only do three).
My next step was to research treatments that involved taking Adderall and Prozac together. Did I find any? No. What I did find were suggestions and recommendations AGAINST taking these two medications together because together they increase the risk of Serotonin Syndrome. I looked at the symptoms for Serotonin Syndrome and I know I've experienced 4 of the three symptoms since starting my new treatment.
I've entered periods of agitation and restlessness several times.
i got some 20 mg prozac and i took one last night to equal 30 g yesterday.....
The SSRIs were horrific and I stopped those cause of the side effects but the Adderall was great. I even started taking the XR again in college to help me with concentration and memory. I obtained my B.A. degree and now no longer take the Adderall. Though I still struggle with concentration and memory at times I am living without the Adderall.
I take a Benzo for the Anxiety but otherwise I lead a healthy, normal, life. Whatever was "wrong" with me as a kid I outgrew!
After years of continued difficulty with bouts of depression, anger/irritability, sleep, I saw a new doctor in 2015 who prescribed Abilify 5mg along with Adderall. He mentioned that he thought I continued to have issues because of the Prozac but did not officially give me a diagnosis. I immediately saw the benefits. However, at the end of 2016 I went through a severe bout of depression and discontinued the Abilify.
A lot of people do not have success with Welbutrin but most people have positive results with Prozac. There are so many good antidpressants available and sometimes it takes time to find the correct combination for you. I understand your urgency with vacation coming up. I would really consider contacting my doctor and follow his advise.
I'm a 54 year old female, 5'1 and weight 105 pounds. I've been an avid runner all my life. I've been diagnosed with ADD approximately 6 years ago. I have been on Wellbutrin 300mg for a few years. Last year when I was on adderall I found that my bicycling or running would seem so so hard to do at my previous level. I would get shortness of breath and my heart would race extremely high.
hi all im on xanax prozac and adderall,my dr onn may 4th told me i could drink 2 beers a night with my meds..he is a pshychitrist,my heart dr agreed and so did several pharmmists..they said it might just make me sleepier....i notice the next day my heart rate is lower and so is my blood pressure..i drank for 8 years on xanax and depakote and alot and was fine..i enjoy the taste of beer dont want to get drunk...but i felt kinda tipsy last night for some reason...
