I would say most probably not - it would probably leave you wide awake and very numb, only to have the withdrawal effect from two medications instead of one. Adderall is a mixture of Amphetamine salts, people that are accustom to taking this medication can sometimes fall asleep just as the medication reach's it's peak. Being that this is not something that you take regularly, it's going to have more of a narcotic effect.
I'm a 40 yo male and have been taking Adderall for three years now....same dosage (30mg twice daily), but take it 7 days a week for ADD.
My doc suggested that once a year I take two weeks off to "reset" my system...but I've never wanted to go that long without taking it!
Well....it's my 4th day of being totally off and I'm feeling great. I started cutting back by a 1/4 of a dose each day.
After a few days of this, I give up and start taking the Adderall again. I get more done at my job and have a better attitude when I take the Adderall. Although most people have lost weight while taking Adderall I have gained about 15 pounds which, of course, doesn't help the depression.
Does anyone have the same experience while taking an SSRI and Adderall XR together.
I have been taking zoloft (100mg daily) for depression for about nine years. The only times I was not taking zoloft is during my second and third pregnancies (and, boy, it was tough). Zoloft has changed my life - and my family's happiness.
Just recently I was also diagnosed with ADD. My doc gave me adderall 10mg IR to try. The first day was wonderful - I was able to slow down and focus and much of the frantic feelings I normall have were gone.
It all started about Wed (02/08/17) morning when I woke up, as soon as I sat up I had a strong urge to gag and did but didn't vomit. It was an unpleasant feeling of course that lasted through the evening with me having no appetite. What I find odd is that it pretty much completely disappears by around 8PM every time! Now about a week later I'm still experiencing this which is why I came here seeking help.
Well, see when I switched from Concerta to Adderall, I just stopped the Concerta and went to taking the Adderall XR. After a few months the XR did not seem to work very long or throughout the day. So, in 2007, I went on Adderall short acting pill form which generic form is amphetamine salts or amphetamine mix tabs. With this pill, first of all, it is extremely inexpensive. I pay $30 for 180 tabs 20 mg each. I cut each in half and take each half 4 times a day a total of 40mg.
I have friends who are RN's and that is one tough, stressful job. I can't imagine what it would be like without RNs around.
I am probably off beat here, but I would be remiss if I didn't throw this out. You were diagnosed at 19. Were you in college then? Sometimes, the college doctors since they can't do the normal surveys of teachers, go more on the need of the patient and maybe don't follow the actual guidelines.
I have never heard my Psychiatrist talking about it being used to treat Bipolar. The only reason I take Adderall is to treat my ADHD. I have also only taken Adderall and nothing else, for a period of time, and did not notice any changes in my Bipolar symptoms. Everyone is different though, but a symptom one can have from taking Adderall, are racing thoughts, so I don't believe it would be prescribed to treat that.
Do you think that I just lost all my progress by taking 1 Adderall yesterday? I mean is it gonna completely restart my opiate withdrawal? I already flushed the Adderall down the toilet because it didn't help, it didn't even take me out of withdrawal. I'm afraid that I just prolonged my brain from healing and getting back it's natural endorphins.
Adderall couldn't have restarted the process could it?
I have been taking a total of 30 mg Adderall for about 6 mths now. It works great during the day, and has changed my life tremendously. I am able to complete the 200 projects that I start on everyday. But insomnia has made me it's ***** at night! If I could guess what a crack head feels like when coming down, the Adderall "comedown" would compare to it.
it helped so much but i dont think that i would help for the adderol. my dr. thinks its fine for me to still take the adderol b/c of the fact i only take em when i have to work and i only take 1/2 of my dose! but you cando it hunny.....itll be hard but if you put your mind to it you can do it! i hav faith in ya! if you ever need anything im here just pm me! the best of luck to ya sweetheart!!
diagnosed at 9 with adhd i was already a miserable kid.started taking ritilin things really got better.but then my parents after 19 yrs divorced.very dirty custody battle,so with all this the treatment just got dropped.So back to misery not fitting in and a failure.then i found something and it made me feel great forgot my problems,good old opiates.im not going to drag this story anyway im 36 now been on suboxone 4 yrs<but something was still not right.
effect of no sleep, food, excess energy, tics, paranoia and panic attacks I ended up with a sinus infection and estachain tube blockage. How could the adderall cause this? I went to the Dr., got nasal spray and antibiotics so the sinuis better. But....I have popping and severe sharp pain in my left ear. What can I do.? I am doing Yoga breathing to help and popping them but as soon as I more around it comes back. Will this go away?
So I’m order to confirm it was the adderall causing the worsening of symptoms i stopped taking it for a few days and the lesions began to dry up and shrink within 24 hours. When i began taking it again, BOOM, lesions were back and bursting with debris. So today i switched from adderall to metadate (extended release methylphenidate). I have tried every imaginable topical you can imagine without any success on the lesions.
I am 56 and was diagnosed with ADHD at age 42 . I take Adderall 45 mg per day and decided to take !self off it . I don't believe it has The same affect on me as when I first began taking the meds .I too lost interest in sex and my Dr. who is an excellent Dr. , is managing a treatment center for addicts and doesn't have the time for me anymore . I don't like the effects of Adderall anymore and my last appointment my Dr. told me not to go off it .
I became addicted to oxycodone 15mg in 2012 after my first back surgery, obviously I was on them while I was in the hospital for 7days after surgery then took them for about 4 days once I got home. I tried to stop and became sick and realized I was addicted. I go to a pain clinic for my chronic pain. Since then I had surgery on my elbow and just 2 weeks ago I had another back surgery. My oxycodone has never been upped in dosage so of course it doesn't help with the pain.
I agree with the idea of eating breakfast before taking it. I've been on Adderall for about a week now and have a hard time eating. So I started eating breakfast then taking it, helps alot. The other thing I went and bought were high protein boost shakes. Little pricey for a pack of 6 but definitely help when I can't get food down. Hope this helps.
